So much technological speculation and focus. While technological advancement will be a component of the future (of course), humanity will be much more concerned with meeting the basic needs of people - a growing population in a declining world. A world with a damaged and changing climate and environment, which will yield less food and less freshwater in many regions. A world of diminishing resources and ever greater potential for disastrous conflict over them. And, as is still largely unrecognized; but is critically important, a world that is being manipulated by intervening forces and groups from beyond the world. The future will be unlike the past, and it will be very challenging. In order to understand this and prepare for it, I recommend the extensive materials published by Marshall Vian Summers.
Yes, I'm a physicist and there are no anti-gravitational particles. So what about dark energy, it repels matter accelerating matter at increasing speed, is that not a form of anti-gravitation?
I'm glad that the presenter has a strap on mic with perfect quality (for all those 20 words she fills in with) while the honourable gentleman who we are all here for has to hold in his hand a cheap knock off mic for the entire 40 minute talk. Well done "talks at Google" - what a remarkable achievement! Good to see that you're putting the hundreds of billions that you syphon out from the global communities to a good use...?
Great talk, with lots to thinks about. Especially his assertion right at the end -- i.e., "We're humans, we have a brain... so we control our destiny." This is not at all a given. We've been here a few [tens or hundreds of] thousand(s) of years and already face HUGE obstacles *of our own making* (in addition to natural disasters/extinction events). Dinosaurs roamed the planet for tens of MILLIONS of years. It's not clear yet that our amazing brain and skills have a great effect on our collective longevity or ability to "control our destiny".
Dinosaurs can't and could not build space stations.(Also dinosaurs didn't go extinct, birds are dinosaurs) Yes we're not guaranteed to survive but we have the best chance out of all the complex organisms in earths history. We have the ability to make it rain to lift are selves beyond the heavens. We can control are future more so than any other life form. Are intelligence gives us a fighting chance were all other creatures only exist to breed and die in an endless static of repetition and eventual destruction. In the grand scheme of things Humans are unique in that we keep progressing and getting better because of are intelligence. This will ether make us gods in the next 100,000 years or kill us before then.

