Once or twice my mom came close to bad-mouthing my brother (we have different moms) whom she doesn't really know well and I recall getting very defensive of him, like Daemon in this scene. Like, hold up, I can talk shit about him but you don't get to.
I love how prince Drahar starts looking at the sky...starting to fear dragons! The same fear he spread will be given back to him! Fear is the true power...all of them knows it very well!
I can't wait for a spinoff about Corlys rise to power as the head of house Verlaryon, the dude was basically the equivalent of Prime Tywin Lannister and Robert Baratheon of his time, cunning and ruthless, a proven man of the battlefield, charismatic, wise, insightful, honorable and able to compromise to a point.
2 men of high statue in their families and countries, none of them insult 1 another and even though 1 family is the ruler of the other they speak to each other with respect of who the men are not their families. I admire Lord Corlys, a man who has built his families dynasty to the height it is now and he understands when to take action and when to accept surrendering and generous terms but with that being said he knows his own worth he will not be disrespected by a terrible deal and also in doing so he knows how to sway and negotiate with people. I would ride in his army with the highest honor
The actor, - Steve Toussaint, has a very early role in the 90s British cult classic movie, ID (police go undercover as football hooligans). He is the one that asks Trevor in the first pub about Josh Carrera. Looks like the Lord of Tides was a Shadwell fan
Everyone is creaming about "brotherly love" in these scene, but can we appreciate them actually playing the game? Corlys is looking for support when he believes kings makes bad decision. Comes to kings brother, knowing that he is underappreciated. Daemon understands that this is his chance to gain something, but this could destroy his relationship with brother if done poorly. So he plays it safely and just listens, reminding Corlys that even if king is wrong, Viserys is still king and his brother. It's not just brotherly love point, but even more so royal family position.
I think this scene alone is better than season 2. I can’t think of many exciting things happening like this. Colys and Dameon are barely relevant in season 2 as well.
Yes it was very obvious when I was younger that I had more attention than other people (incidents at Church, etc). There is no doubt about this experiment starting way before high school.
I’ve read some rumor about Aemond being Daemon’s son with Allicent. I mean, AemonD is Daemon. Wordplay. Same visciousness. The actors that would play them are look alikes 😅
They also had a brief stare down after the final family dinner scene where they both kind of looked in awe of each other. However Alicent and Daemon don’t seem too fond of each other and I doubt Alicent would be unfaithful after all the shit she gives Rhaenyra for doing it, it would literally make her the biggest hypocrite in both this show and game of thrones even
Okay, question for those who are way more versed in the books than me. Say, for a moment, that this alliance actually led to open war between Daemon and his brother. Would Daemon have actually stood a chance? Even with the guy who runs the realm's biggest fleet by his side? 🤔
Absolutely. Viserys’ dragon Balerion is dead; Rhaenyra’s is young. Daemon has the most violent and dangerous dragon in King’s Landing (there’s another called the Cannibal who kills and eats other dragons, but he doesn’t have a rider or the desire to be ridden). Laenor Velaryon has a dragon called Seasmoke; his mother Rhaenys rides Meleys the Red Queen; and his sister Laena rides Vhaegar herself, the largest dragon in the world since the Black Dread’s death. Four dragons against one-easy conclusion, if you ask me.
From 100-300AC there were few men who rivaled the sea snake in charisma, courage and leadership. Corlys knows his family should be near equals to the Targaryens but is ranked below the Lannisters, Tyrells and maybe even the Baratheons and is rightfully angered by this. If I was him I would’ve talked to the Starks and in exchange for manpower to conquer the Stepstones and the Disputed lands I would’ve made the Disputed lands available to them each winter and provided transport to ferry them across the seas so they could survive it more easily. I also would’ve made it a haven for escaped slaves granting me revenues from the taxes from the farmers and herdsmen and dues from the sea lanes. In terms of wealth they would’ve been richer than the Lannisters and Tyrells combined.
Corlys has a brother, but he's the elder of the two. He considers himself a 'second son' in the sense his house House Velaryon is always seen as second best to House Targayen.
He’s not. Coryls will be a MUCH better man and character then little finger completely! Just you wait and see as Corlys is ALREADY a great character in this show already based on what he’s shown and done! He’s fantastic and he’s one of my favorites from how phenomenal he is!

Once or twice my mom came close to bad-mouthing my brother (we have different moms) whom she doesn't really know well and I recall getting very defensive of him, like Daemon in this scene. Like, hold up, I can talk shit about him but you don't get to.
Good god every scene is a solid!
After seeing the photo of older Aegon and Aemond, I immediately remembered this scene.
I love how prince Drahar starts looking at the sky...starting to fear dragons! The same fear he spread will be given back to him! Fear is the true power...all of them knows it very well!
Fear is how you command respect but using solely fear makes you doomed to be overthrown, as underneath fear is just people wanting you dead
Daemon's face at the end......priceless.
This is cinema done correctly. This entire scene and how you end an episode with 100% showmanship.
Any dialogue that has Corlys in it are the best of the entire show as well as Otto Hightower they both have the best lines
Daemon really is an unpredictable rogue. He happily snarks with his brother and mocks him but also fiercely defends him against others.
I love Corlys. Great show so far
No doubt Daemon loves his brother, just act like a spoiled teenager, do all kinds of sh*t to get Viserys' attention.
