I relocated to my hometown... no positive change. I've learned it's more about the people you are reaching out to than the people in your specific area. Accept the things you can't change and the things you can. Relocating may be helpful in some situations... but sometimes it does not meet the goals you think it will. Even if you have a lot of family or friendly people in the area you relocate to, there are always going to be people who value you and do not value you, and it's all relative.

Sometimes your "value" might be difficult to pinpoint, because it might be something like emotional attunement, presence, intuition, spirituality etc. And your parents might not value this because they associate it with things like lack of control, shame, not matching their self image... They might not directly discourage it, but just ignore it and try to encourage other qualities.
New Earthlings, Narcissism? Insanity? Pure dysfunction for sure. After decades of trying to deal with the dysfunction, I now wish I'd left and cut off contact with anyone blood related the moment I graduated from high school.
No-one intentionally chooses to have low self-esteem, it's usually an effect of negative conditioning. But until we learn to overcome it by loving and accepting ourselves as we are, we'll never progress.
This is very valuable for me now. I realized my relationships were incompatible because there was a huge difference between what the other person valued in me and what I wanted to be valued for, also vice versa.

I came to a similar conclusion regarding value when I devoted a New Years resolution about self-worth in 2018. I realized that the biggest challenge for my self-worth and self-love was the chronic wound of rejection. It was so important to embrace these rejection feelings for me to reach the state of unconditional self-love. Rejection helped me meet my fears and befriend them. Suddenly the reasons I felt worthless began to melt away. Shadow work!!! Value is based on need and I need me! I mean I am needed by others but ultimately I’m in a feedback loop where pleasure, desire and expansion echo the gratitude I have for my embodiment. No longer suicidal (not afraid of being suicidal) I have emerged a little bit more able to see what I do or have the potential to be. Thank you Teal because you’re the first person I trusted to show me a different, more pleasurable aspect of being in relationship to self-love and how to do it. It didn’t work all the time but it worked enough for me to get started. I love you.
The whole point of this video ultimately, is that although connection and community is very important, our SELF value is vital. We are the ones who ultimately control our own needs being met so we should value ourselves humbly but hugely. Our own value to ourselves should be everything, the of course go looking for others who need who we are. Always remember tho, if/when their needs change, your value *to them* decreases. Your value to yourself should always be primary tho, because you’ll never not need yourself. And of course because we are magical, beautiful and magnificent.
I realised that I need myself, the qualities I have are exactly what I would look for in a person. Therefore I can appreciate myself and to me I worth a lot and It is evidenced that there are people (although not many) who also appreciate me for those qualities in reality.That’s enough. My self-esteem issue comes from a place that I did not see my own values, I base my values on how others see them, their needs. But the truth is I do have a lot of worth to me and I can see that now. This is something every one of us needs to hear and realise. It's taken my whole life to realise that sometimes real family isn't the family I was born into. It's a losing battle trying to gain love and validation from people who don't value the kind of worth you have.
You guys ....how to develop self-worth & real value? Give up the need to be validated by people who don't resonate with your truth. Listen to your heart. Follow your emotional guidance system and act on what Feels right for you personally, this behavior will always amplify synchronicity, allowing you to attract the people who really get you for you ...and see your inherent value completely. I totally recomend you guys to read Non Violent Communication from Marshall Rosenberg. It's a gold book that teaches us to get in contact with our needs and to develop much better relationships. It was life changing to me as I value self growing and self knowledge.
I recently discovered Teal and can't have enough of her teaching. Teal, thank you for all your time and effort to make your wisdom available to many. This video in particular resonated with me since my insecurities were generated by my confusion about my self worth. The realization that the worth is determined by someone's needs in a given situation, created an immediate shift in my consciousness and neutralized some of my insecurities. Imagining situations in which I used to feel insecure (fearful, rejected, devastated) now simply feel uncomfortable as if being mis-matched. Thank you Teal.

I’ve watched this video at least 5 times because I wanted to remind myself that isn’t my fault that someone’s not seeing my value. They don’t need what I can naturally provide. Therefore, I’m changing my work environment as there’s someone who values what I can provide. Interesting too that the word "worship" started out as "worth-ship" - recognizing the "worth"of everyone and everything. "Ship" like in friendship, relationship, etc. (the state of...) The state of recognizing worth. It got hijacked by religion and turned into "worship" which turns worth over to some "higher being" to whom we must bow.

