I recently listened them on my local dealer and we compared them with the old SHL5. These speakers blew my socks off. I couldn’t believe the sound from these stand mount speakers.

You can buy the Atoll IN200 Signature with a DAC (DA200) build in as an option. Is that DAC also good?

Falcon Acoustics sounded better so immersive. That's too bad as the 11ohms are cheaper. What can one do? Didn't want to take out a second mortgage

On my Proac Response 3.8 the offset tweeter is supposed to be set up with the tweeters on the inside of the drivers. Is it supposed to be the opposit on the studio 100?

The LS2/5a (Chartwell original 15 ohm) was my gateway drug into hifi, as it prolly was for many.

Speakers don't have emotion. Ive never in my life heard a speaker with emotion. Music can have emotion and musicians play music with emotion but not the speakers. So when you say that speakers have emotion it makes me doubt you ability to honestly judge the quality of the sound being reproduced by the speakers. Thats all it is. Some speakers reproduce recording better than others. Emotions and whatnot are in the music not the speaker!

How about trying Funk's FX5 arm on your Technics?

Have you had any experience with the Spendor S20's? I live in the US & have become interested in the vintage Spendor's and want to try a pair. After you gave me an opinion in another one of your videos i was going to grab a pair of SP1's. Not a lot of vintage Spendor to choose from in the local 2nd hand market. But i saw a beautiful pair of S20's for even cheaper. They don't seem to be well known or used here in the States. Im just looking for something new to play with. Im new to your channel & really enjoying it. Catching up on your older videos.

I dont know if you will see this but I am not familiar with the Spendor sound or speakers...in my home anyway. I have & had plenty of modern speakers, have SS & tube gear & was thinking of grabbing a pair of Spendors locally for cheapish. Between the SP1's & S8e which would be better to try out? I dont expect either to be my daily driver..im just always interested in something different. Both are local, great shape, $700 obo Thanks 👍

I have Spendor s3e. I can hear it’s much similar here too. It’s has characteristic of iPhone 15. Not accurate . Mid range and treble hidden, Squashed. Les enjoyable.

The contour lineup has always had visible screws as far as I remember. It is consistent with the Contour lineup.

Mid range has the ls3/5a taste, infact quite transparent overalll

I've owned a pair of these Falcons for several years. Based strictly on this dem I prefer the Spendors.

Interesting. I have a passive Rogers LSB1 stereo subwoofer designed to work with the LS3/5a. Ken Kessler likes it in the 80s. Its waiting to be sold to a 3/5a fan... Ran it for many years with ProAc Tablettes. Replaced them with KEF LS50 and REL B3 subs which work better in my 20x13 living room.

I have the ministra for a couple of years now and have them 33 inch into the room as its glass behind them , they sound really well enough bass for their size . But I am now wanting a bit bigger sound , I am thinking of these as my next speaker

Was surprised with how well the recording picked showed the difference in sound. For me the q acoustics sounded a lot better. Sure that’s totally different in person as you described.

sounds good but I am selling my Spendor S100 because I went with Tannoy Berkeley mk2 and Conrad Johnson 11a tube amp...the sound is much more relaxed and not fatiguing like SS can be...

hard to evaluate from this music choice. i'd play a better track of real music. maybe king crimson or deep purple's anthem or any others songs from this caliber. 15 minutes video is enough time to play one more song,. a real one.

I have the older Emit M10 speakers and I bought the new Emit 10 for an upgrade. I have listened to the speakers side by side for a long time. I have found that the old Emit M10 plays more open and forward than the new Emit 10. So I replaced the old Emit M10 and sent the new one back. The new Emit 10 does have a bit more bass and the cabinet is a bit deeper. I listened to the speakers on an M1 from Marantz and I have to say that that little thing plays. fantastic.but something I want to share.

Harbeth are more precisee speakers but Spendor are really forgivers with the recording, is the only speaker I've been enjoying listening Sabbath bloody Sabbath 😅 Mine are 3/1 with Accuphase...good match! Spendor are less engaging but you feel you are not disturbing the neighbor

3020 sounded dreadful when it arrived Well built and designed but awful awful harsh uninteresting sound The preamp is bound to be the reason. A rebuild with boutique components is just silly seeing other cheapish amps were available. I always knew when i was listening to one. A tube preamp would rescue but cost more than a 3020
