    Thanks for the video. Hauling gear onsite is always a fun challenge. I've been looking at the stand manager and the Westcott roller to help condense my stands and modifiers. Had a shoot last night for composite banners and took two X-Drop Pros to make a 16 foot backdrop and a 5 light setup. Fun times 🤣

    I've photographed sports for 40 years so have used it all. Now I just walk into a gym with a 1 or 2 Profoto B10 Travel Kit Back Pack. The bag has enough room in it for a small mirrorless camera, plus extra batteries and a trigger. I also carry 2 or 4 8ft Kupo Click Stands, umbrellas and a carbon fiber tripod in a Domke Light stand bag that I can also sling over a shoulder and away I go .
    You will understand as you get older.
    But yesterday I pulled out my 35 year old Speedotron 2405 and two heads to use in a gym.
    Thanks for the video...

      For the stuff I do I generally need most of that equipment for teams honestly. If I were just shooting one person I could probably get away with that small amount of gear, but I’d also rather have everything I need just in case. I feel like every time I try to travel light I end up needing something I don’t have haha.

    Matt when you use your 7 foot umbrellas for team photos how do you place them to avoid glare in glasses? Thank you.

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  11 месяцев назад +3

      Honestly? I’ll ask them if they mind taking them off and if not, I take one with and one without and photoshop them haha. That’s one thing I’ve not figured out with them. However, the higher you put them the less glare there is. Also make sure the kids chins are level or slightly down.

    how do you travel/store your 45 reflectors? Any bag or case you recommend? Carry them loose? These suckers are big lol I just don't want them to bend when in travel. Don't mind if they get beat up in action lol Would have liked to seen a shot of how it all stores away in your case. Maybe a RUclips Short vid of it? Thanks for sharing!

    Question on the 400s. The bodies are strikingly similar to the original Godox AD600, except obviously they have been upgraded for flash tubes, software, interface etc. From what I’ve seen they have about identical output.
    Light output is tricky but it would be interesting to see if the 400 is really a 600 being “understated”. Do you find the 200 is really just a stop off? If you had an AD200 and 600 I would be curious how they compare.
    I think a lot of people see the 600 of Godox and think it’s more powerful but it seems like they might not be in reality.

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  11 месяцев назад

      Great questions/observations! I’ve actually got a video coming out next week competing the FJ200 and FJ400’s output so check back Wednesday around lunch (or hit the bell to get notified with it posts haha). I think every company measures their strobe output a little different. I’ve never had or tested a Godox light, but that would be a good thing to try. It very well may be that their 600 is the same or close to the FJ400 output.

    Hi Matt, thanks for the post, I have a question on the link for the 45 Degree deep focus reflector? how does the reflector compare to the wescott?

    Thank you for a very informative video. I have talked to a couple of photographers that claims that you absolutely need a 600w light for outdoor. But you say you have managed with 400...? The difference in price is significant, so it would be great if it did work.

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  11 месяцев назад +1

      I use to have 2 Broncolor Siros 800 Ls, but once I got my FJ400s I got rid of them. Take a look at my work. Everything from the last 4 year is all done with a 400 so you tell me if they work 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate the support!

    • @kennypringle4580
      @kennypringle4580 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@tollarplennie it depends on how far from the subject the light is. I use 400 watts a lot for my outdoor individual portraits. I’m not sure if 400 is enough to shoot a large team is mid day sun.