We need each other and in that need is utility (use) If you look at using each other like a disposable item: use it and throw it away the world looks bleak and selfish Nature never throws anything away (even the things we throw away are still part of the universe). Every species needs/uses others species. Every cell needs/uses nearly every other type of cell (in direct and indirect ways). There is no right or wrong cell or species.
I remember, when I was a teenager, I really wanted to have social connections so I adapted myself to their values, but it was so painful for me to do what everybody was doing (I even thought it was absurd) that I decided to be myself and be happy even if that meant to be alone and be seen like an alien.
Sometimes it just feels good to know that there's people out there who have just as many questions as I do. I am not the only one struggling with philosophical, deep questions...
Wow. One of my goals this full moon is to let go of my ideams and beliefs of what people mean to me. I've been feeling my attachments to people's behaviour shift and this was so needed, I've never felt more alone but more secure in myself and my own love and appreciation. The value i had for my parents was limited competency. Enough to parent them, but not enough to develop as a talented self directed individual. Ive mined this capacity to sell to employers and partners comfortable to exploit my lack of integrity, in order to feel safe. I understand the codependancy as a contractual dynamic & recognise its all ive ever known in relationship. I sense there's a me ive never met & fear i never will. Over a year ago I watched this video due to a friend showing me this channel and it genuinely made me feel happy and felt needed for months on end. When COVID started shortly after I felt I really lost a lot of motivation and the love of the people that loved me, including her. After getting a job and feeling nervous their needs clashed with my values, I realized that this video was a lot more than what I initially took from it being "self-worth is subjective". I just feel really thankful to Teal Swan for having these videos up on RUclips in confusing and rough times and I will continue to provide the needs to people that seek those needs and (hopefully) feel better :)

I think I've almost always thought that I was worthless, and had really low self-esteem, even though in my twenties I was quite beautiful, and my culture tells me if I am beautiful I should be wanted everywhere and therefore have a high self esteem. I so miss Wayne Dyer. I read his first book in 1974 when a therapist gave it to me. It was paradigm changing for the whole world. After Dyer I found Teal. I don’t get on board with teachers quickly. They don’t need what I can naturally provide. Therefore, I’m changing my work environment as there’s someone who values what I can provide. This was the first thing my future employer told me 😊

Interesting too that the word "worship" started out as "worth-ship" - recognizing the "worth"of everyone and everything. "Ship" like in friendship, relationship, etc. (the state of...) The state of recognizing worth. It got hijacked by religion and turned into "worship" which turns worth over to some "higher being" to whom we must bow.
When we GET THIS for ourselves, our world changes, you start to see the inherent worth of EVERYONE and the interconnected worth
When enough of us get this, our world changes, drastically and rapidly
We do not need to change or have others change, we only need to help ourselves and others find where we are valued, as we are

Nature never throws anything away (even the things we throw away are still part of the universe). Every species needs/uses others species. Every cell needs/uses nearly every other type of cell (in direct and indirect ways). There is no right or wrong cell or species.

I remember, when I was a teenager, I really wanted to have social connections so I adapted myself to their values, but it was so painful for me to do what everybody was doing (I even thought it was absurd) that I decided to be myself and be happy even if that meant to be alone and be seen like an alien.

Wow. One of my goals this full moon is to let go of my ideams and beliefs of what people mean to me. I've been feeling my attachments to people's behaviour shift and this was so needed, I've never felt more alone but more secure in myself and my own love and appreciation. I'm learning to let my own attention be enough ♡ I need me I want me I love me and anyone else that chooses to value me based on my inherent worth is a blessing ♡

The value i had for my parents was limited competency. Enough to parent them, but not enough to develop as a talented self directed individual. I understand the codependancy as a contractual dynamic & recognise its all ive ever known in relationship. I sense there's a me ive never met & fear i never will. Over a year ago I watched this video due to a friend showing me this channel and it genuinely made me feel happy and felt needed for months on end. When COVID started shortly after I felt I really lost a lot of motivation and the love of the people that loved me, including her. After getting a job and feeling nervous their needs clashed with my values, I realized that this video was a lot more than what I initially took from it being "self-worth is subjective". I just feel really thankful to Teal Swan for having these videos up on RUclips in confusing and rough times and I will continue to provide the needs to people that seek those needs and (hopefully) feel better :)

I think I've almost always thought that I was worthless, and had really low self-esteem, even though in my twenties I was quite beautiful, and my culture tells me if I am beautiful I should be wanted everywhere and therefore have a high self esteem. But I was never wanted at home as what I really was. Thanks for the analogy of the horse. It really hit home. The whole video did. Thanks a lot.

I just started to become aware that self value was a hot topic for me so I am glad this video came out. I remember last week saying to myself "does anyone see my value?!?". This is the concept that I used to let it be okay to be emotionally adopted by my new momma. Let someone who sees your value and wants you as you are, love you.
