What I appreciate about your videos is that you will highlight on some of the smaller, more incremental steps in a process and explain it out, whereas alot of other channels mostly skip over talking about them. Also, you're voice has a lovely musical way about it that is nice and it's also soothing
I also am that girl who takes her own pillowcase when away from home Enjoyed this curly hair sleep routine I will definitely be trying out some of your ideas Greetings from Canada
I can't believe the difference in my hair just from a silk pillowcase! I woke up to hair that is manageable rather than a frizzy tangled ball of fluff. Thank you so much for your help. Embracing my curls took a long time and was somewhat overwhelming, but just making small simple changes daily made the journey far less intimidating. Now, though my hair is far from perfect, it looks better every single day. Thank you!
The hair clips are the biggest game changer for me. My scrunchie would slip off my hair and I'd wake up with my curls wrapped around my neck about to choke me. Now I use a couple clips to secure the bottom of my curls against the scrunchie. Scrunchie stays in place and the longest curls are tucked against the bun as well so less chance for them to be snugged against my pillows. I travel with an oversized silky scarf to roll my pillow around since I had a silk pillowcase misplaced at a hotel once.
@spirals 73 Been there! Braids are great to avoid extra tangles (that sometimes I get with pineapple buns) or if I have to go to bed with still damp hair though.
I already pineapple and silk pillowcase, but those clips are a great idea. My curls are bum length and I find pineapple-ing doesn't get all of it up on top of my head. Definitely trying clipping tonight!
thank you for this vid! fairly new in the curly world, i used to pineapple already but i did it wrong...tried it today and my day 2 looked better than ever 😍
That’s the way i do it to! And i also have a bonnet where i don’t use a pineapple. I have very heavy thick hair and the pineapple can pull on my front sensitive hairs. Thinning there :/
I just started binge watching your videos and they are really helpful! But does anyone know how to safely put your curly hair in a ponytail. I play a lot of sports and after I have put it up, it always looks terrible :(
Have you tried using invisibobbles or any similar coil type elastic? I don't ponytail much anymore (my hair is long enough that ponytails can give me headaches) but I used to lightly wet the roots and get rid of bumps and then use a coil elastic. For extra security, I'd add a scrunchie over the elastic and it'd stay all day. If it's your length that you don't like how it looks, try adding a couple more elastics down your length (think bubble pony, without the bubbles). The upside of that is you can always wrap the length in a bun and use the lowest elastic to secure everything. ManesbyMell has a few curly ponytail videos too.
Hi, I am just at the very start of my curly hair journey, I have straightened my hair for over 20 years as I’ve never known how to deal with my curly hair! I’ve been watching your videos some more than once! (And they are amazing) I have shoulder length hair and it’s fine so when I scoop it up there isn’t much to mess with so is there any advise for protecting curly hair if you don’t have long enough hair to put in a pineapple?
I don’t! My curls would be such a mess when I woke up! Also my scalp doesn’t like being wet for long periods of time - this can can issues for some people! I always fully dry my hair before bed when I wash it at night

Haha yes! Gotta protect those curls!

You have the most beautiful hair! I just do a loose braid at night and my waves fluff up again when I release it in the morning.

Such a game changer for me too!

Thank you so much! The nighttime routine has been a struugle for this baby curly girl, aka me. I'm running to get clips and all the silk things asap!😊

Oh yes do try it! It was a game changer for me! Report back and let me know if it made a difference, too 😍

So glad to hear this! It’s such a game changer!
Sadly, I don't have a sleep curly hair routine. My curls are always freezy. I will definitely buy a silk pillow and get the hair clips.
Thank you!!

Just ordered 2 of the pillowcases using your code. I am going to try doing the clips tonight instead of just a pineapple. Love your channel.

Yes you can do a half pineapple and keep the underneath down or you could sleep with a bonnet x
Those phone cord ties broke so much of my hair a couple inches from the roots 😭
My hair tangles overnight 😩
All curly hair tangles a bit between washes :)