Never mind the veracity of his talks, I should add that I as a person who knows only little about Mr Kaku find him so full of ideas and gallant imagination. On the slippery side, however, I find that he has an answer for everything - his anecdote on type 1, 2, and 3 humans is exhilarating as much as it is quixotic - he has guessed we'd be type 3 humans - the most advanced species that has access to the Planck energy and for whom time and space is unstable - in the next 1,00,000 years. @@FunIsGoingOn Right so that's why if anybody is new to him and wants to know his views on the universe and physics, just watch that video. It's the same info that he's giving today. Don't waste your money to go see him unless it's a panel discussion.
I swear i heard the story about "atom smasher in the garage" like 10 times already
thank you very much sir.🙏
All valid and very useful points. I totally agree!
Ohh man how did I missed this man all of these years...
Fascinating to listen to. We are a young civilization, maybe we can make it.
We? Who's we? You mean the west?
We, the inhabitants of spaceship Earth...
@@zapfanzapfan Yeah, no. Whenever Africans start contributing anything worth a damn to "our" civilization, I'll start taking this hippie crap seriously.
Elon Musk is South African, he is contributing quite a bit ;-)
@@zapfanzapfan He's white, so that doesn't count.
Life is just to love and to be loved ❤️ Love alone can Conquer the World 🌎
Great talk, with lots to thinks about. Especially his assertion right at the end -- i.e., "We're humans, we have a brain... so we control our destiny."
This is not at all a given.
They do give us chance, maybe very small one in overall picture but chance. Dinosaur had 0 chance, he could do nothing to save himself....
It was probably just meant to be a cute visit and that's the microphone they had lol jeez stop expecting so much and enjoy the life lessons and experiences this nice man is sharing with you
I believe in our universe the most powerful weapon is love, sound waves, magic and mind.
in a pigs eye
Why can't people respect each other's opinions and not be so rude. this is what's wrong in our universe people are so hateful.
Lol
Amazing talk, thank you.
I think he will become a stand-up comedian as well👍👍
a good talk love professor MIchuo Katu
Professor Kaku nobody doubts that you are a "physicist" and a brilliant one at that, you can do without that phrase.
Google, you have figured out so much but you cannot buy a good microphone for Michio Kaku. A kid in future may see this video and get inspired to invent something great. So better audio please. what a great video...After watching the video I had many questions, one major was how did scientists photograph a black hole. Black hole which swallows light itself. Then thanks to google got the answer.
Michio Kaku LEGEND!
May The Good God shower His blessings on Michio Kaku
Great Interview! Michio's is aging in this video, not the usual fresh look he used to have when I last saw him about a year ago.
yeah...they go insane and demented in the end...their brains burn out...probably because they don't focus on their health...i used to work in mental health back wards filled with burnt out scientists and intellectuals...wiped out by their addictions
so entertaining to hear Michio speak.
Mad respect for Dr. Kaku, but if i were taking a shot every time he said "I'm a physicist", by the middle of the video my liver would've already shut down. He's a physicist - i get it, but imagine: "So i'm a dentist, and we dentists believe, that in the next couple generations the wisdom teeth won't be no more" or something
Sorry dude, no matter where you are in your profession you are totally disrespecting this rock star. He is of the Stephen hawking league of geniuses. Please do not let his humble demeanor fool you. He is privy to information us lay folks may never even suspect exist. Your attempt at childish humor is not funny. Read his books.
@@unboundpromethius9032 Apparently 7 people did find it funny. And i'm sorry that you don't. But fan-girling about him under a minor comment in RUclips, that he won't ever see, is an overkill. Better would've taken your own advice and read his books, because i have no problem understanding everything that he's talking about.
@@elmars302 it is not worth going back and forth with you when all you were after is the seven laughs you got out of it. This is a really great start to your stand up routine. I am in pieces over how funny your genius observation was. Now, take a bow.
@@unboundpromethius9032 OML, next time take your own advice before you start schooling others! ;)
Thanks Google for this super interesting talk !
Michio Kaka ; is this for kids 2-4 or maybe older kids can watch ???
Don't worry, you're obviously too young. When you learn how to spell his name properly (i.e. in a non-insulting way), then you might just be old enough.
My eternal gratitude to you for all the shared knowledge, all the time you have devoted, that may be that may giv back you in health! Gratitude the immensity of treasures distributed in to us from Planet Earth! gratitude!
I wonder if I have a science teacher like him in my elementary school, I will loving physics since then 😂
U have to be that teacher to others
@MorbidManMusic Pain? 😅
How do you reach there - what kind of extrapolation has he applied? In Kaku's own words, "Talk about parametrizing the future."
I like his background. wow an equation to try to understand God's thoughts, I am inspired by this man, like he was inspired by Einstein.
The universe, not god.
Mesmerizing. I love all the sci-fi ideas this guy discusses
It's not scifi
Please come to Pakistan and give lectures in our universities. Respect from Pakistan.

Why would he go to Pakistan when people from Pakistan want to get of that hellzone? LOL
@@Serpahim Don't look to what western media shows. In Pakistan their are also liberals and scientists who work hard and contribute to our society but are never been on social media. Come to Pakistan, explore and learn about people and then talk. Love and respect.

Naveen with the comeback! BURN!!!!!!!🔥🔥

He REALLY wants us to know he's a physicist
Theoretical physicist he's never actually applied anything... other theoretical physicists like Steven Hawkings actually produced something useful.
Fireteam Omega uh string theory. Particle accelerator became the large hadron collider.. about to finish the last part of Einstein’s book. More theories.
What you’re referring to is “engineering” if you wanted something tangible. Engineering is where the information is already readily available and it is just a “put it together” concept.
Michio focuses on the “unanswered questions” of the universe. That’s how we are going to have jump drive and artificial gravity in space in the future. We need these physicists to continue focus these type of theories.
thank you Michio Kaku
I lost my faith in humanity cause its 2019 and it seems that mediocre audio quality overall the internet is impossible to achieve
