    I like the Nautical Theme; Lighthouses would be pretty cool also. Crosses are popular also. Women especially love stained glass. May God Bless you two on your promises to each other.

    Congrats on your wedding and thank you for sharing the project and doing what you do. I've been subbed since I started turning a year and a half ago so I have definitely learned a great deal from your channel. I feel you are on the same level as Shawn from WorthEffort with how you impart your knowledge to us viewers with all your different style project videos. Thanks again, from the coast of Maine.

      Thanks for your comment Steve, I'll see if I can arrange a studio visit in the future to see how she makes them. The name of the artist is Sue Watson, the name of her studio is Wat's on glass, I believe she has a website so that's probably the best place to get in touch with her. I hope this helps :-) thanks for watching.

    Hi there Tom, I find it scary to say this but whenever I think of someone I haven't seen for a while, they turn up the next day. I was thinking about you last night and here you are tonight. it always happens within one day. I always enjoy your video's very much and your smile creates a happy feeling. I am so glad you got married and I sincerely hope your marriage lasts you and your new bride a lifetime of true happiness. It is something to work on at times but worth it in the end. Love your work and I always enjoy your video's very much. Congratulations and stay safe. Kindest regards, Bill Buckley. :)

    I have a jig called the marrison system used for making bowls from flat boards, very similar result to your core rings. Congrats on the wedding.

    • @thewelshwoodman649
      @thewelshwoodman649  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Adam, I've heard good things about the Marrison system, a friend of mine has one, not sure what version he has, but had an inch 1/2 flat bar with lots of milled angles in it, attach to a bar that you put into your tool post so it looked a bit like a tool rest, he was using it to make what he calls dizzy bowls which look awesome, he'd laminate these different contrasting woods together and use the angles on the rest to make an economy style bowl but when gluing up the pieces would rotate the boards to give them cool patterns 😁 will have to try that some day 😊 Thanks for watching 👍

    Hi Tom, Can you tell me at what speed you set your lathe? Also, can woodturning be done sitting down as I have trouble standing. Many thanks for sharing your info and tips.

    • @thewelshwoodman649
      @thewelshwoodman649  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment Jay, I don't have a digital read out on my lathe so not really sure of the exact speed, normally a good rule is the larger and heavier the piece the slower the RPM of the lathe, most lathe manuals will come with recommendations for speed or you can find helpful charts online. Woodturning can definitely be done sitting down, I know many wheel chair users that turn sitting down, I also have a Friend that production turns lace bobbins who has converted an old singer sewing machine into a treadle lathe and does most of his turning sitting down 😁 I hope this helps many thanks Tom
