If you guys plan on adding any performance mods to the vehicle get the 5.7. With the 5.7 its much more rewarding and simpler to get real jumps in hp and tq numbers. The scat in my opinion is the perfect car from factory, if you get one with the alcantara package it feels great inside. That being said i wouldnt dump money into a scat and the farthest id probably go would be for mods would be exhaust, intake, and maybe lowering springs but other than that the scat is perfectly built but 5.7 is wanting to be built

Went from a rallye sxt to a 392 daytona fully equipped with all option, it is night and day difference. Love the 392 and glad I got it over the 5.7 ones I saw. Something about that 6.4 hemi and the stance is everything. Get you a taser and you are in for a treat.

My 10th video on watching comparisons and you cleared it up for me tbh. I believe ima go with the 5.7 daytona myself I live in nyc so gas and traffic isn't nice for a 6.4 lol 😅
Plus, expenses (gas, insurance, maintenance) is way lower in the 5.7. 5 seconds 0-60 in the 5.7 is perfect for me. Roads inside Dallas stink, preventing you from doing any serious acceleration. Not to mention, my insurance classifies 5.7 as a standard sedan and the 6.4 as a sports car. A difference of almost $150/month!
Love the vid. One thing you didn't say is 392 needs premium and the Daytona 5.7 says 87 (I run mid in mine). Upgrading from the 2016 sxt I actually like the interior lol
That’s a good point another thing is. You have to run 0W-40 full synthetic in the 392 , which can be costly. You can run cheap conventional oil in the 345 if you want. The 392 is a high Performance engine , the 345 basically is a truck engine. So it definitely cheaper to operate .
I just ordered a 2018 plum crazy daytona rt charger. There’s only 63 of those in the usa and 1400 total in the world.
On the 392 daytona you getting the stopping power also. So you going to need bigger tires n braking pads so again that's another 3k added to ur 3k upgrades to get the same power . So get it straight from factory 392 daytona .
Good info, I am in between getting a 2017 daytona 5.7 or paying more for 6.4...
I know dodge are no longer goin to make V8 so maybe price on these will go up..

I know the smart move would be 6.4 because more power an in the long run probably have a better resale value
If you get the 6.4, you get the limited slip rearend. I just traded my Mustang GT in for a Scat Pack. The dealer wouldn't budge on the sticker, whereas, the Ford dealer took off $6,000 when I purchased the Mustang. Another dealer near me has a $1,000 mark up on the only Scat Pack on their lot.

Depends on the rim size there is a limit to what tire size you can put in the rim before you start messing with the life of the tire
Correction, you will need more than $2K to $3K to make the RT equal power as a 392. Mopar mods are expensive. Its not cheap adding 100hp while NA. Plus you need a cam. 😁
parts plus a shop to do the install and tuning you're looking at 4-5k just for the cam, the you'll need all the other bolt ons, long tubes, intake, throttle body etc.... another $1500 - $2000 to get to 392 power levels

Start with a RT if u can’t afford 392 and slowly build ur way past a 392
yeah 5.7 and 6.4 the hardest to mod , the 6.2 is perfect for that.
5.7 and 6.2 are best for modding

The 392 comes lowered. 5.7 looks lifted. Lol
I love my 5.7. It gets so much hate but its just a smarter buy than the 392. After my last tune scat pack owners here have been so confused and will stop racing. I took of my hemi badges so they either think im in a v6 or the police😂😂😂😂😂

I have 18 daytona 5.7 with mid muffler delete and people are confused on how hard the 5.7 pushes. On them vegas freeways I give scats & 5.0 stangs a run for their money.
Luckily for me I don't have any car friends who will nag me or try to race. I'll take the cheaper Daytona, I mean it's V8 which is so awesome. I have to say though I test drove one and I'm worried about getting arrested driving this shit on the road. It's so tempting to not speed and accelerate real fast.

Doesn't the 392 require PREMIUM vs 345 require REGULAR?
It doesn’t require but it burns cleaner and runs better with premium for both engine types
@@392DOSS Owners Manual says Premium is required for the 392. Midgrade is recommended for the 345, but Regular will run fine with reduced performance.
PentaStar V6 ~= 87 octane
HEMI 5.7 Automatic = recommended 89, 87 minimum
HEMI 5.7 Manual = required 91 minimum
HEMI 6.4 = required 91 minimum
