- The X3 receives some updates and changes from BMW for 2022. On the outside there is a new grill, front fascia, wheels and rear bumper. On the inside there are updates like a 12.3in infotainment screen, and interior materials. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces HP & is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2022 BMW X3 the BEST compact luxury SUV to BUY?

2022 X3 is just a great driving SUV/car. I have the white exterior with red interior. It’s beautiful, luxurious and feels solid. I also have the MB GLE and Lexus RX350. They all have their unique traits, but the X3 is the most fun to drive.

After test driving several compact SUVs from a Honda CR-V to a Mercedes AMG GLC, I thought the BMW was best all around vehicle for my needs. I picked up my brand new 22' X3 m40i in Carbon Black last week and absolutely love it! If I had went with the 30i, than I think the Sport Package is a must as I'm not a fan of the front redesign on this one.

Love my jet black 2022 BMW X3 after coming from a 2010 Acura TSX! I have owned it for 3 months and have had no problems! Gas mileage is excellent and is possibly even better than my TSX!

I've had my '22 X3 xdrive for two months and I love it. Compared to the GLB, GLC, and Q5 it was the best option for that price point especially since service is included for 3 yrs. And there was a military rebate on top of the discount I negotiated. I'm hooked.

yup same here. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. They had a promo with 3% APR instead of 3.99 and I pulled the trigger immediately. The tech inside this X3 blows my mind more and more each day. The fact that it parks itself left me stunned for the whole test drive LOL.
Got my 22’ X3 in October of 21. I went in thinking I would need to have atleast the m40i but after test driving the xdrive 30i 2.0 I was surprised with its performance. The 4cyl did much better than what I was anticipating. I ended up going with a xdrive30i with premium package,tow package, and remote start. Luckily I ordered early on before a lot of options were removed due to the chip shortage. I’ve heard of the premium package no longer having the HUD. Also reports of ambient lighting and remote start not being available.
I really like the blue and this refresh is also amazing. Loving what they did with the rear end of this car
They did make it look sharp!
I feel the opposite regarding the rear. I absolutely hate the look of the new tail light design.

I just picked up a 2021 X3 in that Phytonic blue fully loaded and I must say, the car impresses me more and more each day. By far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned and I've had some nice cars in the past. This is one of those cars that I pray lasts over 150,000 km's because I have no plan to ever give it up early.

@@CarsofGlasgow I was so iffy at first on getting blue cause I normally go black or grey. but so far I'm pretty happy with phytonic blue. It's really neat how the contrast of the blue changes depending if it's sunny or overcast. It pops in the sun and then has a really relaxing dull blue when its cloudy

I came here for an honest review of this car because I'm planning to get one for my wife's 50th birthday this coming June. She's an awesome wife and mother and works her tail off working at her profession for over 17 years on the night shift, I owe it to her to have something nice for a change. Otherwise, another Classic review Joe- very classic- I'm sold on this one for sure!!

I love all your automotive reviews, you helped me make my decision to buy this vehicle, I went with the m sport package, I know its not a true x3m, I bought the xdrive,I wish they would have brought the ix3 electric to the United States, I would have bought it,with the chip shortage no on screen display anymore, no surround camera , I wanted those, you do a fantastic job, so does your wife, I miss seeing you are cars and coffee when it was at dupont, keep up the fantastic work
Interior (except infotainment) looks like my old 2018 Land Rover Discovery sport HSE lux.

I like the x3 inside but thought it ought to be on all doors. Like the heated steering wheel. Would like a cool option in Texas. Didn't like the cup holder in the passenger rear. Sticks up and hard to put arms. Wish it had the sun visor in rear windows. Like how the grill looks like sunglasses. Would as you say like fog lamps. On the seats folding in the back a winner. So easy looking. At first you don't understand headrest till that happens. The seats up front are great. Just don't like the buttons at all.

It looks like an older X3. The back is decent and the interior is pretty nice. I like the size.
Navy blue, Bavarian sky and clouds badge. This vehicle takes me back to the classic style of the 70's 3 series. Unfortunately couldn't afford it then and sadly can't afford it now

Hopefully BMW X3 is looking at their engine mounts. My 2020 BMW X3 has engine mounts that went bad after just after the 50k warranty went out. It also has an oil leak. Lemon?

