Aurungzeb predecessor were smart rulers, who maintained peace with non-muslims subjects and hence were able to continue so long. They never enforced Quran words about infidels on non-muslims. Aurangzeb's India was same as Syria under ISIS...and resistance and back fight was without question going to happen...

When we visited Taj, the guide said shah jahan didn't cut the hands of labor but threatened them if they build same anywhere, he would cut their hands... shah jahan wanted to build black Tajmahal just like the white one, so aurangazeed jailed him so that he wouldn't spend more for another Tajmahal... he jailed shahjahan just opposite to Tajmahal and shahjans daughter who looked alike her mother mumtaz would tc of him till death and that her mother's last wish...

He also married a 13 year old girl who was his astrologer's daughter, while he was 58 years old at that time. Later, after the imprisonment of Shah Jahan, this girl poured acid on her face with her own hands so that she could not be further extorted by Aurangzeb.

In short, wherever and whenever there are discontented people, it is opportunity to grab power by next guy...and Aurangzeb grabed it. He knew he will have support of army and people as everyone was angry against Shah Jahan....
Aurangzeb didn't do it because he cared for people...He did it because he was power hungry....In fact, it was Aurangzeb who laid foundation to destroy Mughal empire...He wanted absolute power, which led to war with many small and big rulers in his empire as well as with other kingdoms, on borders of empire. This non stop wars ultimately weaken Mughal empire and British got advantage of it and they finally were able to put final nail to coffin...
@@ankitaroy4727 I think that was the problem..He followed Quran word by word and since Quran mention to slit and forcefully convert infidels at edge of sword, he followed those words, instead of using logic. Non muslim military rise against mughuls happened during his rule..Shivaji, Guru Nanak etc... Aurungzeb predecessor were smart rulers, who maintained peace with non-muslims subjects and hence were able to continue so long. They never enforced Quran words about infidels on non-muslims.
Aurangzeb's India was same as Syria under ISIS...and resistance and back fight was without question going to happen...

When we visited Taj, the guide said shah jahan didn't cut the hands of labor but threatened them if they build same anywhere, he would cut their hands... shah jahan wanted to build black Tajmahal just like the white one, so aurangazeed jailed him so that he wouldn't spend more for another Tajmahal... he jailed shahjahan just opposite to Tajmahal and shahjans daughter who looked alike her mother mumtaz would tc of him till death and that her mother's last wish...
