I don't get all the comments about the video quality. I don't care about that, this helped me out so much. Thanks a bunch mate!
I need a simple, easy and Cheap way (no special devices, cables, software, etc.) to move my software from an ancient Win 7 to a new Win 10 PC. That is exactly what I found in your video. I did not need a Hollywood-quality video production. I watched this twice and your tutorial is all I need. Thanks for sharing.
That was the most sloppily done but simple & effective videos I've seen yet. Thank you! Very well done! By sloppy I simply meant the camera movement but I know it couldn't be helped. Your going slow was actually an asset for my 70 year old brain.
Yeah, when I was watching I was thinking if he has access to video editing software why not use it.
@@brandonwyckoff6167 I cant believe i watched the entire video... I learned nothing here. And kept thinking if he has windows live movie maker and whatever else than why not use it.
Mmhhhmm. Mmhhmmm. It stinks
Run setup wtf
73 now
This would work with simple programs, but I'm afraid it will not work with more complex programs like Autocad that requires you to reinstall and use the serial number.
THANK YOU!!! I have been searching for simple, made for non-computer geek instructions on how to do this. I bought a new computer and was dreading moving programs and files. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks, just about to upgrade PC and worried about some programs i'll lose, this worked on a test laptop so way less stressed than before.
This may work for non-licensed programs but anything with a registration key is not going to be this easy. There may be registry entries or files in other directories that are required.
how do you find these files?
Yeah how do you find these files? , I've purchased a software wich will only work on 1 pc but I want to move it to my new pc it came with a Hwid:key
Would the method of the video work for example photoshop or illustrator?
I tried copy Word 2007 from my old laptop to my new one and did not work it. What can I do ?
@@cherry1311 what did you ma friend?
Man honestly thank you so much so many people always say that is super Duper easy to do things like this but it isn’t when it comes to applications that were installed with a CD
Hexplained every single step... he even told you how to click the mouse lol
A little difficult to follow but excellent info. Thank you. (LIFE BEGINS AT 83.)
You just saved me time, money and a headache! Thank YOU!!
Out here doing the lords work
I can't believe this was made in 2017. Super ghetto, but super helpful. Thanks!
This is how I wanted to learn step by step. Thanks Man
WORKED PERFECTLY!!!! Horrible video production. But this is the best info video that helped me. I wanted to transfer "Visual Show Automation" software from a 10 year old computer to a new computer. I was able to follow step by step and everything worked perfectly. THANK YOU.
This video is much like for copying DOS program files, where no Registry held program IQ. Programs such as MS Office, Adobe products, etc, will not copy as demonstrated-only simple Windows-based programs that do not use the Registry to log the product entries.
Cant you just copy the registries?
This is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate this valued information . Thanks
Did it work? What happened to your older computer, so you now have 2 copies of the program with 2 different computers? I'm wondering if there's licensing issues, you know how greedy these companies are
Thanks very much. Was driving me mad, cos I kept copying a shortcut and not the program. Worked for me.
Thank you for your time, the information is fantastic. like some ppl have already said, the bouncing on the video itself was a bit much, but hey, the information was great, helped me tons, keep up the good work !
Brilliant - asked for admin autho a few times when dropping to new laptop but double clicked and all ok Thanks a lot
You're a hero. I want you to know that.

This was sooo helpful, even though the blurry side of this video was hard, Great job!!
Thank you. Now my Christmas lights will all go on and off at the same time thanks to this video. I needed the old version of ActiveHome on another PC. I couldn't find the install disk. The instructions in this video helped.
Yayayayay
Gr8 job! Pun very much intended
You teach really well.
However its clear for me.
Thank you very much!
Did you ever think about becoming a surgeon?
Thank you my friend, you saved me so much trouble shooting; your method worked first try😁
Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Very helpful!
Thank you for this!
Thank you so much huge help I had a video editing program upgraded it it started making my computer crash and I couldn’t retrieve the old file fortunately I had what I wanted on a different computer and now you have showed me the way to get it back on my laptop thank you so much
You are the GOAT my dude, keep it up
OMG! You're a GENIUS! My softward was no longer supported but it worked like a charm!!!!
You should download a Screen Recorder instead of using a camera, for better video.
bruh
thank you for sharing your idea or your knoledge.. your not selfish.. thank you so much for teaching..
I am skeptical. Simply copying program files from one computer to another does not actually install them on the new computer. The program needs to get installed into the Windows registry of the new computer and simply copying files does not do this. Maybe it worked in this situation because you are transferring between two computers running identical Operating Systems, or maybe it worked because you previously had that software installed on the second laptop and it was already in the Windows registry on the second laptop. I don't recall if you mentioned what OS was running on both laptops.
This won’t work on expensive programs like QuickBooks which defend against piracy. Installations of such programs write to the Registry and WINDOWS folder. They even write hidden files.
i like this sorts of tutorial it gets to the point and you understand it right away 🙏Btw Thank You This Is Really Helpful
You saved my life big time ❤️ I hope you are doing well and I thank you and hope you have a wonderful holiday
Glad I could help!
THANKS MY DUDE !! YOUR THE GREATEST !!! 2 THUMBS UP !!!

