Had to stop the video to add my input on fringe... another theory i have heard is it breaks up tour outline so animals don't see a solid line and perceive you as a solid object so much as blending into your background. I thought this theory plausible until about 2 years ago when I was vow hunting and decided to go on a still walk. I was able to walk up on a doe an fawn within 20 yards or so. My tag included a buck so I was more playing with them and wanting to get a buck but looking back I wish I had shot the doe. I was walking downwind towards her in crotch deep grass with my buckskin pants and shirt. When I would rustle the grass she would stop and stare at me ad I'd freeze. After 10 seconds or so (feels like an eternity) she would forget about me and go back to grazing. When I got about 20 years away I just stood and watched her for the longest time. Could have taken a shot easily if I moved slow but I was encapsulated by her for some reason and had my mind set on antlers. It was actually the fawn that eventually kinda snorted and ran off and the doe followed. Not sure if it got a whiff of something or just was playing around and mom chased after him. Either way, after wearing a heavily fringed outfit and being in the middle of an overgrown hay field like that and being able to get the sneak on a deer, I truly believe fringe breaks up your outline and makes it hard for animals to register exactly what you are and that you may be a threat

weird & controversial (read: partially offensive) presentation & I have issues with the semantics, but good video in general..... lots of useful information, glad to see all this knowledge...

Not Bald Eagle ... the feathers usually worn were from the Golden Eagle .

I apologize for any disrespect by the term Sioux over Lakota or Dakota I used it as a general know word just as Delaware would be for Lennie lenapa. As for the history of the war shirt most my research comes from prairie edge Sioux trading post or from natives themselves. But if you have any knowledge on the war shirt I lack I'd be more than happy to hear it

Don't be discouraged by people like this it's a simple misunderstanding on your part.
Our war Shirts(Blackfoot) are decorated with Human scalps of enemy.
One certain picture for each (Horseshoe) successful horse raid
      The are made from Elk.
      Sioux aren'tfrom the plains FYI
They come from the Mountains and that's in their stories.
It was the Fur trade that brought other Nations to the plains.
Blackfoot were the only ones that hunted Buffalo Traditional.
And we were the last to be contacted from the WHITEMAN
Hence the Word wild west because no one would come on our Territory.
FUNFACT after SITTINGBULL and his people killed Custer the fled to Blackfoot territory and paid us so they wouldn't get killed by US ARMY where they still reside till this Day.
      That's a historical fact

I respect and appreciate the kind heart and humbleness you express while sharing this information, but as a indigenous young man myself my only question is is did you get permission to share these teachings, being indigenous or not yourself isn’t my concern, I’m only wondering if you were given permission to share these sacred teachings

Greetings. My channel is for historical teaching not cultural that's why not all my videos are native themed. But having gone to pow wow my whole life and being around the native community I'm well aware that in explaining my outfits I'm hitting some cultural aspects but none of what I'm showing can't be research on Google in books or on other RUclips videos. In fact most my knowledge from this video comes from the site (prairie edge and souix trading post) I suggest you look at their site. I hope this helps clear up any issue you may of had with my channel please have a great day.
