My son had this. He had a cranial ridge when he was born, no soft spots. He did not need surgery thankfully.

When I had my daughter, the doctor's made a diagnosis of 'newborn craniostenosis of the sagittal suture' meaning the 2 skull bones that meet in the middle had overlapped and fused together. She had surgery to repair it when she was 3 weeks old and weighed 6 pounds. She stayed in the hospital for a week. This was in1983, and I still remember my feelings of 'I did this to her!'. It turned out it was genetics. I hope your son continues to do well.

I have a nephew born 44 years ago that was born 3 weeks early at 7 lbs.Normal birth and healthy. We noticed his head was flat on the sides and longer in front when he caught pneumonia and was in the hospital they noticed that it didn’t look quite right in the way it was growing. So they did a CT on his head and saw that his soft spots had already grown shut at around almost 3 months. So they said they would have to do surgery and remove a piece of skull and replace it with a plastic . While they were doing the surgery they found out that almost all of his soft spots, the pieces in the skull that are loose and open so the brain can develop had grown shut already. And they said if they had waited any longer to die the surgery that he probably might have had some brain damage. It was scary for my sister and her husband but this boy, our man now had no problems smartest went to college has his bachelor degree and a very good job. It’s amazing what they can do and things are even more advanced now. They told her that he was lucky because they had could do this because they had to do this on soldiers that were in the war With skull wounds.

My daughter, who is now 39 yrs old, had surgery for this at 9 mos old. You would not guess it in a million years by looking at her, unless you run your fingers through her hair. There is normalcy and hope after healing!

This was randomly on my suggestions. My oldest was born with metopic craniosynostosis (very obvious at birth) 15 years ago and had surgery at 8 months old. We, too, had never heard of craniosynostosis, and it was absolutely terrifying. He's a normal teenager driving me crazy now 😜.

my daughter was born with this, and it was a truly traumatic thing to go through. Today she is absolutely perfect, you can't even see the scar or tell anything was ever wrong. She recovered from the surgery in about 3 days. Babies are wonderfully resilient but their poor parents, less so!

If you recite the below mentioned prayer 400 or 2000 times, all of your baby's diseases will vanish by the permission of Allah (all glory and praise be to Him).
"O Allah, send prayers, peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the medicine of hearts and their treatment, the soundness of bodies and their cure, the light of vision and its illumination, the spirit of all spirits and the secret of their endurance."
