  • The El Chupacabra, Blake Baggett, has been fairly quiet since retiring from professional racing back in 2020. Much of this being over-shadowed by a legal predicament with his prior racing team, the now-defunct Butler Brothers Racing. The door has been closed on that and do to typical legal matters, we'll never really know what happened with that storyline. Over the past year or so, we've seen Blake slowly posting more and more on social media as his son Braeker has been bitten by the two-wheel bug himself. However, no content of Blake himself riding...until this weekend when Baggett returned to the track. His Instagram post on the matter has caught a lot of attention, not just because fans and other racers alike were excited to see him back twisting the throttle, but the machine he was on and the setting turned some heads.
Blake Baggett turned up on a weekend at Fox Raceway, in a fresh Fox kit, to ride a Rockstar Energy branded Husqvarna FC 450. Complete with a Factory team mechanic (Jared Warrick) and a factory WP suspension technician (JR Boyd). Warrick is Christian Craig's wrench for the Rockstar factory team and JR Boyd is the suspension technician for the TLD team but was also Blake's crew chief during the Butler Brother days. This combination instantly fired up the rumormill with our forum and social media ablaze with comments that Baggett would return to racing and possibly fill-in for the injured Christian Craig come the Pro Motocross season opener. We dive into it here.

Favorite Baggett moment was by far Freestone wall jump into the 12 pack. I remember feeling the ground shake when he landed a few times as my mind was blown that day. Been missing his style and come from behind heroics since. Love ya Blake.

Im just happy he doesnt hate the sport and is still at the tracks with his child. Mx is a lifestyle and some sort of an addiction, but racing mx at a high level isnt fun. He got out of racing and still walks on his own legs. Has a child to raise and a lot of other things that probably makes him happy. Why would he go racing again and risking all of that? If he has fun riding a dirtbike again, thats all that matters.

What threw me off was Fox, and Oakley reps, and Craigs mechanic. But I noticed as well that the bike was completely stock, thought he would have suspension at least. So it sounds like if he decides to race, and put in the training he'd have a ride. Needs more than 2 months, but if anyone could pull it off Baggett would be the guy to do it. Thanks Michael for the update 🏁🤙

Bagget will have a run similar to Dungey but wont get anywhere near the positioning that Dungey was placing. Dungey re-entered the field before it reached the insane level that Jett single handedly elevated the sport to. Riders are pushing themselves harder than ever before. Its Cool to see Blake Baggett back on the bike, He needs to at least do a season of racing, the retire. It sucked that he quit to soon. But with sponsors always wanting to pay less in the middle of the pack then top ten then top three payouts, must get tiring to perform, when sometimes outside of moto comes with hard times as well.
if each State of fans can pay him 4000.00 a month with at least 20-states of fans, we can help getting him to the races.
I always thought it would be cool to promote for privateers to get to events like that.
