    • @sofit
      @sofit 4 года назад +2

      @@jamesfields4149 i strongly suggest you to buy the model that Chuck use, if you will buy the model for Glock 34 it will be compatible with Glock 19, 17 & 34. You will have to change just the plastic barrel plug inside, they sell this apart (i bought a set some time ago from holsterops).
      Anyway, with a flashlight mounted you will not need to do that.
      I currently use the Safariland for Glock 34 with a 17 & TLR-1HL mounted: 6395RDS ALS.
      Never had to change the barrel plug and it fit the Glock 17 without both optic & flashlight.
      Also, if you don't like the optic hood, you can remove it very easy in less than 1 second!

    If you own a 92 series that fits an M9 holster (I believe most but not all will), you can get full 6004's for ~$30, brand new in the packaging as military surplus. That makes it cheaper to buy the 6004 and whichever attachment platform you prefer and move your holster over then to buy the configuration you want outright; and this video is a very useful guide if you want to do that. Thanks for the great information!

    loved the video super in-depth with it being short sweet and to the point along with being very informative, and none of the "I'm selling you on a holster" vibe as well as showing flaws for every version of how a draw stroke and affect the holster with retention, as well as "relaxed and comfortable" and "it's fucking go time"

    I run belt keepers on either side of my holster which "bolts" the outer belt to the inner belt. Gets rid of most of what little flex there is on the mid ride during the draw. I run a super stiff old school OSOE duty belt which is as stiff if not stiffer than the Ares. Using keepers isn't exactly super ninja high speed but it ads additional stability which I like personally. Something for dudes to consider.

    Safariland does make a t-spacer if you have to use the UBL and need armor clearance, but don’t want to push it out too far or can’t run QLS. They’re about 1/4” thick. Kind of an obscure part but it does exist.

    I don’t want to be one of those guys who has a box full of holster they wasted 100$ on when I don’t even have that money to waste on holster I rather buy ammo.
    Right now I run this kydex pancake style holster that attaches to my belt for my XD 40 with streamlight TLR 7 nicely. I’m learning that I don’t care for the retention which has a nice click when inserted but It’s a slow draw because it doesn’t have any buttons it’s just held in by how tight you decide to tighten the retention screw it also rubs on my hip bone making it uncomfortable as hell since I’m a slim guy.
    This video saved me a lot of money hopefully they have the mid leg strap style you displayed at the end for my XD 40 with TLR-7

    I wish Safariland didn't use numbers for their entire product line up. I get lost. Is it more intuitive than it seems, like L3/Eotech? That isnt too bad when you realize it EXPS or XPS and a combination of 2 numbers for example.

    So I was looking into it for military work and some guys would take their holsters and move them to the top of the plate carrier during transport and/or vehicle missions and they were using the G-code RTI wheel and had one on their belt and one on their carrier to switch out the placement of the holster when going on foot. What do you think about that system, what do you think about plate carrier mounted holsters for vehicle ops, and what do you think about the capability to switch from one to the other?

    • @presscheckconsulting3449
      @presscheckconsulting3449  4 года назад +3

      I'm not against chest holsters, I used them many times. I'm not a fan of a large belt holster on the chest. The bulk of the holster inhibits being able to see things under your chin. It creates a blind spot if you drop something in the vehicle floorboard, to find it. It creates a HUGE seat belt snag Hazzard for rapid egress as well.
      The concept of getting the holster off the hip and on the chest was better than the execution.

    • @presscheckconsulting3449
      @presscheckconsulting3449  4 года назад +1

      A patreon supporter of mine let me know the 6390 was done like that (lower holes) to make a larger void between your holster and body to tuck jackets behind for patrol officers. So the 6354DO is going to clear plate carriers and stuff better but won't have as much gap for clothing.

The holster for an M&P Core 5inch gun with RD and Light is what you need for NF but you will have to remove the barrel plug and take a heat gun to the front of the holster to re contour it at the muzzle of the 2011/2019 5in slide.
