Solar Superstorms: Journey to the Center of the Sun
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- A fury is building on the surface of the Sun - high-velocity jets, a fiery wave that reaches 100,000 kilometers high, rising loops of electrified gas. What's driving these strange phenomena? How will they affect planet Earth? As digital technology and electrical grids have spread, scientists have found that violent solar storms pose a threat on the scale of hurricanes Katrina and Harvey.

Yes. My favorite narrator for this channel.
Mine too, he has such a gentle voice that is ready to understand and also, if needed, perfect for faking sleep too. But I still don't know his name. Can anyone tell me this?
His name is Dick Rodstein
@@GraveDigger46 A voice and tone like this is the only one I'm willing to listen to when learning about the cosmos. It's such a grand and bold presentation fitting for such an awe inspiring topic.
No silly british accent too
@@GraveDigger46 Have you noticed that they have remade episodes without him? I don't mean make new episodes without him but new episodes on the same subject with nearly the same script. Its crazy to get rid of him to begin with, he is everyone's favorite narrator for this show. But making - no remaking episodes with nearly identical scripts is just bizarre. Look at their channel and watch some of the newer ones and you'll see what I mean if you don't already. Right off the top of my head the one about infinity is one they redid. I hope they see this comment. I don't think he passed away. I mean if they simply could not help his departure I get it but the remaking episodes is still strange.
Dick Rodstein, hands down the best narrator for these space documentaries.
All hail Dick! 🙌🏻
Did anyone else have three null sound area's during this episode.
Yes, I did.
I did as well. Turen complete audio drop outs, and several times where only the background music or effects fell away. This has happend in several videos on this channel lately.
The audio keeps going out in this video 😕
I thought it was just me for a sec! 😂
JWST is showing us that our universe was much more dynamic after inflation.
Great documentary,,,the part's that have audio are excellent 😊❤🎉
This was great, thank you.
Excellent. Narrator perfect, script extremely well written.
Crystal in Canada 🇨🇦
Too many moments of “dead air”
I love how they all compare those giant magnetic prominences to thermonuclear bombs in terms of energy released. When basically any energy released by a star compared to any weapon we've ever even conceived of, would be like comparing a camp fire to those same hydrogen bombs. You could say that they both produce plasma and high temperatures and not be technically wrong but they aren't really on the same level
Dick Rodstein is the best
All hail Dick Rodstein!!! (Narrator)
HYDRO QUEBEEC! 🗣🗣🌊
This is just a reposted video from 10yrs ago. I wish they would re-engage Rodstein for new content
Next heliosphere of the Sun and journey to the center of the Earth!!!
Thanks for another good one. DR❤
Great
I "rewound" and replayed 3 times and there's a missing part of the audio from about 8 minutes to 12 minutes..
It is hard to appreciate the disparity between the internal heat of the Sun (a supposed 15 million degrees Celsius,) the relative 5500 C 'coolness' of the Photosphere and the 1 - 10 million degrees ascribed to the Corona, the problem referred to as 'The Coronal heating problem'.
Magnitudes such as these can be hard to appreciate, so here is a model that can help:
Drop the temperature of the Photosphere shell to 0 Degrees Celsius so it is the temperature of a snowball. Then drop the temperatures of the core and Corona in proportion.
You end up with a core that is 2,700 C - hot enough to melt steel - and a Corona that varies from 180 C to 1,800 C - a temperature so hot that you if you were standing in the vicinity, you would parboil or vaporize, your choice.
- And all that with a snowball shell sandwiched in between.
Seen through the lens of the Laws of Thermodynamics, that is one hell of a problem.
The fusion core hypothesis simply doesn't make sense.
So you don't believe the sun uses fusion? I'm sure this is not a theory. Perhaps you lost your ending. But the coronal heating problem? Now that is a problem worth solving. That does not make sense.
That's idiotic. I can survive the hot air of a sauna but would be boiled alive if you super sized my morning coffee and dropped me in.
There is tons more physics, let's just say your ignorance offends me. Ever considered that hot plasma doesn't radiate much? Temperature is really just movement and it's a vague catch all term?
The people demand more Dick Rodstein!
You need to redo the audio an upload a replacement video. Audio quality sucks.
Amazing Comentator❤with amazing facts!
