I genuinely love the amount of respect you give these cars. Everything's checked and topped up, nothing's abused and it's driven gently after years of sitting. I especially liked how you replaced that air inlet pipe so the mass air flow sensor didn't give false readings, and so it didn't suck bits of rubber in! Yes the bumper got a bit of damage but the car needed a big tug to get it out of that hole. Excellent video as always!
Very good condition for almost 25years and last 13years off service... It's very relaxing for me to watch how you bring the old abandoned cars back to life. Especially I liked the series with the red passat B3. I hope that on spring or summer when the weather will be good, you'll completely restore this one to make it your daily driver. Felt kind of a nostalgic I don't know, and since this is 13 years old and sooooo low range on the engine,I would say that it's pretty much a rare piece. I saw worse cars from Bmw like a X3 that is sold for like 3000-4000$ with 200k+ KM on them.. or E36's that we're really expensive for their value.. In my country you would very rarely find cars with less than 150k KM.Pretty impressive that it didn't have all the lights in the dash, especially the check engine light. Keep. It. Up. Awesome content.
Great video! Thanks for getting this Compact back to life. M43 engines might be small but literally bulletproof and easy to maintain, just perfect for a daily driver.

This car has been running for 25 years in a humid climate, half of which has been left unattended, but surprisingly free from corrosion. There is a slight rust on the surface, but there are no rotten holes anywhere, and rusty iron shavings do not fall off like a biscuit. How do the Germans make alternative cars?? It's crazy technology!
Of course, you guys there have only 3 liters engine and higher lol. But in Europe due to pollution regulations and taxes, and also the configuration of cities (you don't spend 2 hours with the metro to get from one corner to another of a big city) , the configuration of engines is smaller, nowadays they produce mostly 1 liter turbo engines for small cars, or even less, with 3 pistons. It's very hard now to buy a 2.0 gasoline or 2.0 diesel engine in any 2020/2021 car, most of them are 1.4 gasoline and 1.5 diesel (talking about regular models and brands, not luxury or supercars)
