@@malcontent_1 ... and she has a genuinely elite, Olympic standard, runner for a sister! A world class family ... with a very funny and wonderful father who speaks very rapidly. Thank goodness for her mother!
What a fantastically enjoyable and inspirational video Amy. Well done on such a quick time. Going to show this video to my daughter Anja, who has just started her training plan for next year's London Marathon. After 12 previous unsuccessful applications in the ballot, she finally got in on her 13th try. She has actually decided to run it in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association..... which has become closer to her heart after one of my best friends was diagnosed in July 2023. In a lot of ways she is quite like you Amy. Seems to doubt herself...... but always perseveres. She'll find this video very motivating for sure.
Ahh thank you so much! Wow a marathon that’s another level, say a massive good luck from me, I’m sure doing it for such a good cause will help spur her on! Have a lovely weekend ☺️
As an ex Olympic marathon runner very impressive girl to hold the camera and talk all the way everyone on this channel should be proud of you . Well done sweetheart. Now come on Kyle now it's your turn mate
I am in awe of what you keep achieving Amy. No matter the aches and pains you keep going. Well done, not only for finishing, but finishing 3rd and a PB
Amy; u r all the time number one🎉 Cong champ. Thousands of times heartfelt greetings from Turkey. ❤ No, it can't be. I'm so sorry about your foot. I hope you get better soon.
3rd ! Great result, especially in those conditions with still a bit of CovFluNovoMonkeyPox lurgy ! Next run you do, don't spare the dosh ( or sponsor ! :) ) on the best anti blister "High end" running sock. Well worth the extra. Wise move leaving Chester. Well done Amy 🌧🌧 🏃♂️
Congratulations Amy on a fantastic achievement in such bad conditions, you should be so proud of yourself. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I must say it’s a pleasure to see such a lovely couple doing the things they love the best. I’m loving the mix of the cycling and now your running, are we doing swimming next and then maybe a triathlon ? You seem to have a good circle of friends around you and great support from Kyle which is nice to see, also love to see chilled out Chester my kind of dog. You must of had some influence on me as now if I pass a field on my bike or in the car I can’t help but call out Sheepies !!!. Stay safe you two and hope you have a wonderful Christmas and new year, until the next one. Steve.
Ahh thank you so much! This is so lovely to read, would love to to a triathlon but not enough time to properly train as I have some bike goals for next year! But maybe in the future ☺️ yes very grateful for my friends & family! Glad to hear you’re saying hi to the sheepie 😂 have a great Christmas🎄🎄
I used to run and cycle. I’d never ever go out on the bike in the wet, but running in the rain never bothered me. Had goretex shoes and a goretex running jacket and loved it. Can’t run now through a bad back, so choose my days to ride carefully around the weather forecast. ☀️
Your general fitness is clearly excellent .... from a lot of hard work and because you appear to be a lot healthier. For me, this is the real celebration to your change in eating. Brilliant. Your determination is clear. The time was superb. Running with your feet in that condition .... hmmmm ... but what else could you do other than push to the end. Great video .. blisters 'n all.
The best runner I know was an endurance cyclist for many years. Because of all the hours in zone 2 his fitness is elite and when he turned to running he was instantly amazing lol I reckon you're the same.
@@amy.cycling.adventures Just for clarity, I mean that if you wear those socks AND your feet are not moving in the shoes, you are unlikely to get a blister. I did not word my comment well. I confess I skipped the blister part of the video :) I was eating dinner.
Very brave Amy but try Moleskin foot tape, maybe now is a good time to become a product tester, I would also check the type of sock wear and whether your trainers have a seam which is aggravating the soft and wet skin. Running is a tough sport, well done Amy.
Never say never but King Kyle looks like a genuinely powerful cyclist! Amy is lucky as she has the build for both (and very good too) but speaking from experience your body generally lets you know which works best for you…
Young lady, you have better initiative more than I. Gave up competitive running due to breaking too many toes. That was the main reason I took up cycling. Enjoy the videos nonetheless.
Nice one! I’m also a cyclist but running over the winter. Got a trail marathon coming up in Feb and will be my first. Enjoying running as less time needed and better to be outside than on the turbo!
😊 Knowing you as we do, when you said: _I'm _*_just_*_ going to get around_ ... *_not_*_ going to race_ I'm sure I wasn't the only one w/ an involuntary eye-roll -- the most competitive/"non-competitive" person
Brilliant result. Watching this as I’m on my way to do the runthrough chase the moon 10k at the Olympic park. It’s just the motivation I need as I was thinking it’s freezing why am I doing this.
Your hard on yourself! Without seeing the whole video, I see you do it in about 1h30... So 1h40 no too bad! Great going. This was a little bit of a cross country race. A little more difficult then a road race and conditions were horrible... congrats!!!
So impressive. In that weather, some would not even leave the house. Side note, I have had great success with running comfort and no blisters using custom insoles. Maybe they suggest those when you do your running analysis.
Every time at the start your negative thoughts creep in but you overcome them. Lost your snack, dropped your phone and gained a blister. 3rd is a massive achievement in those weather conditions. This is why we love you Amy and you bring a smile to our faces also.
Bloomin' 'eck, Amy!! That was dead impressive!! With brass knobs on I've never really wanted to stand out in the cold and rain to support some nutter running about in a massive storm but this really impressed me. I'm willing to stand three quarters of the way around, or wherever you suggest, on 10th January, holding snacks, gels, hot drinks or whatever you want to get through your wonderful escapades. And I'll get to see how pink Laura's cheeks are after her recent marriage (Hope you had a wonderful day, Laura!)
Amy. Try vasaline all over feet and toes. Thin socks will stick to it then another pair of thin socks on top. The socks rub but not your skin. Old army trick. I've never had blisters. We love your content both. Keep safe.
May I say..take shoes and socks off immediately after finish and disinfect. The alcohol will add a new dimension in pain. The longer an open wound is in sweat and mud the more chance of infection.
Well done Amy (and Kyle for being support team.). We think that you should get a dry robe type of coat, like the sea swimmers have, then you could change out of your dirty, wet clothes . Might save you from catching a cold. Keep up the good work.
Incredible. Not 100%, filming and talking as you run, blister problems and yet you STILL made 3rd place and got a PB. Better yet, you still keep talking sixteen to the dozen. Brilliant. ❤
Just brilliant Amy what a result, well done you! it doesn't matter if you're cycling, running or just talking, it's always great to watch. Don't forget to rest and recover properly you gotta look after yourself and the cod loins!
Thanks so much! 😊 yes the cod loins have been well rested this week, not been able to ride because of the blister 😭 but it’s being bandaged, tomorrow I’m riding 🚴♀️🚴♀️
Do they not have these events in Spring/Summer when it's a bit warmer? Why wait til Winter to start doing these things? Well done anyway. Rather you than me.
Amy just a suggestion use some of that soft verge when available reduce the impact on your joints think long term. I'm still able to run at 70 after running from aged 20 Your feet will toughen up with time.
Chapeau!! 3rd place without doing a half marathon in 5 years is an ungodly level of fitness
