The more I watch this the more I realize Jessica has always been so honest with her audience. Her book, she shared shit most celebrities would never. I just adore her.

Yeah reading her book she says how he wanted to settle down but her dad begged her to wait to marry until she was older. People complain she was all these things but forget she was 18 when they met and he was already in the late 20s.

I've re-watched most of the show, and I'm surprised she honestly didn't divorce him sooner by how much he tells her to "shut up" and completely ignores her when he gets upset over nothing. Very emotionally abusive and manipulative. She was too immature to be married, but doesn't mean she deserved to be treated that way.

this is actually really sad. This was around the time the relationship took a downturn. Jessica said in Open Book she said she jumped out of a cake in boudoir clothing because Nick would always go to these strip clubs with the guys, and maybe if she dressed like those girls he'd be happier.
Yeah, he went to strip clubs a lot and spent money but he was always mad about her spending money.

Jessica then went on to bang Tony Romo of the dallas cowboys, he then dumped her....notice a trend? She later married another football player who drank alcohol with her.

This is so sad. All I see is a sweet, albeit slightly clueless, girl, just vying for her husband’s acceptance, doing all she can to make him happy. I get that material shit doesn’t equal happiness, but I honestly feel like Jessica was trying in the only way she knew how. I can see that she was spoiled, but she wasn’t arrogant or snotty in the slightest. She just wanted to live out her fairytale, probably not realizing it wasn’t very realistic. And Nick just kind of looked down on her. I hope they are both much happier now.
Plus it was her money to spent and he acted like she was pending his money. All in the past though!

From what I heard, when this show started Nick was the more successful one out of the two. His group 98 Degrees had sold millions of records, so he had the money. Jessica's first album did well, but her second album had flopped in the USA. It was this show that helped turn the tides and Jess became the super rich superstar. But at this point in the first season it was mostly Nick's money being used for everything. That is why he was on her case a lot for how much money she spent.

At first when I watched this on MTV as early as twenty I thought, oh she’s feeling herself and wants to show him there’s nothing better out there than what’s he’s got home. Now, in 2023 since I read her book, I realize that she was (in her head) competing with all the girls he was clubbing with while she was out of town. Which is sad when you think about it. If there was a winner to be had in a divorce I would give it to miss Jessica Simpson.
I use to watch this show so much! I always liked her, she always seemed so sweet and vulnerable. Never bought into her being at fault except being herself - he’s a dirtbag and didn’t deserve her.

Alot of her being so skinny was for the movie Daisy dukes. She had to lose alot go weight. Once she was done with the movie she went back to eating everything an gained weight. Then if course after the divorce an all they made fun of her for her weight an it was a big thing. She lost weight again but not as skinny as she was here. An of course on here tv make syou look bigger so she was even more smaller in real life.
