He pulled one a bit similar last year at CEO against Wadi, a crazy zero to death with a spot dodge read and a waft on the platform. But yeah this one will stay in memories even longer, cause it was game 5 against a top 5 player in the world to reach top 8 in an S-tier. The dude is sick.

Gluto and Wario receiving tons of hate for stuff like that ending combo but yeah... same story with Leo and Joker, people think they play a stupid broken character while it's rather than they're both absolutely godlike, and do things they're the only ones to do with said characters. its not hate to gluto, its just wario in general. the controversy surrounding comeback chars, alot of competitive players such as light have said that characters shouldnt be rewarded for doing nothing. joker has arsene but takes dmg in order to reach there. meanwhile wario just needs to stall out just for waft, that when paired with up tilt or up air is a true combo (imo its easily achievable). gluto has had really good success with wario, even without waft. which he is no doubt a top player. but as for a char like wario, it doesnt seem fair does it now that a char gets rewarded with a move that gurantees a stock for doing nothing. and this is keeping in mind his early combos such as (nair foward air nair upair string) and (nair upair string) will amount to 60% with adequet power on his back air to kill at 105%. with that, i respect your opinion but i felt i had to make an input with regards to the char getting hate backed with reasons ppl feel as such. before i leave gluto did do a good job to clutch back smth, so all credit where its dued.

Unlike Arsene, you usually only have a full waft per game, and you can definitely miss it, even at top level, each tournament I witness many missed wafts, it's not that easy and "free" as people make it to be imo. I'm not against nerfing the move quite a bit, but people saying Wario/Wario players are carried by waft, like the character would be bad without it, sound a bit too salty to me.

Except Tweek has a tendency to miss wafts or just don't go for crazy setups like this. That ending chain was pure Glutonny classic, it was clutch af, not as easy to do as it looks like, and Nairo also made quite a mistake with that unsafe fsmash.

But, man...It Is impossibile to not see all the random idiots who can never admit when he loses cause he deserves. Palu is notoriously better than Wario, but no one complains when Nairo beats Dabuz, Tea, or others. Everyone is garbage, except for Nairo. If Nairo loses, It Is not his fault(pika Is broken, Wario has to be nerfed, he does not played well as he can, outside is raining and he is scared by thunders, ecc ecc). Well, great logic.

@@Omla33 A lot of charachters have busted tool in this game, honestly. I think that the only way to balance a roster of 70+ chars is to include such strong mechanics with different purpose. Joker has Arsene, ZSS has flipkick conversions, Peach has insane combos, Pikachu is near untouchable in the air, and so on. For sure waft is a super strong mechanic. But you have the privilige of using It only once/twice a game, and you have to be precise to land(also, your opponent is well aware of your intention to use it). Other chars have more consistent tools, even if this tools don't kill you at 35. Don't think Wario is the strongest pg in the game by any means, so i don't see the problem. Sadly, my english is very poor and stops me to argue in a better way about this topic.
People calling Wario dishonest as if Palu isn’t. She has a kill throw. Can kill with bair, dash attack, the friggen jab kills, up air, nair can low percent combo into itself AND kill when fresh, down tilt and forward tilt, side special, and has a reflector/counter in one move. Can spam neutral special to bait approaches. Whatever negatives she has is out weighed by her ample strengths, waifu material, and teleport recovery.

Dash attack kills hella late, jab basically only kills late at the edge, I don't see how having 2 main combo tools is cheap when wario has like 8 in addition to non existent landing lag so he can literally just throw out attacks til one lands. I don't see how you think side tilt or down tilt is dishonest, or side special when you only see side special landing a handful of times during a match and it's rarely the killing blow
Tiny T.W.I.M Teleport recoveries are worse because you have 4 frames of vulnerability when grabbing ledge instead of 2. Oh and side tilt isn’t very good. And no I don’t defend Palutena just giving you some more insight.
Grant Barbour C’mon. moves don’t have to be perfect to be dishonest. Some moves I mentioned have great properties. May I also add that *waifu material* is a big deal in the Smash meta. If a character is popular, the meta will develop quicker for them cause more people play them. She’s busted cause she’s cute. 🧢

No one is as good as Glutonny when it comes to waft confirm, so if you want to say that waft carry Gluto, please tell me who else could have done that string. When he's mad at something beside the set then his focus would naturally be on other things like his previous loss set or personal issues. If he gets mad during then its likely cause of the set itself and he uses it to concentrate further on his mistakes and how to improve