Terribly done but good information
Excellent information. Thank you
Thank you very much the only video on RUclips that covered exactly what it said it would. But now program won’t open on new laptop, it says can’t find MFC110.dll...on to the search again.
I was thinking same.. probably wont be as easy as copy and paste .. that never really works.
Thanks for this wonderful video sir 😘😘😘😘☺️☺️☺️
3:19 in short, ctrl + A
Thankyou! This helped me out greatly!
Let's hope this works. When I get home . I just transfered the file to USB. Now time to try it on my home pc
Did it work
That right click close-up!!!! Lmfao!!
Lmao it was Epic!!!!!! I'm like heck yeah thats how you properly right click!!!
above all, it worked!
Fantastic sir, this has helped me loads, godbless
Thanks a lot
thank you
Does this mean that to get any software to work on a new computer, you just have to copy the original folder to a portable media then copy it back to the new machine? How does this effect programs that need registry and a keycode to work? I am upgrading a laptop soon and I don't want to waste time with experimenting. Thanks
Please note that he moved the files. It was removed from the PC and then moved from the pen drive to the folder in the new PC. Drag and drop does not leave a copy behind like copy.
@@alfredotorres3553 But is the D&D copy exactly identical to a C&P copy? The new pc is not going to know.
Man I can't copy Adobe Photoshop , help please !!
Same here, I lost my Adobe product key and I would like to move Photoshop to an upgraded pc...help
I've ended up at this place for the same reason, but mine worked, have you pressed 2 times on ''Open location Folder''?
Jesus I was about to transfer Adobe Photoshop too what can I do
Unfortunately this workaround doesn't work for photoshop.
Thank you for the help!
Thank You for this. I tried this with an older version of windows movie maker and it worked, but microsoft has an updated version on my new pc so it keeps defaulting to that. I HATE their new version, it is awful and unnecessarily complicated.
Thank you so much ❤️
Love your teaching. Very helpful. Thanks so much !
Thank you 💯🤜🏽🤛🏾
you are welcome
Very helpful thanks. Hope it works with big programmes.
thank you so much
Don't know about you but.... I was really relieved each time he put the camera down... I was getting seasick and vertigo both atr the same time! Hahahaha! I also don't believe this method will work for every program... Some programs put entries in the registry to prevent this type of copying...
Thank you mery much. Worked perfectly.
The author hasn't explained what to do with software program files that are "READ ONLY" or "HIDDEN". How do you write them to a new drive on a new laptop? Do you have to go through every file of every program and change the 'attributes' (if you can) BEFORE transferring (since you have to 'write' them to the new drive)? What about program 'hidden' files?
Helped me out a lot ty
What if the program is high end copyright protected for a single computer user license for nontransferrabe installation on 1 pc only, and the person is getting a new pc to replace the older unit bit can't afford another new license for another download, to the new pc? Any hacks? (For educational purposes only).
Steven K McKendall Sr either use bit torrent or a DTC data transfer cable
Steven K McKendall Sr Or you can setup your own internet server and share any file as if it’s the internet but the only thing that will be one that internet is what you put no one else can axcess it unless they connect to the server router or you run a satellite or Ethernet cable to a router in a different location
For any newbies out here (myself included), could you elaborate and explain, please? And Thank you.

Pfft
This might work for some programs but not others. It doesn't account for necessary dll files or registry entries. For me it worked for Handbrake video editor but not my HR Block tax software.
Damn man, you have hella ads
Thank you!
Thank you for this info. Very useful.
Thank you thank u thankyou so mucccchhhh!!!!
thank you sir
Thanks brother 👍👍
I tried to do with this with my Wondershare Filmora software. It transferred to the new computer but doesn't work there. Did I miss a step or something? Do I need to download the new setup software?
Can I transfer a software from my notebook, that has already been transfered from a desktop, to my tablet??
Thanks sir.. I hope, this will work for me
Thanks so much
I totally enjoyed your clip. I'll have to admit the camera bouncing was a little much....And now my 2 cents. I think you could have done a little prep work first would have gone quicker.
First, open flash drive and name folder to what you'll be moving. On new computer do the
same. Name file where you want it located. Then you can go to the file on old computer,
copy, go to flash drive file, paste, move to new computer copy from flash drive paste to
file on new one. then create the shortcuts....sorry for being picky, i've always wondered
how to do that since Picasa 3 has to go through 3rd party thanks :)
Very helpful
TLDR; copy program folder and paste it in same location on new computer. Then launch the exe application doc.
Wondering if some programs won't allow this. Also recommend watching on 1.5 speed minimum 😂
Why didn't you copy the entire folder to the flashdrive? would it be the same or you have to do selecting all files as you showed?
Thanks a lot man.
👍
Ok it all worked until I clicked on short cut… a System Error came up and said “ the code extension cannot process because MFC100.DLL was not found that reinstalling the program me fix this problem”
Copying the program to the other pc was successful but it is not INSTALLED in the new pc. How do we do that?
did you remove the flash drive before running the program? if not, have you tried running it without the flash drive ?
THANK YOU it work!
hallo, are you sure that the transfert is put in programmfiles (or) and not in programmfiles (X86) i think thats very important??
thanks a lot
OMG. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU!!!
Better when watched on a laptop
So, take the shortcut on the desktop and pin to the taskbar, then use the shortcut on the desktop to open and run the program, right?
thanks helped a lot
Thanks bro it worked
Tried this on Office 2007 did not work
bro that is a liscenced software
