750cc Cross Kart Thrash + Speed Testing!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 июл 2019
- We take the 750cc cross kart out on it's first road test! First, we add more bracing to the front end of the chassis to prevent flexing and failure over large bumps, and we add removable bracing to the rear of the chassis to stiffen up the engine area, and to prevent flexing. We also try to tune the carburetors with socks! By putting socks over the intake pods, we're creating a small restriction, which should help clear up our issues on these vacuum operated carburetors. We think they helped a little bit, but not much. We need to do more jetting. We hit 60 mph with the cross kart (which is pretty good considering we're still having major engine problems), and the suspension soaks up bumps very well!
Thanks for Watching!

get some slide in 8 inch baffles for pipes , get that back pressure and still sound awesome. will stop the cutting out. I have built several 750 honda bobbers and used them . they work very well and are cheap on ebay. pods are fine, no need for air box just either fix back pressure or jet them carbs
This!
Agreed....synch the carbs and add more back pressure for the exhaust. Possibly the main jets are lean. May need to riches them up for more fuel.
Everyone please give his comment a like. Those are literally the options for the engine to run good.
It would run sick with supertraps in it. I would buy 2 supertraps say for a Honda big red 350cc each.
Then play with the jetting until it finds its sweet spot. 👍
those older engines need a certain amount of back pressure for sure.
Even with it running like absolute garbage, we were still able to achieve 60MPH, and the suspension feels GREAT
been waiting for this! you guys should swap it for a 600cc sportbike motor if you get the chance!
Keep it up been following from the start
Please build or buy a 600cc micro sprint. They run on a small dirt oval and are great fun
Guys i know it's supposed to be a cross kart but you should make it street legal
You guys should buy a card 450r motor for a drag cart
The gas tank you are using is for like a 50cc engine and the petcock doesn't allow enough fuel to pass through to the carburetors.
Can hear the miss for fuel
I feel like y'all need to build a second one when its all tuned and bugs worked out because that's entirely too much fun to be had by one person at a time.
Amen to that!
same thought
Few (opinionated) suggestions--
Add an exhaust collector to promote scavenging (for the new exhaust).
Alter the shifter leverage for a shorter throw (perhaps trim it down as well).
How about paddles instead
@@AiOinc1 Paddles are great when setup properly, just a lot of work.
The shift bar also gives the opportunity to move the clutch to the shifter via lever.
Joe-405 on diy karts did paddles on his 600cc Yerf Dog Grudge race buggy.
@@bad__syntax I suggested this on their last video, I know I'd put the clutch on the shifter and just make it one deal
Nah put a wet shot kit in it and have someone you don't like very much test it
front brakes might not be such a bad idea
nah bruh, unnecessary rotational mass
Now after 4 years of watching yaw Iam impressed of what yaw have built really I knew yaw could do it no one has ever beat me in my off road karts till now
Everyone be like, "you need to do this you need to do that..." I'm just here with my popcorn enjoying what you fellas do. Keep it up! It'll be fine!! 👌🏻
listen to my mixtape its fire 😂
Opinions are like assholes , everyone has got 1 .......
Wanna see a real cross-kart does?

And if you watched it you will see this one in this video has all the time and money spent just like in my video i posted here but never be a real cross-kart
@@4486xxdawson yea and there is no excuse the boys here are saying the steering and suspension is all guess work when the sport was profected years ago as here is a video of what a real cross-kart is supped to do as you will see they have longer travel and much longer lower a arms and do jumps on rally course roads through mountains at over a hundred and do jumps the same on paved roads as well

