@@electrikoptik You need to add a Y pipe. Then you get that trumpet like sound which sounds better. Almost like a Nissan Z. The Y pipe is the key. Tundra's comes with an H pipe from the factory and that's why the tone is not as good as the landcruiser which I believe has a Y pipe from the factory.
The amount of hate about the truck being a v6 is crazy. People with no brains love to hate. They see v6 it’s automatically a no no. First full size truck with a ttv6 that comes to mind is a f150 raptor. Because its a raptor everyone forgets its a v6. People love to hate the new tundra.
Everyone that has something to say ahead, has completely changed their mind and apologized after driving my 22 platinum. Even a dude with a 2020 Tundra 1794. Said he wish he waited.
Honestly I think they need to make a louder exhaust for it. One where you can hear the turbos but still deep for the v6 noise. Honestly they dont sound bad.
Is your grill surround wrapped or is that factory? It changes the whole look of the truck. Yours is the first 2022 that I actually like how it looks. That surround just throws me off.
There's another fella that has the piped in interior sound, and it sounds good on the inside. If i get one, I'd most likely get the piped in sound. But as long as you guys like your sound, that's all that matters. Be happy!
Nice video guys. It pains me to hear those crisp and brawny V8s leaving this world. I love my 5.7 Flowmaster, but the writing is in the wall. Exhaust sounds are on the way out. Either way, I love your hunt for enjoyable exhaust notes on these potent (and more efficient) twin turbos.
@@donaldalderman2424 Sport is the best package IMO. I couldn't find any around me so I settled with the SR5 TRD off road. I don't go off roading though... so it's a waste.
v6 just sounds terrible no matter what it seems like. The factory exhaust sounds much better on my 22 f150 coyote than an aftermarket v6 exhaust. Which that'll sound even better once my RC duel exhaust comes in. New Tundras look damn good tho
Asking for your advice , I want to level and lift my tundra get more ground clearance. I don’t want to spend $6000 for a king setup with your experience on multiple trucks what is cost effective that I can look at for my tundra
@@txkingg not sure about that, some places may not care as much to pull someone over just for that but I doubt there is any US state that allows modification of one of their issued plates.
After all is said and done, I am sure that we would all choose performance over exhaust sound, if we had to choose one over the other. If the exhaust note sounded great but the engine under performed, I think that we’d be less impressed. I had a 2016 tundra. Loved the performance, loved the sound but hated the fuel economy! This dude’s got a “Come and take it”shirt on living in California ! 🤣 You can’t even carry out there. Lmfao !
yeah your right nobody has a gun in cali...🤦♂️😒
@@abc123lov7 exactly! No concealed carry! 😃
Seeing as no one is actually going to take guns from anyone anywhere the shirt is dumb regardless of state 😂
The trucks are sweet. But I think we all just need stop pretending we’re gonna be able to make V6’s sound good. 🥴
These exhaust sounds are definitely underwhelming. Really my only knock on the twin-turbo V6 has this is never going to sound like a V8
The same engine in the 300-series LC with modded exhaust sounds better.

I can't wait until someone v8 swaps one of these.
Doesn't sound like a v8 but will whoop that v8's ass, bud.
@@masonryman8183 why? to slow it down.
I’ve never seen somebody customize their own plates. I’m wit it, good job bro! Here in Illinois they’re definitely pullin my ass over
They still sound like a V6 flap flap flap!! But nice trucks.
What?
When I had my tundra the flowmaster outlaw series sounded hella good
Transmission in this sounds buttery and quick

Is it legal to change plates like that? Nice truck
He got pulled over and had to take off the plate wrap
The plate is illegal. Your just asking to be pulled over. Then he'll nail you for your windows most likely as well.
Pretty sure he knows it and is accepting of the risks involved.
Yeah he got pulled over for the tint and they wrote him a fix-it ticket for the plates too
They remind me of the Buick GN and T-type back in the 80’s. Maybe it’s just the turbo V6 sound.
Dang, does tires sound pretty good
Both systems legal in California?
Are you legally allowed to change the license plate like that?
Honestly I think they need to make a louder exhaust for it. One where you can hear the turbos but still deep for the v6 noise. Honestly they dont sound bad.
Louder exhaust wont make the turbos more audible alone. Intake piping and resonators have a lot to do with the turbo noises
Besides sounding more "powerful" what are the REAL benefits?
Both great looking trucks! What level kit on the trd off road? Thanks. Nice work
Yeah the tundras sound like a Camry. 🤣 🚙💨
Is that legal in CA? Changing the plates color feels illegal .
I wondering if I tint my truck like your do I going to get ticket for tinted? In California.
What tires and sizes on the method wheels?

Yeah mine was factory matched🤙
U can do that to ur plates and its legal?
New v6 tundra owners need to do everyone a favor and leave the exhaust stock and as quiet as possible

My only complaint about the new tundra is the hideos silver around the grill
That's why I got an SR5. It's body colored instead of chrome.

How much was his truck ?
Overlands sounds better but honestly don’t think I would put a exhaust on it
How did you get the numbers for the plate?!
Having your own or a friend with a vinyl cutter helps.
Bro that license plate is sick. How do I find out if I can do that in Texas?
You can do similar anywhere, but it’s not going to be legal.

Maybe you can do some research on how to swap the infotainment system and make a how to video. I'm sure it can be done
Love the plate wrap I'd love to do mine do you know if that's legal looks so much better in ny we have boring white plates too
Not legal anywhere but penalties might differ and not make it as much of a concern fee wise if/when someone gets you for it.
Yeah it is … u have the jbl upgrade on that limited
U have the pumped in sound
Tuff!! 😎
No such thing as a great sounding V6.. these trucks sound like a vacuum cleaner.
Was stuck between a trd pro 2022 and a 2022 Chevy trailboss LT. Went with the trailboss, but your truck looks badass!

They both sound too quiet imo
I remember years ago clowing a guy for putting pipes on a V6 Ford..well well well, how the turns have tabled 🙃

I’ll take the slightly less hp on the V8 in favor of the awesome sound and meanness of it.
Yeah I'm good on the lawn mower noises haha

They shoulda put the v8 in these.

Sounds like wet farts in my opinion
Nice trucks, but stop showing exhaust videos for these v6's. They will never sound good.

Haha boy think he’s flexing with that exhaust

Rice burner sound city. Not even close to V8 sound. Nice trucks though
Haha both no front tow hook. Both sounds like a Honda civic with a fart can. Don't compare to a V8 it's embarrassing.
