Tony you are right about the double albums, but you also have to remember that double albums where almost 10 bucks more expensive than regular albums,so maybe the “double count sale” is valid
Lol nah it doesn’t work like that. You HAD to get both albums in a double CD. The customer doesn’t have a choice in the matter….even if you think one of the two albums suck.😆
@@jwdathefax377 you actually made the originators of the post comments point, purchasing the second because they were together, added to point sales which a lot of time contributed to the double point sale.
@@dannideva2002 Well I assumed the reason he even bothered to point that out was because he disagreed with Tony separating them, hence the “but you also have to remember…” part, otherwise…..DUHHH😆 My response was to why Tony might’ve separated them. What you just said, Tony already acknowledged.
@@jwdathefax377 But see to me, that's a credit to the album if I as the consumer knows its double the price and I still purchase it anyway, that means it's gotta be good or at least I believe going in it will be. So to me those should still count on the list.
As soon as I saw Speakerboxx/Love Below pop up at #3, I knew the Beastie Boys had snatched the top spot! Was surprised PE or Tribe or De La didn’t make it to the 3MM Club 😮
QUESTION: I would love your thoughts on Nas' FANTASTIC run in the last couple of years. Especially the 3 run album (does Magic count in there?) and who else has done that? The only active "30" year club artists that I can think of are Em, Tech N9ne I listen to everything he does) and Nas.
36 chambers all day. Absolutely a huge fan. You cracked my top 5 of All-time for sure. Got a chance to catch your show in Cleveland, Hilarious. Also those bakery shirts are good quality t-shirts. Good fit. Keep doing your thing pound for pound your One of the Greats!!
For E. 1999 Eternal, I think the first million might have been from the original pressing that didn't have "Tha Crossroads" remix that they are known for. They released that single after they had already released the album. The single was so big that they re-pressed the album with that track replacing the original "Crossroads" song.
They should've added the remix as a bonus track. The first version is darker but I love them both. I wonder why they don't have both on streaming services too.
Both btnh albums, salt n Pepa and nwa were my favorites on this list. I only bought Outkast's first album Southernplayalistic because they wore them other albums out on the radio and I was sick of it! 🤣
Great show, I like getting this information...now let's settle that "King of Pop" argument...let's do the pop albums...gimme that Michael, is Chris Brown pop... what we looking like with those numbers.
The fact that tribe didn't recieve the same commercial success is sad. I know at least three of the albums on this list were directly birthed from QTip's production.
here's a few ideas, spittballing here... most NBA player (or any profession players) shoes sold, any generation; most Pro-sport player Jersey sold, all-time; all-time top grossing video game consoles ever sold; Top ten domestic cars sold (american or any). 🤙
And pretty pls include singles from the albums to provide greater perspective of what that album offered the masses... This is stupendous otherwise. We love you Tony Baker
I paused ur vid and gave it sum thought. In no particular order. Nwa. Bone thugs. OutKast. Tribe called quest. Wutang. Public enemy. curious if u will consider Cash money click and no limit soldiers as a group or a record label
I guess it's different based on what vibes with your own personal conscience. For me it is Stankonoa and then the Score for me. Both are hard and true re-listens. No skips
I'm actually surprised Wu Tang Forever didn't make the list. Thought it sold more than 3 million copies. Also no Mobb Deep, The Lox, Dogg Pound, Dip Set, Griselda
Bones east1999 eternal actually sound 9 million they brought it back out after the crossroads remake n sold 4 more million so a total of 9.1 to be exact thats why your getting 4 and 5 million because it was kinda of consider 2 different albums its weird how it works but technically it sold 9 million
Bone and 'new sound' don't go together. They bit Freestyle Fellowship. Easy-E would go video record Project Blowed artists and his acts would study the tapes and copy the patterns. (Cube's early work sounds nothing like his later work after studying Volume 10)
One of the Greatest Comedians. ✊🏽 I appreciate your work.
Est 1999 Eternal is my favorite. Forever a BT&H fan!
Tony you are right about the double albums, but you also have to remember that double albums where almost 10 bucks more expensive than regular albums,so maybe the “double count sale” is valid
Professional Sinnerz, you stole my thunder…lol
But yes I do remember paying double for double CDs (Albums), vividly remember Life after Death…lol

Eternal is my favorite hip-hop group albums. And Bone Thugs-N-Harmony themselves are in my top 5 rap groups. I usually don't consider duos groups tho.
Thanks Tony! I thoroughly enjoyed this! 🙏🏼✌🏼❤️