Old Skool Only Garage what was i thinking , its not me sitting behind the wheel of a death trap , its them who bring us unbelieve able entertainment you could never pay a stunt man enough money to do ! And its all free to watch 24/7 ...mum's the word dude and keep that under your hat is what i was always told by my boss at the honda shop ! As my boss jumped my shit one day showing these two little kids crying about their three wheeler believing the engine was blown as shown them how to adjust the intake valve and it fired right up....and boss says " you just cost me a sale as they were trading it in getting nothing for it " so now i lost the sale of a new and perfect use three wheeler ...so today i see what you mean , as honest is NOT the best pollicy and fuck everyone out of everything you can take away from them
SICK!!! I want to drive it lol
Next: 5pt harness, shorten that shifter, then tuning 😁👍 Stay safe & Live longer to keep building cool stuff!
Oh yeah! a harness. It only took one slip up for me. I was one hurting lucky sob that day. I never rode without one after that and the next time I became the passenger it was like the hand of an angel grabbed me.
That shifter needs to be shortened or something, Its at prime face stabbing level in a rollover......
Paddle shifters are easy and safe.
P a d d l e s
They have alot of rollover issues... u see the way issac was stickout of the cart
might be alright with a bend in it to create a something like a handle
Opinions I'm sure they just wanna have fun and build.
That thing is a MONSTER! Cant wait to see what it might do at the dragstrip once you work out the minor fuel and carb issues. Awesome build content!
That is the coolest build yet ! Next to the dragster ! Awesome build guys , totally wild !
You need to build a collector where the headers all feed 4-2-1 down the center. Then add a muffler. Then do the air box and jets. 👍🏼
If he puts the air box back on there would be no need for jetting the carbs
@@yzfdyl1110 The OC is about exhaust. Not intake.
theYzFDyL pretty sure unless he also puts the stock exhaust system he’s still gunna need a jetting swap. Since they pretty much have to fab everything, they can actually skip on the air box, build a proper set of headers with exhaust and muffler, jet it correctly and let er rip 👍🏼
None of that matters if they don't SYNC the carbs. All that missing and detonation is going to warp and destroy the heads.
Can't watch this anymore. Put a sock on it... How about 5 minutes to sync the carbs.
tiporari true, I totally forgot how important syncing the carbs is. And they can’t just earball it... they’re gunna need the mercury leveling tool. 👍🏼
you guys should put actual miata rims and tires on it, with meaty off-road tires. Check out General Grabber AT2's. They are awesome
AgnotologyTV nah. I’d get some wide ass rear pit-bike wheels and tires, from a Honda z-monkey or a ct90 (or super cub). The lads are never gonna get over 100 mph safely with those baby wheels, or big heavy Miata wheels. Check out cyclekarts guys.
Guys, I hung onto my 2stroke 3 cylinder Suzuki bike with hopes of using it to power a go cart
Great idea but no time.
Love this project.
Always figured to just put it in any gear n go.
No shifting.
You did this one great!
Haha... that last clip. Damn, Isaac. Bumpy dirt road, puddles, telephone poles, etc. on a new unproven build at, uh, as fast as it can go? You are a savage!
That shifter lever is a accident wating to happen
Jacob Jensen waiting
A bracket attached to the side bar, with a slot for it to slide back and forth. Would be a quick cheap fix, and make it precise shifts.

