I preferred the Q Acoustics. On my nearfield computer audio system, they sounded cleaner, had more air, better delineated mids and highs, and just grabbed me from the beginning of the track. The Emits didn't do that. When the weekend gets here I listen again with headphones and see if anything changes. Thanks for this very good demonstration.
Was surprised with how well the recording picked showed the difference in sound. For me the q acoustics sounded a lot better. Sure that’s totally different in person as you described.
Just got a pair of Emit 50 today, absolutely excited and can’t wait to have them in my living room. In my opinion they have a more spacious feel while keeping all the details in the sound, maintaining an authentic texture of the music. I even think the emit 50 sounded better than a pair of Evoke 30….
Excellent evaluation of two different sound signatures, I like them both but probably would go with the Concept 50 due to my room limitations. I hope you have further opportunities to evaluate other popular speakers in future videos. Cheers.
On the first test the main difference I could detect was the vocals sounded more forward on the Emit 50s, but on the second test the Concept 50s stood out quite a lot with a much fuller sound, and that's listening to this video on my laptop ! I have a pair of Q Acoustics 3050i, and I'm blown away by these speakers for the £475 price tag, an absolute steal, so I would be intrigued to hear the difference between the 3050i and the Concept 50s !
Thanks for another good review. I know its hard over RUclips but I liked the overall sound of the Dynaudio. But am a big fan of a large sound stage so might have well walked out of that shop with the Q Acoustics.
Concept 50 was airier with tighter and faster bass, but also sounded hollower and less realistic. Dynaudio sounded fuller and more realistic. I wished it also had a Burchard-like tight and hefty bass.
Did anyone else also hear the boxiness of each speaker? Pretty surprised. Maybe it’s the auditioning room. Thanks you Ditton Works. I wish more reviewers let us hear what equipment sounds like. 👍
The Dynaudio's sounded more accomplished to me, more of a true performance where the Concept 50 sounded as if the track was thrown together with less care at the mixing stage, less well knitted together. Initially the Concept 50's sounded intriguing but would wear thin on me i think.
Thanks for the excellent review. I'm in the market for some floor standers now that I'm in a larger room (14' x 21') to replace my Dynaudio Focus 110 (circa 2008). Both sounded very good, but I think I prefer the Emit 50. The Naim front end was also impressive.
@@michaelmasztal7871 am also trying to upgrade my Focus 110 but it is very difficult, even 3000 euros speakers don't really offer a lot much from the Focus 110.
So difficult to evaluate on youtube vid. Could be the Emits are brighter and the microphone picks that up better than the Concepts? Bought a pair of Concept 20's and delighted with them, wondering if the 50's would be worth the extra for what may only be a small increase in sound quality? Each persons ears are different, amps and setups different and rooms, especially if spending on equipment doesnt include some room treatment which makes a huge difference.
Dynaudio blows q acoustics away. Listening on fyne 501's. Always think q acoustics sound muffled. Going to change the 501s. Harsh treble hurts my ears. The dynaudio are £1400 roughly at the moment. Q's 2k. No brainier isn't it. Not sure what to get. Room is only 14sq m. Glad I found your demo. 👍

@@hclandscapes Have you tried sticking the Emits on Isoacoustic Gaia's as the presenter suggested? These tighten up the bass of almost any floorstander. I doubt whether the cabinet construction of the Evoke 30s are significantly better.
I can tell from your voice recording that 50-100% of the time you are exciting bass room modes. You need a better demo room. I've been thru this myself recently, it took MANY repositionings to minimize room modes. A good test is many different acoustic bass recordings! Good luck!!
@@trevorbartram5473 different locations. Nothing wrong with that demo room. We’ve used Dynaudio confidence 30’s, Kudos Titan 808’s, ATC SCM50’s in that room with no issues
Recording speakers does not work. I hear lots of room acoustics, lots. An increasingly common YT trend. Forget Q Acoustics. I have the C500s. Dreadful mistake. Try PMC.
Until 2 minutes in I was interested, but then came the listening and that is just a silly concept in this setting! Sure it may be the recording of two different set of speakers sound different, but the sound just has so far to go from the speakers covered till it hit my ears it is never going to a useful representation. And pretending otherwise is just misleading people.
Without extensive room acoustic treatment you are wasting your time and effort reviewing any speaker. I see your listening room has no acoustic treatment at all.

The Dynaudio's sounded much better to me. I think it's the mid range.
I’ve heard the q acoustics concept 500’s! Pricey, but a audiophile speaker! Lovely with a Hegel amplifier!
Concept 50 is really a great speaker.

Amazing what can be heard from a youtube clip...
I have rhe older versions of both in bookshelf form - the Concept 20 and rhe Emit m10 at home. I greatly prefer the emit m10 over the concept.
Nice review and live demo. I am very seriously considering the concept 50. Prefer the smaller speaker and the cabinet density...

Another Great Review by Kevin!
Personally,I believe giving a slightly bigger room for emit50, it will sound way better than concept50.
That’s a pretty big room but possibly a bigger room would change how they sounded.
I preferred the Dynaudio’s as they seemed to have more detail.
Submotion orchestra 👌
Hi Kevin.
They sound both very good.
Nice video.
But i will not buy these speakers because I love my kef q500.

That was funny when you gave it a knock, I thought it was going to fall over.

Smother bass on concept which fills the room leaving the tweeter to shine . On that dynaudio not sure I like it on this demo ..
