The red sandstone and carvings make this place unique. The size is also very manageable compared to the Baton style temples. If you want to compare here is one of the larger temples built in the 12th century. It’s probably top 3 for me. I still would say Angkor Wat is the top just because of the size, styling and the huge murals. I like Pre Rup and Bayon with the 206 faces. All of them are amazing and I was lucky to be able to visit them.
The temple is small but it’s not overwhelming like the Bayon temples that were built later. The red sandstone also sets it apart. When you go make the effort to go here for sure.
It’s not as grand as the other temples in Angkor but the stone work is absolutely amazing. I’ve been here 3 times and I will visit it again also. It really is amazing what people can create. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I hope you can visit it again soon. Life has a way of throwing things in the way and the next thing you know 10 or 20 years have passed. Part of getting old I guess. Lol
I would love to see this area. I will have to do it in the future. I would love to see these 7th century temples. This is part of the Khmer history I don’t know much about but would love to learn.
"Tattoo" is an Indian form of tattooing that is believed to provide protection, good luck and strength. Over the centuries, this tradition has spread to Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. Most people think that these are Thai tattoos, but they are not Thai tattoos. They use the ancient Khmer script / script (Khmer language) of the Khmer Empire. I was learning about Cambodia when I got a tattoo in Thailand, which is why I chose a teacher who could read ancient Khmer so I could have a real tattoo. It is very common for monks to print inverted tattoos on books, so ignorant tourists are not getting real magical powers. The funniest thing is that a Thai boxer is tattooed in Khmer on their body and people think that is their "Thai" language ... it is not a language No Thai! Belonging to Khmer. It is clear to me that Thailand has stolen many aspects of Cambodian culture. That is why Myanmar and Cambodia get along because we have similar experiences. Myanmar and Cambodia have been in the shadows of the world for many years due to geopolitical and economic factors, and during this time Thailand rewrote its history and stole many other aspects of ASEAN culture. Unexpectedly, 10 years later, I got a Khmer tattoo, now I will go to Cambodia on November 5 to fight for the national championship. I was invited by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia to pay a courtesy call before the match. I think my "tattoo" really gives me good luck 😉 Friendship between Myanmar and Cambodia. I am Cambodian, and I want to tell you a little bit about Thais. Thais always say that Khmer culture belongs to them, whether it is dance, script, culture, language, territory, martial arts, etc., even though their country was only born in the 13th century. Cambodia was born in the first century. Thais have always claimed that Khmer ancient temples belong to them; they do not even recognize the fact that even Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which has been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1992, is their temple, although Angkor Wat was built before Thailand was born. Meanwhile, on social media, some Thai people post bad things about Cambodia almost every day.
I have seen many of these posts. I don’t understand it because the history of the region should be shared by all. The Khmer were an important part of the area and their legacy is all over Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.

Ladies temple
It is one of the best temples for the stone carvings. It really is like an art gallery. Thanks for watching!