John your welding is looking and sounding a lot better lately
Keep up the good work
Bend the top 6" of the shifter out a bit so that you don't impale yourselves. Seriously.
it might just be a temporary shiftier until they find something better..i hope
Im sure they'll go paddle shifter after they work the bugs out.
@@scaleop4 I hope so too
they need to fix the jetting also sound like shit
They said they were gonna paddle shift it after the bugs are out. That’s only for “testing purposes”
Jockey shift has a lot of slop in it and is in a dangerous spot at face level.
SLAM BOY yeah I was just thinking the same thing. It should be lower, and with a real shift job on top so it doesn’t impale your face in a crash.
I was thinking about the shifter being shortened to be more conformable with a hurse shifter
Wish I could give it two thumbs up!....cart is awesome, you SHOULD be proud
Man the sound of this thing is just intoxicating!
Single rear brake is going to be very unstable. Need shifter kart front hubs.
Its not that bad, because its an axle brake. So it stops the whole rear end.
@@thomasparker4972 Uhhh..... Yeah. Stops the whole rear end. Which then proceeds to snap harder than Thanos. Trust me, I speak from experience in this.
Warlord Gonagy you’re not the only one, but for now its fine. Unless they slam on the brakes whilst flat out they will be okay.
@@warlordgonagy143 uhhh....how about you not slam the brakes on? anytime you lock the brakes up, its gonna slides.
Look at the internet's warriors!
Tip for welding half shafts, from a FWD drag racer....
Cut the the ends of the half-shaft sleeve on opposing 45 degree angles and rose-bud the shaft prior to welding if possible.
This reduces localized welding stresses and the opposed 45 degree angle cut insures the weld encompasses more area outside of single plane, on the shaft.
I've built many prototype vehicles this way with great success :)
Additionally, the amount of negative camber is far more aggressive than required.. as a consideration.
Considering the front goes positive camber on compression, it may not be a bad thing. Their geometry is absolute garbage.
Agreeed, looks like they got hardly any penetraion
Awesome build guys! It looks fun, and once you put bigger tires on, it’s gonna be a whole other machine! Keep up the great work!
Ike drives it like he stole it!! Love this channel👌🏻
I gotta say one of the sickest builds on this channel 🤙🏻
It is sick . bring to the doctor
You guy's should be proud. The cart is awesome , but please work on the safety concerns. We'd like to keep you guy's around a while. That thing floats over the bumps.
I am impressed on it's handling
Bad ass...getting better all the time!
From nothing but raw steel to an outstanding off-road vehicle. Wow!
I wish those joints had grease fittings.. they would last so much longer
OMG guys please shorten the shift lever and put a knob on it. It will work better and save someone from being impaled on it if there is a crash. Also I think your high RPM breakup is lack of fuel not too much, with the open headers is pumping more air through the engine you need to rejet.
yeah i found this out the hard way with my old honda 4 wheeler, its actually the one in my channel lmao, i had to much airflow and not enough fuel making it into the cylinder, people i bought it from had broken the battery and had no baffle in it or restrictor, also had to put a pod on it cause the old airbox was busted and no filter lmao
Magic 8 ball
Love how John is always worried about isac. Making sure he is ok..true friends
One of the few things I seen you guys build that is so fast! Looks like fun
This might be the most dangerous thing I've ever seen but I'm sure it'll be fine.
It will be fine
This actually does not look dangerous at all
You should see grind hard's Barbie Jeep
anonymous is there a video on RUclips?
I gotta say, this project is truly beautiful, and you guys are stepping up you're game in content, great.
These two make such a great couple. I love seeing two partners doing things they love together.
Love your work and dedication
The angle of those front shocks is really bothering me for some reason. Also that shifter is an impalement waiting to happen guys. I would at least use a handle bar grip to cover the top
@@dhpoars yes it should be. But it'll be fine
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed...The front shocks are supposed to compress not bend and flex. They should have mounted the tops higher on the frame and the bottom more centered on the lca.
The shocks are fine guys. With that little unsprung weight and the light front end, the angle looks to give a real nice spring rate. It looked very nicely sprung for that matter and I do this shit. The shock angle also makes the shock valving that same percentage less effective as well. But they don't need much extra shock value due to the low unsprung weight. It works. And quite well by the looks of that last run at the end.
So rude to leave dirty BIG 11's on that driveway LOL !!!
Yes it would be a REAL SHAME if they continued to do that for my entertainment ;) (for real, never ever stop making 11's)
Wow once the Tuning is sorted that kart is going to sing .I used to race karts in England so I know how much fun you are having well boys it's awesome
I don't really comment on youtube videos but I have to say I enjoyed this one!!
Jo keep those vids up I love the series of all the karts mini bikes and the drag kart
Can't wait to see it when your finished & please, the shifter, before somebody on here has a heartattack!!! Love the kart, NICE WORK...
That is a badassed home-built rig right there. Well done Gentlemen.
I knew i should have kept that old CB 750 ! Nice job. Living dangerously.
Is there an injection kit for Honda cb engines? Imagine this beast with two-step
Not an affordable one. Best bet would be to adapt one off a poor existing bike, like a gsxr. But carbs are far easier to work on.
i would CAUTION the JUMPS at high speed!!! Very Nice build
wow, you put the time in on this machine, what a grind, what a great result
This video was epic!
Impressive work guys, impressive.
Cut down the shift lever 1/2 add a small T handle! At least😲🇺🇸❤️
a tip balance the carbs I had to on mine and redrill the main jets balancing uses 4 vacuum gauges I have a homemad buggie with a gs850 Suzuki and 64 ford falcon transmission for low and reverse have 26" atv tires on it
Sweet! It's like a Formula Ford from back in the day. Thank you for entertaining and sharing. I didn't like the look of the non-breakaway power poles and their concrete bases. So close to the track. Please be careful.
These comment sections are always full of safety tips and freaking nascar mechanics. I care about their safety but it's a half way done project, they know what they need to do to make it safe. Great video though.
Please return the heat down on the welder and wire speed! It should be an even buzz when it breaks up like that its o good! From your welder fan, keep up the work tho guys!
@@Jeremy_Teagarden fitter/welder using a mig??? If you're talking about pipe that doesn't count. Y'all are the ones I make fun of in the field.
I think it’s to lean... between the air pods and no exhaust ( highly recommend mufflers, these motors like back pressure) it’s causing it to run lean.
You people are dumb
Explain why a 4 stroke would need back pressure.
All they need.... 4 Into 1. That will be enough back pressure in and of itself
Marion Cobretti 💯
@@marioncobretti2407 ok, what you said above is theoreticly correct, but... Only if they want to achive the factory stock setup and carb jetting/adjustment. But if they up the main jets the a/f mixture would even out again. A short and wide exhaust will generate high rpm power, kind of exactly what you want in a death trap buggy...
Great progress guys! In leiu of an airbox you could soak those socks in 80-90 gear oil to create more restriction. It's very easy to breathe through a dry sock. The other easy option is to tape off half to 2/3 of each pod's surface area. Tape, said it before, I know you got some!
I love it guys that's one badass lil cart. U guys do good work.
Sick cart. Gas tank is a little close to the think tank and that shifter lever is going to impale someone if the cart flips but besides that and needing and good tune it’s a crazy fun looking ride. And fast. Great job guys.👍
basically you've built a really cheap 3/4 scale Ariel Atom.
That thing sounds outrageous!
With this build you have come very far! That suspension is great.