@@ianngoat I definitely think Europe us underrated (look at how Bulby performed at Genesis) But the issue is guys can't get sponsorships as easy over here so making it to tournaments holds the scene back. The S-tier in France and Albion last year are definitely helping the scene grow.
Not for no reason, Palu's near didn't get the last hit that knocks the opponent away as she landed on the ground too early. Try it out on training, if you fast fall too early anything can break the combo.
Exactly. All nairo has to do is throw out palus giant long-lasting hitboxes and he wins neutral because wario has small hitboxes and can't contest. But wario is called cheap and carried because gluttony lands a sick waft combo.
Bruh did you watch that match, palu boxes wario out super hard. Gluto didn't even get many combos off, he mostly had to nickel and dime nairo while waiting for a harder punish. In general but especially in this matchup, wario has to commit hard to get real damage and palu can punish him very easily for doing so, while not having to commit herself

Palutena's nair can pretty much handle all attempts of wario to get an advantage in neutral. @@Omla33 A lot of charachters have busted tool in this game, honestly. I think that the only way to balance a roster of 70+ chars is to include such strong mechanics with different purpose. Joker has Arsene, ZSS has flipkick conversions, Peach has insane combos, Pikachu is near untouchable in the air, and so on. For sure waft is a super strong mechanic. But you have the privilige of using It only once/twice a game, and you have to be precise to land(also, your opponent is well aware of your intention to use it). Other chars have more consistent tools, even if this tools don't kill you at 35. Don't think Wario is the strongest pg in the game by any means, so i don't see the problem. Sadly, my english is very poor and stops me to argue in a better way about this topic.

Whatever negatives she has is out weighed by her ample strengths, waifu material, and teleport recovery.

Dash attack kills hella late, jab basically only kills late at the edge, I don't see how having 2 main combo tools is cheap when wario has like 8 in addition to non existent landing lag so he can literally just throw out attacks til one lands. I don't see how you think side tilt or down tilt is dishonest, or side special when you only see side special landing a handful of times during a match and it's rarely the killing blow

Tiny T.W.I.M Teleport recoveries are worse because you have 4 frames of vulnerability when grabbing ledge instead of 2. Oh and side tilt isn’t very good. And no I don’t defend Palutena just giving you some more insight.

May I also add that *waifu material* is a big deal in the Smash meta. If a character is popular, the meta will develop quicker for them cause more people play them.

It’s interesting, Nairo doesn’t seem to do well when he comes into a set playing mad, but if he gets mad during a set it can really be insane
When he's mad at something beside the set then his focus would naturally be on other things like his previous loss set or personal issues. If he gets mad during then its likely cause of the set itself and he uses it to concentrate further on his mistakes and how to improve

Not for no reason, Palu's near didn't get the last hit that knocks the opponent away as she landed on the ground too early. Try it out on training, if you fast fall too early anything can break the combo.

Bruh did you watch that match, palu boxes wario out super hard. Gluto didn't even get many combos off, he mostly had to nickel and dime nairo while waiting for a harder punish. In general but especially in this matchup, wario has to commit hard to get real damage and palu can punish him very easily for doing so, while not having to commit herself

Palutena's nair can pretty much handle all attempts of wario to get an advantage in neutral. Even if you see this match (beside game 1), nairo is winning the neutral game (but he didn't capitalize as much as he could).

people really complaining about wario but dont realize how much skill it takes to play him. His playstyle is extremely hard to play becuz of his aerial range is god awful. His nair can be easily spaced his up air is hard to combo with because of the delay, and his fair is bad becuz it has no range and u basically commit with no range. I play roy, ike, wolf, and cloud but every time I try and pick up wario, he's so difficult. Wario has legit no pressure from the beginning to mid until he gets waft.
His speed makes up for it, which makes him annoying

Wario isn't an easy to play character. Wario has tricky matchups and very specific combos which can be very hard to pull out. He is the opposite of "cheap". lmao look at Palus nair... ;-)
Even the waft isn't that good. You CAN zero to death someone, if you execute it perfect like Gluto did. But there's a cause that you don't see this very often on tournaments. Because it's not easy and depends on your enemy. Waft can decide matches but Wario isn't that crazy.
Go play him. And try to zero to death everyone you see.

People calling wario a cheap character because he can combo into waft but we also forget he has: tiny hitboxes, mediocre recovery, gets boxed out by any character with range, useless smash attacks, terrible ground mobility, his combo starters aren't safe on shield, no kill throws, no spammable specials but because Nairo lost to waft now he's broken even though palu is a top 3 character and has cheap moves in spades. I like nairo alot but the clear nairo bias here is strong.
