- We take a mini-tour of the historic Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Georgia, which served as a hangout for the original Allman Brothers Band. Some of the ABB's best known classics were inspired at Rose Hill. The picturesque cemetery has also been used by several bands as settings for photography including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gov't Mule, and, of course, the ABB.

I was just there and visited Macon last weekend. I always leave a silver dollar (flipped onto Gregg’s grave) and a pick for Duane who inspired me to pick up the guitar.
Sad and beautiful...but mostly beautiful, considering all the amazing music they made. I was there in 1991, before there was a fence around the ABB graves. I put my Fillmore East album on Duane's and Berry's graves, and snapped photos of it in both places. That's the closest I will ever get to having them autograph it. Thanks for this moving and touching tribute to the band.
My grandparents and aunt is buried there. Most of my life I have gone there. And my husband used to go there because he was friends with Greg and played with David Coleman and the Ds rock group. My husband died too.
My parents, grandparents and great grandparents are all buried there. Grew up in Macon and visited their graves on a regular basis.
Chris, this is one of the best video's I have seen from Rose Hill. Don't get in to big of a hurry to get in there! I once did some research on this which required a phone call to the cemetery caretaker. This is a Civil War cemetary and you have to have permission to be interned there. Governor of Georgia gave permission on the grounds the ABB promoted the State of Georgia through their music and were considered ambassadors.

Funny how things happen. Sitting here watching a RUclips video on Rose Hill and a guy I hadn’t seen since 1999 pops up. Recognized Rex right away. Little bit older but still looks the same. That brought back some memories.
4:34 can someone tell me the exact location of this wall? I want to recreate the photos with my brother next month but I have no idea where the wall is. Any information would be very helpful!
