    This is awesome. Seen some videos from other people on installing the aftermarket solutions, but this oem one is really clear! Thanks!

    Side note: as these cars get old... it's a good practice to clean all mating surfaces before reinstalling!
    Great video nonetheless!

    Nice vid! I bought Billman’s TCT because of lifetime warranty. But my OEM TCT hadn’t had any issue for 200k miles.

    Thank you for the help. I changed my TCT yesterday without issues. Unfortunately the ticking noise was still present and louder now.
    Now to check the valves.

      If you install another OEM TCT you might not have fixed the problem. I think I have another video covering the TCT issue in general.

      @@DIYGuysvideo I have been looking for the billman tct but can't find where to buy it? Once found I'll buy one.
      But honestly thank you I have been utilizing your videos to sort the car out.

      You have to register on s2ki and PM billman. Kind of annoying but this is how he works.

      Did you figure out what the other ticking noise was even after replacing the tct?

    • @erniediaz894
      @erniediaz894 2 года назад

      @@rockyk1395 Yes it was the valves. Once adjusted the noise went away. However now the expansion tank is filling up and no leaks found.

    I replaced mine with the Balladsports TCT. Super Quality BUT how do i remove the tensioner again and refit the same tensioner since i wont have a pin in it? Great video.

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  5 лет назад

      There is a way to reinstall it without a pin but it’s just a little tricky. I’ll have another video about that whole process soon.

    Great video as usual! Do you have a baffles oil pan? Would love to hear your thoughts on that and/or video on it or putting in a oil temp sensor. Keep it up!

    I remove mine and and place it back thinking it was the solenoid. Fit right in with no issues . I tightened the bold evenly tho

      There is risk that your timing chain tensioner could over tension the timing chain. If your timing chain is a bit stretched, as timing chains do over time it might have been fine.

    Whats the whole deal with the pin? Does it come in a new TCT or did you use the old one, just replace the gaskets and install the pin? Cheers

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  5 лет назад

      The pin is how a new TCT comes and it is also how you are supposed to re assemble the TCT according to the service manual. I installed my own cotter pin. I’ll have a video on that soon!

    Just curious, what oil do you run on your s2000s?

    • @DIYGuysvideo
      @DIYGuysvideo  5 лет назад +3

      I usually buy whatever is on sale, I would recommend any full synthetic. Most people change their oil way too often. Since my AP1 burns a lot of oil I run Walmart conventional 10w40. The Walmart oil is $12 a gallon. I put 10w30 Valvoline Synpower into the CR. I recently did an oil analysis on the CR after 8 track days and they said I could have done more...

      If this at all helps, I've had the ballade TCT on mine for about 3 years now without any issues *knocks on wood* lol I believe it also comes with a lifetime warranty.

      You’ll generally hear a playing card in bicycle spikes noise. If you search for the sound on RUclips you will find it. If my TCT every fails I will document it.
