YOu mentioned that the oil filter should be changed every other oil change which is wild to me because I'm used to changing the filter with the oil to prevent cycling the clean oil through a dirty filter.

I think the changing of oil every 100 hours is super overkill, it's also a very large filter for this engine. I'm guessing these are the reasons. But how knows 😆 🤣

Yes you are right, all around a better generator. Also very good on fuel

With that engine it should last a very long time. This has been a low sun year for sure but still around my average for production.

Very nice generator can you run it through the day and top your batteries off so you can shut it off through the night

thats what I am currently doing :) I has been working very well so far. I think it will last 10 times longer then my old diesel generator would of.

That engine looks beautiful. Will it handle being in the frozen outside or will you put inside a shed.
Can you connect the 12v generator battery to the batteries in the shed so if the generator battery fails, you can still start the engine.
Sweet, there did not look like any particulates in the oil on ya cloth.
May I ask what part of Canada do you live ?
    Take care, Stay safe.

    That's a beauty! Purr's like a kitten!
What's the reason for getting the new generator? Not enough power before black smoking from the Chinese one? Probably all this bad weather means you need something better and more guaranteed to be reliable, am I right?
    Stay charged my brother!

Yes, I did not have the confidence in the othe one as I had to take days off work to get it working.

@@GoingOffGrid101 ah that makes sense. Can't be worrying about it. Spend the money on a good generator to keep from losing money on the old one. 👍

Nice generator. Is it 3600 or 1800 rpm?

    • @GoingOffGrid101
      @GoingOffGrid101  10 месяцев назад

I'm not sure, the 3 cylinder makes it sound like it's a high rpm I'll have to look it up

Hard to find diesel generators any more. Most of the time its either over priced china generators that run 1500+ for something thats no better than a harbor freight generator or 5-10k industrial models. I'd kill for a modestly priced 1800 rpm generator. Something in the 5-8 kw range.
