Pro time. Go talk to the bartender. You will be on that cruise for multiple days. Make them happy and appreciated. I once complimented one of the guys tattoos and had a quick 5 min conversation. And whenever I went back had a conversation if it's not super busy. Got a free drink and the rest of the drinks I got from him could have tranquilized an elephant.

I have never heard of a shaken and strained daiquiri in Louisiana. All of ours are, I guess, similar to a slurpee, but more alcohol and different flavors.
Yes, one of my biggest complaints. They don't know. They usually say they have no strawberries. LOL. Now, I don't mind the bottled lime juice. Even the Uneducated Barfly got all confused on his taste test. Some brands are better than others. I hate when they use Rose's Sweetened Lime. It's as bad as sour mix. However, on a good note, the Gimlet has made a resurgence. I can just say "It's a gimlet with rum instead of vodka or gin".

There will be literal soap residue left on the glass...or worse lipstick. ..if theyre using a dirty glass i leave. There's no point in asking for a clean glass at that point, that tells me there probably isnt one behind the bar.

I got into tiki drinks a couple summers ago and got the glasses and everything but the booze that really made a difference was Hamilton rum blend so it has a lot of the different rums you would use in drinks all blended together. Some of that with a high proof rum usually dark but sometimes I'll use it light overproof. Then you get into the different liqueurs spices. Man, tiki drinks can be something awesome when done right with good fresh ingredients.

I was on an older Carnival ship that had a Cuban rum bar and a mxiology cocktail bar. The rum bar made real Cuba Libres an mojitos from fresh ingredients and the mixology bar had 3 real well trained bar tenders that made legit cocktails and had a hand crafted menu. On the 3rd day of the cruise they invited a handful of guests who frequented the bar to a free mixology class. Most of the bars though only have sugary swill.

So not a single second of the cruise was I sober. We got to our room and drank even more. I even went to the night club and nobody realized I was underage. It was great. Never had so much fun anywhere.

There’s a Mexican restaurant that I’ve been going to since I was three. They make their own tequila. They are VERY generous with the alcohol. Depending on who’s working that night, and how nice you are, they’ll make your drink EXTRA nice for you.(They won’t if you tell them not to though). They were so excited to celebrate my 21st BDay with me that they didn’t even charge me for my first legally bought drink. (In some states, you’re allowed to drink under 21 in the presence of a parent/guardian but it depends on the establishment).
1.5oz white rum or dark, 1oz pinaple rum, .75oz lime, .75oz coconut syrup, 1.5oz pinaple juice of choice. Shake over ice and pour. (Shakers: ~$10, syrup: ~10). Now you can go make your own. Feel free to adjust ingredients to build it more your way, but that'll get you started.
The last cruise I took, the bartender at the martini bar was surprised at high my talorance was. Wife jokingly told him, "good luck getting him drunk, only seen him drunk a few times in 20+ years." Praveen (bartenders name) took that as a challenge and started looking for ways to make amazingly strong, but tasty drinks. To this day, it was one of my most favorite vacations.

I’m a big dude 6’6” 260lbs and I remember seeing people walk around with coconuts cut open drinking from them and I’m like OHHH I want that, I find a little bar stand out by the pool that seem like it was not very popular around 8ish. For some reason they had all the pools and hot tubs closed the entire duration of the cruise and a lot of people were pissed about that i imagine and the deck was moderately empty. So i walk up to this little bar stand and ask the barkeep if I could get one of those Coconuts he said oh you want the Long Island iced tea, i gotchu and grinned at me. He hands over the drink and I tell you what I can’t tell you if I was drugged or what but that single Long Island tea had me FUCKED up. I finished it idk where my damn coconut even went. I just remember the ship violently swaying side to side me trying to find my room on all of the many different floors. The ship wasn’t actually violently swaying it was just me leaning on the wall trying to walk. I remember asking an older couple, Does it feel like the ship is leaning over to you? Lol ofc they laughed at me it was pretty funny I don’t remember how I even made it back to my room but I remember I slept till the remainder of the cruise when I found my way back. 😂

Ha I remember my first trip on my cruise to the Bahamas. I’m a big dude 6’6” 260lbs and I remember seeing people walk around with coconuts cut open drinking from them and I’m like OHHH I want that, I find a little bar stand out by the pool that seem like it was not very popular around 8ish. For some reason they had all the pools and hot tubs closed the entire duration of the cruise and a lot of people were pissed about that i imagine and the deck was moderately empty. So i walk up to this little bar stand and ask the barkeep if I could get one of those Coconuts he said oh you want the Long Island iced tea, i gotchu and grinned at me. He hands over the drink and I tell you what I can’t tell you if I was drugged or what but that single Long Island tea had me FUCKED up. I finished it idk where my damn coconut even went. I just remember the ship violently swaying side to side me trying to find my room on all of the many different floors. The ship wasn’t actually violently swaying it was just me leaning on the wall trying to walk. I remember asking an older couple, Does it feel like the ship is leaning over to you? Lol ofc they laughed at me it was pretty funny I don’t remember how I even made it back to my room but I remember I slept till the remainder of the cruise when I found my way back. 😂
I went on a cruise back in may and I got cool with all the bartenders the first night . Was getting free drinks and shots my whole trip ofc I had paid for some but yeah . Just be polite go talk to them for a bit you’ll have a blast . Drink packages are low key a scam it’s impossible to drink all the drinks solo .