That front suspension looks like it is doing awesome during Ike's run at the end. I am so jealous, wanting to make my own.

Lol the tack weld kings!! Looks like a blast!
Exhaust collectors are good!! And even more important in a high RPM engine. Your loosing a lot of power @ the over lap when the exhaust is closing and the intake is opening.
“I’m jackin the back end up so I can spin the wheels” relatable
i believe a lot of the folks watching this video are concerned with you guys safety , what a nice community . In F1 , the roll hoop should be high enough for so head of the occupant to doesn't come in contact with the ground if you get over on your lid . Be safe guys and keep doing the kinds of stuff that a lot of us would like to do.
You came close to spliting that cart in half with the power pole at 12:19. Glad it worked out for you
Just clear coat it over the surface rust. Man that’s risky flying past all those power poles on a new build. Awesome machine. Well done.
Just what I was thinking, with welded steering rods... yeeeoah
Sometimes you just gotta send it 😂😂
dude! been there many times! split second decision- 1) eat the mud/puddle, 2) avoid puddle, but greatly increase chances of loosing control? Oh sh!tt!! Nevermind, there's a tree! lolol
Don't paint over rust. Just don't.
That is a awesome build. Does it have a Pulse pump for the gas delivery system? If not that may help with the running out of gas thing, also the tank vent may not be big enough to support 4 carbs.
Phillip Mountain Man It’s a gravity feed for the gas. It just needs jets. A bigger gas tank with two petcocks. Just like the factory tank.
@@livingstonbarrie Like on a Harley Davidson sportster pulse pump 883 keeps a steady pressure.

Guys put the old bike speedometer and tachometer on the go cart
They cant do that , that engine ran a cable for the tac and the speedo , the tac cable is to short and the speedo cable ran from front wheel of the bike so also wont work , a tac can be put on from coils but a speedo wont be accurate. Im in the middle of a similar build but have a 83 gsx 750 so not able to use the dash gauges , same problem but again who needs them on a offroad build , most times you feel like your doing 100 and your ears work as a tac lol ...
Great job guys, looks like a lot of hauling ass fun. Looks and sounds great. Oh, it’s Beautiful wherever your at. I’m in Arizona at the base of the Superstition Mountains in the desert. We have great dirt bike and 4 wheel dive trails everywhere for hundreds of miles. Lots of learning and safety to be added from those shake down runs. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Needs a proper exhaust system so the engine can benifit from scavenging
I kinda like that rasp though. And the total lack of safety makes me want it to run good, but not that good lol

Great Job fellas this thing is gnarly
Those carbs might need the stock air box on them tuned especialy for the carbs , the pods are just to lean for why it might be breaking up so bad ya think?...
sabrom So True. It’s obviously running lean if putting socks on makes it run better.
They messed it up but lack the motorcycle specific engine experience to put it right... It needs to be tuned and not with socks.
