Everything sucked. He only improved after his return in Thunderdome. He had a chance to experiment. If they'd turn reigns heel then it would've been a complete failure.
A lot of people didn't like Roman v. Cody due to the finish or over booking at the end. But i freakin' loved it. It was an absolute fantastic match, imo.

That’s why John Cena is a GOAT because for these big match main events where he is allowed to actually wrestle and work the crowd is his best. John Cena is a person who will tailor his in ring performance to match the style of his opponent. Like vs The Miz who was slow and methodical. Cena matched that energy. Vs AJ, Cena matched that energy by doing things we don’t normally see out of Cena. Cena will push himself to match the person he is fighting if it is a big main event match and if he is allowed more freedom in the match. The less favorable Cena matches i feel were ones that WWE probably was involved in how they wanted the match to go
Cena gave the great Khali, Ryback and Umaga the best matches of their careers, so I agree Santi implying Cena needed a good dance partner was blasphemous
The match was great. The only thing that holds it back from being the best for me is the overbooking of the finish and the fact that Cody lost which I still to this day don’t think that was the right call. I feel like there were a few other matches that were better than that. Rhea vs Charlotte, Triple threat IC title match and the tag team championship title match.

Cody vs Roman at Mania 39 is a match that shouldn't be judged solely by the finish..it was a fantastic match, there was some awesome storytelling even in the entrances too, like Roman wasnt looking too cocky as he usually was and that made it look like he was going to lose, Cody breaking the guillotine...such little details made the match more interesting to watch
imo the finish was 100% the right call.Other wise we wouldnt be getting this comeback story of a babyface who was ridiculously over by the fans .Like how many people called the main event the "Infinity war" while WM 40 night 2 was "The end game"

attended night two of WM38, you could clearly tell lesnar had injured his rib early in the match. my dad pointed it out that reigns and lesnar communicated about 8-9 minutes into the match with lesnar saying to end it earlier than expected, really sucks, was my first ever televised WWE event too lol

Honestly, the only way I see of going back to a one-night Wrestlemania is if they make it 5 or 6 matches at max, but I don't want that. I like to see all the matches that we see each night. It gives a moment to shine to more superstars that otherwise wouldn't make it on the card. I've been liking the two-nights Wrestlemanias, it also makes the weekend feel more special.
If I were to rank them, No. 2 would have to either be the Triple Threat Match from Mania 20 or 30, or even the Edge vs. Taker match. I say No. 2 because if you can't guess that I'm putting Taker vs. Shawn at No. 1, then God help you.
I couldn’t agree with you more. I hate that match so much. It was a 27 minute snoozer of a match that felt like it dragged on for 27 years. It also didn’t help the fact that the company completely muted out the booing fans in the main event of WrestleMania for crying out loud.
I was at that Wrestlemania. Only the people in the front rows cared about that match. Everyone else was booing, half asleep or trying to beat the traffic.

I was so pissed about the 36 main. Drew was training in the mountains to prepare to take EVERYTHING Brock had to throw at him. I was ready to see the entire set be destroyed as Brock would suplex him through everything in the room. To show how Drew molded himself into the perfect specimen into taking all the punishment Brock had to offer ... Only for us to get a finisher fest AGAIN in a Brock match AGAIN.

John is good in the ring, he’s just picked his spots differently in my opinion. I think the main event of WM 27 was bad simply cause it was built terribly and (like you said) used for a match they were building up a year later. Also never bought into the miz as a main event guy heel or baby face

Honestly, the only way I see of going back to a one-night Wrestlemania is if they make it 5 or 6 matches at max, but I don't want that. I like to see all the matches that we see each night. It gives a moment to shine to more superstars that otherwise wouldn't make it on the card. I've been liking the two-nights Wrestlemanias, it also makes the weekend feel more special.
If I were to rank them, No. 2 would have to either be the Triple Threat Match from Mania 20 or 30, or even the Edge vs. Taker match.
I say No. 2 because if you can't guess that I'm putting Taker vs. Shawn at No. 1, then God help you.

I was so pissed about the 36 main. Drew was training in the mountains to prepare to take EVERYTHING Brock had to throw at him. I was ready to see the entire set be destroyed as Brock would suplex him through everything in the room. To show how Drew molded himself into the perfect specimen into taking all the punishment Brock had to offer ... Only for us to get a finisher fest AGAIN in a Brock match AGAIN.

I would disagree. Probablly the second greatest mainevent. For me it still is undertaker and shawn wm26. In terms of story telling with their 20 year long rivalry. As well as it was takers 18 year streak vs shawns career. Tho, we'll see how long that will remain in the upcoming years to come because i loved both 40s mainevents.
