Excellent review. No nonsense, straight down the line and snappy all bells and whistles info and details. Own the previous model when it came out, I’ve loved it. Apart from all the other stuff that makes this a great car, it’s the i-cockpit experience that makes it a dream to drive. Got the 1.2 three cylinder petrol, keeps with everything on the outside lane. I love the wheel, jack up the seat for a great road view. Been driving 52 years. Thanks for the review..
i have the 2018 pre facelift 2.0 GT and i love my car front more than this new one,i think it looks more unique best car i've ever owned, bargain for the money, timeless design inside and out and very reliable, just passed 200000km with mine, sports mode is another story and oh yeah watching this great review by being massaged in my 3008
I live in France. Apparently you're not getting the same car in England as we are getting here. First; the autonomy. On full electric, the official Peugeot figure is 55 kilometres (34 miles). Most of the reviews here (France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany) say 40-50kms, (40kms=25mi). I live in the mountains and am getting 40kms, which is double the 12 miles he states in this video! Secondly, I was supplied with a cable which you can plug into an ordinary (16amp) wall socket and recharge a fully depleted battery in 7 hours; very handy for overnight charging. Thirdly, you can recharge the battery while rolling; useful in the future when fossil fuel driving will be banned in town centres. As far as the steering-wheel is concerned, it IS smaller, but you get used to that. To see the instrument panel, you just have to raise your seat. you will be able to see it before hitting the roof. It is not good if you want the wheel in front of you're face (why?) or if you are a dwarf. Otherwise, I agree, a great car to drive.
I also test drove it for a full day and we got 46km in fully electric so I don't know where he got 12 miles from... And when the battery is depleted it still keeps working as a hybrid since it's recharging while driving. I even did a full acceleration with 0km range and it didn't feel any slower... And it keeps shutting off the engine at times and uses the electric motor even in 0 range.
Hey! I have ordered a GT version but HDi blue diesel in gorgeous Celebes colour. Cannot wait to receive mine. It’s a beautiful stunning car. Love every angle and little quirks. I currently have a mark 1 3008. To say I love this car is an understatement. The level of comfort they bring is second to none. And the range on the diesel fuel is outstanding. It will be a wrench to part with my current 3008 and switch to the new one. My vehicle doesn’t have stop start so I hope to save even more fuel with the new version. Hope it goes even further than my current one Exiting times and thank you for your honest review
What a cracking review. Just ordered my 22 plate to replace my 18 plate. Crackin family car and from drivers perspective i would struggle to find anything to rival the finish and the icockpit
I sat in a 3008 in the showroom, and the instruments were clearly visble over the top of the steering wheel, without any compromise on the driving position. I thought the whole idea of an SUV was to sit high anyway. Took one for a test drive and placed an order.
I like the way you talk about this beautiful car. I actually got a 3008 last week and it has been fantastic. I am Taiwanese and live in northern Taiwan.
I really enjoyed this review. You covered and explained a lot more than a lot of other review channels do.I'm undecided between a 3008 GT line premium or a Volvo xc60 obviously big difference in price and I would be buying a used one probably (2018) any comments on the 2 cars?
As you’re probably aware I’ve reviewed by Cars and I really think both cars perform very well. However and there’s always a however I think The Volvo might be just that little bit more comfortable and if the secondhand market price isn’t much different I might actually be swayed towards the Volvo. The Volvo also carries a little bit more status I hate to say it but it’s true. Both cars are really good at the end of the day but I think the Volvo just slightly has the edge. My only grip is the bonnet is not heavy am 5'7" and i lifted it today to put in some oil with one arm. Maybe its the fact the car is to high as you lift it up towards the main window screen!? Had a merceedees but awaiting hip replacement and getting in and out became impossible due to car being so low so purchased 23 plate 3008 and what an impressive car it is the interior is actually superior to the merc
I bought one of these after they first come out,2017.That was after reading a review by Chris Evans.I can honestly say it is one of the best cars I have ever driven and ow ned. And that includes the many Range Rovers that I had in the past.I will NOT give this car back, sell it or otherwise;it is just TOO GOOD.BTW I am 74 years and a petrolhead.
Nice review. Wish you had the electric battery charged so you could give it some welly and really show the 300bhp in action. I have the 3008 GT Line 1.6 THP 2017 model and had it for 3 years now. I love the car and it’s my 5th Peugeot so far. I have 1 year left on my PCP but really don’t know what to do and whether I should buy it outright or upgrade to this hybrid 4 version? When I upgrade my cars I like to feel like I’m in something different each time though. The thought of having a 300bhp engine though sounds awesome. Only issue I have is I don’t have a drive way and live on a Cul De Sac so a home charger is out of the question which would mean having to rely on Supermarket chargers. 🤔 What would you recommend?
I have to be completely honest here and I would not recommend you buy an electric car as unfortunately you definitely need a way of charging overnight and the current situation with public chargers is very hit and miss.
@@AJThePlayerRUclipsChannel Thank you AJ. I appreciate the advice. I think I will just keep my current 3008 a few more years as I do love the car and I suppose once I’ve paid the balloon payment off then I will be car finance free for the first time in years.
I’ve got the GT Line as a hire car at the moment and agree with your comments. Lovely comfortable car but that steering wheel takes some getting used too!
Must be pre facelift you’ve got/had as a hire car as there isn’t a GT Line trim level on the model in the review, they dropped it as a trim level in the facelift. They even have now dropped it on the new 2008 despite it initially being a trim level name, they’ve changed the GT to GT Premium and changed the GT Line to GT. Just a marketing way of removing things and disguising price changes by playing with trim names. Either way the pre facelift and facelift drive the same so your experience is the same whichever you drive. I got used to the small steering wheel really quick and struggle more driving our other car as the car is almost half the size but the wheel feels like I’m steering a ship.
I’d recommend the auto if you look to change for another 3008. I got the auto as the need to have an auto was the reason I changed cars, but it’s really surprised me and I won’t buy a manual again. Also look at Allure Premium upwards on the facelift as amongst other additions the Allure I believe still has the 8” screen where from the Premium up you get the 10”.
Can I ask why the allure? I am currently ordering a GT version which I was told it was better than the Allure but seen a few people on here mentioning the Allure
What a great review, so nearly there on buying one. Vertigo Blue GT Plug In. Some one needs to give me a push (4 month wait) as I’ll be saying goodbye to a Lexus NX which is absolutely beautiful. Am I mad?
French cars has never been my cup of tea. There are too many problems with the electronics and much more.Especially Citroen is bad, but the Peugeot shares many parts with the Citroen .What is a plus with French cars are the suspension which gives a comfortable ride.I think that Renault is the best French car.I prefer cars from Japan, because there are not any problems with them.
it is a pity that this is another review of the top model, less than 5% buys the 4x4, even so less then 10% buys a hybrid. I am sure that a next review will tell something about the models we do buy.
Have they dropped the 2 litre diesel auto with 180 PS? The reason I ask is it had 295 lb/ft of tourque which as a caravanner is really needed for towing. The smaller diesel has less torque unfortunately, and looses a bit of weight in the process, also not a benefit to caravanners but obviously aimed at economy.
I have a 2022 Peugeot 3008GT HDi (2.0L diesel) I live in Australia and 2022 is the last of the diesels in Australia. The bast engine ever put into a Peugeot. Impossible to kill it.
There is no GT Line on the facelift as they’ve dropped that trim level even on the new 2008 which initially had it (GT Line has gone, the old GT is now GT Premium, the old GT Line is now GT). In the U.K. on the facelift, the 3008 trim levels it’s Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, GT, GT Premium.