0:44 when House Velaryon theme starts.
They do make a great fighting pair they are both very determined men
Everyone is creaming about "brotherly love" in these scene, but can we appreciate them actually playing the game?
Corlys is looking for support when he believes kings makes bad decision. Comes to kings brother, knowing that he is underappreciated.
Daemon understands that this is his chance to gain something, but this could destroy his relationship with brother if done poorly. So he plays it safely and just listens, reminding Corlys that even if king is wrong, Viserys is still king and his brother. It's not just brotherly love point, but even more so royal family position.
Looking back, I’m wondering why Corly’s asked Daemon for help. I thought it was cause he has a dragon but the Corly’s family has many dragons.
Its about leadership. A "PRINCE" on his side. Fighting his wars.
I wish they get more scenes together. Hopefully season 3 in King's Landing.
Never forget
😌
What is the ost at the end of the video please
I don't even know if my essays were graded without bias.
At least multiple choice, you know
I just realized that Corlys is talking to his cousin in law and step son 😂😂😂😂
I think this scene alone is better than season 2. I can’t think of many exciting things happening like this. Colys and Dameon are barely relevant in season 2 as well.
Now that is some Fast and Furious scene.
Yes it was very obvious when I was younger that I had more attention than other people (incidents at Church, etc). There is no doubt about this experiment starting way before high school.
The constant changes from "you are so cute" to "you are ugly". No doubt I have been through a rollercoaster of compliments and criticisms.
Perhaps people in NJ don't know. But the people who designed this experiment know for sure.
God, I love Game of Thrones.
However Alicent and Daemon don’t seem too fond of each other and I doubt Alicent would be unfaithful after all the shit she gives Rhaenyra for doing it, it would literally make her the biggest hypocrite in both this show and game of thrones even
Red wedding 2?
technically it would be red wedding 1
The crown Damon gave the king should have been the reason for the leprosy disease given the crab kings looks
I love Coreys and his family. But the show kept killing them off. They are more regal than the other lot
Daemon and Corlys my favorite in the whole show🤣🐐
I really hope the Sea Snake series is made.
Wasn't Corlys the richest man at that time, even richer than the Lannisters?
@@arhammuharram1881 Yes he was
Talking shit about ones brother is not the same as being against that brother.
It's funny how Daemon says "low standing" when he is literally a prince.
He holds himself to the highest standard of ambition, king. What's wrong with that?
You cannot interpret someone's self esteem through comments like that.
Lowering your expectation and ambition is the dumbest thing you can do. Just build resilience.
Stop that surfer boy bullshit. Put your house and family first.
Corlys is portrayed as the vilain here, but he was right to deal with the crab-feeder.
Otto is wrong yes daemon is ruthless but he is not a second maegor
I think Otto was deliberately trying to drive a wedge between the brothers. He wants his grandchildren to sit on the Iron Throne.
I’m confused and am wanting clarity.. does Corlys have an older brother?
No it's a metaphor
Corlys has a brother, but he's the elder of the two. He considers himself a 'second son' in the sense his house House Velaryon is always seen as second best to House Targayen.
I feel like Corlys is going to be another character made of littlefinger
He’s not. Coryls will be a MUCH better man and character then little finger completely! Just you wait and see as Corlys is ALREADY a great character in this show already based on what he’s shown and done! He’s fantastic and he’s one of my favorites from how phenomenal he is!
@@Gadget-WalkmenAnd much much smarter. Corlys didn't have to scheme or manipulate to steal someone else's wealth or power. He built all that for his house himself and his house from scratch from 0 to a 100.
@@Not-Ap which is what makes Coryls AWESOME throughout because he’s so incredible as he is!
Daemon embodies all of us who has siblings : ,, yeah i maybe irritate, annoy my brothers or sisters, but if you are not a family member, dont you F dare say something bad about them while i am here,,
I will speak of my brother as I wish.
You will not.
Just wait until another second son make his appearance in the show!!
Aemond One Eye!
Daemon will plug Dark Sister through that one good eye and Kill Vhagar along the ride !
the second sons, interesting
Daemon and oberyn are one and the same
That is a good comparison! Daemon seems more cruel than Oberyn though, also more ambitious
@@ahmorgan both are second sons, bisexual and great warriors.only difference is that one has a dragon
@@unathisilo4941 Daemon is bisexual?
@@craigarkensaw yep
He says his house were never Dragonriders, but his wife is a Dragonrider as is his son and in time so too his daughter.
His wife, son, and daughter have targeryan blood.
He’s talking about Velaryons who have no Targaryen blood.
That still doesn’t mean he can. Only those with Targaryen blood can ride dragons, which means Corlys and his brother, or any other offsprings they have that aren’t Targaryen, can’t ride dragons and never have
Same cloth? Seriously Daemond didn't built anything he was given by it.
It's called a sales pitch. Lord Corlys is at risk of losing everything and he needs Daemon's help.
Why didn’t corlys claim a dragon
His family where never dragon lords however his wife is a targ so his kids have the blood of the dragon
I have yet to understand how you kill or feed people with or to crabs. WTF.
They show it in the show but basically they nail the people down so they’re unable to move and then they put crabs on their bodies and the crabs instinctively start pinching at the face like the eyes or nose or lips etc. It’s meant to torture the victims and make them die a slow agonizing death from blood loss or starvation rather than the crabs actually killing them