Great video, I looked at switching out my 2020 X3 for the 2022. Sadly BMW UK can't offer the same packages due to current issues, so I couldnt get the tech pack etc so I am sticking with the 2020 until things return to some sort of norm.
This video is good sometimes showcasing the base model is great!

I know this is a refresh and not a redesign but I wish the floor would be flat like the RDX or the NX but that would mean to move away from a RWD architecture. I need to be able to seat 5 persons comfortably from time to time.

We just got this car, spent a ton of money.. and.... Check engine light at 20 miles in.. not the gas cap, we checked multiple times.. anyway, fun fun (feeling of despair).. taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

New Genesis GV70 is blowing this, Benz C430, and the Audi Q5 out of the water!
A few months ago I got a new, fully loaded 2021 X3. It now has only 3,000 miles on it. Drives great, lots of cool tech, but it has bad interior rattles that the dealer has not been able to solve. I've met other X3 owners who say they have the same issues. Very annoying problem that I seriously doubt has changed with the slight refresh. It's a quality control issue.

I have a ‘21 X3 that I bought last year brand new. The only interior rattle I’ve heard is from the pull out cover in the trunk area when it’s not laying the right way…but once I straighten it out, it solves the issue. Doesn’t happen often though. I’m very satisfied with my X3 and enjoy it.👍🏽😎

Worth mentioning how BMW has removed Head up display, Adaptive Cruise Control, Harman Kardon sound system from their 3 series and X3s. They don't even offer ventilated seats at about $50K. Pretty ridiculous, wouldn't you say Joe?
Plus I believe ambient lighting and “passenger width” and digital key, and maybe some other features too. It’s because of the chip shortage. I’m waiting until all these features are back on the market to order mine (hopefully next year).
this might be related to chip shortage. Vented seats are available on the X3 at least.

Have a X3 2021 with Premium Pkg. When I test drove it felt good but when purchased & took long road trip found sport seat bottom uncomfortable & tight & power seat adjustments don't make thigh cushions less restrictive- I'm 185 lb 5'10 but coming from a 2019 Volvo XC 60 seats much more comfortable- another issue is BMW 'park assist'-which is far more difficult & frustrating to use than my Volvo & it had 'park out' assist that BMW doesn't.
As for suspension, engine & feel of road-yes BMW far superior than my Volvo which bounced over rough roads-wish I could overlook uncomfortable seat & smaller interior than my XC 60 but I cant. As for chip shortage & inventory backlog I tried to trade in my 6 months old X3 for an X5 but all of Tri-state NY, NJ Conn dealers want to low ball me then sell it on their lot for
almost 8k profit plus saying supply & demand dictates they sell me a new 2022 X5 no for MSRP & a month wait. They really don't give a rat's ass about repeat customer & talk about greedy bastards-
Anyway Raiti enjoy reviews-enjoy them but had to give me opinion on my X3 - word of advise wait till middle of 2022 to purchase a new vehicle cause the sale managers are really raping the consumer now & its a seller's market.
I dont' mind & expect a dealership to make a fair profit on my trade but not A TRIP TO TAHITTA on me!

Not sure how it is in the states but I can confirm it's not like this in Canada. We have the same chip shortage that the dealers can't put wireless charging or HK surround sound in even the most premium new vehicles. But as for MSRP pricing, they've been very good. They actually appraised my 2017 340i for $4000 more than what I was hoping for and I think it's the whole thing you were saying with them not being able to get new cars in, so they're loading the lots with pre-owned. 2021 X3 fully loaded to the tits that I'm only paying $380 CAD bi-weekly for is phenomenal. Only 12,000km's on it couldn't ask for more. Brand new they sell for $75,000 almost plus taxes and interest so I saved well over 15 grand which was great.
Spot on. Just bought my 22 S Drive and it’s perfect but my 16’ 535 seats put it to shame. Paid sticker with no mark up. Even waved the transfer fee from another dealer. There are still some good guys out there. BMW Palm Springs.
