Deputy Dawg should be on the National Curriculum and all children should be required to watch it by law with dire consequences for any choosing to opt out.
This was really cute stuff, especially Vince and Musky running together...."sure don't take much to outsmart ole deputy dog!!!!!! thanks for posting these.....
Darling deputy dawg - takes 50 years off my life. Makes me want to leave England and go live in the south..............thank you soooo much for this and oooooohhhhhh the music is soo evocative x
Watched and enjoyed DD when I was a yungin. Back then I probably didnt wonder why there was a fire hose in the ice house! Fond memories of a simpler time, to enjoy again. Thanks.
Who Dropped The Curtain on my Toe Bone? We'll Be back Next Week with A Brand New Show. Part of The Closing Theme that doesn't Exist anymore...july 30th.2023 5.33 Pm cst USA
I had the "what happened what happened" phrase stuck in my head for like 3 decades without being able to place it to a certain show. Was a happy man when accidentaly ran into DD and memory struck.
Was sitting here with my iPhone with nothing to do. On a whim of goofiness I hit the Google microphone button and said, "ohhhh my toe bone!" Didn't think Google would have any idea what I was talking about... but it DID! HA! Ain't seen ol' Deputy Dog in many a year! Thanks for uploading! 8-)
I was pretty young when this came out. All I remember was that sign sticking out of the mud with the name of the episode on it in the introduction and then the cartoon would start. If remember going to my mom and saying " can you put that stick in the mud cartoon on? ".
This cartoon seemed to start out in a Florida setting, with an alligator, swamps, Spanish moss, references to Miami and Rte,. 301 tourists, etc. As it progressed, mountains started appearing in the backgrounds and it became a more northerly "South".
That's when I watched it. I was 8 or 9, and this, or Popeye, Huckleberry Hound or Yogi Bear were on ITV before the news. "What you say I do not know, so let's get on (hyuk! hyuk!) with the show"
@fabio40 Snagglepuss was a mountain lion and he was pink. A pink mouintain lion? And whoever heard of a pink panther? Of course panthers and mountain lions are sometimes the same thing. Huckleberry Hound was blue and so was the Aardvark from the ANT AND THE AARDVARK cartoons.
I loved this cartoon as a kid. Would look at it now but it's not in the lineup when it should be. Take away some of the bugs bunny, some of pink panther and road runner. Insert Deputy dog. Please
What I always wondered was why the Sheriff had his own private Ice House to begin with.Maybe he afford it from all the graft money he took in,and refused to share with Deputy Dawg.
Dwight- I agree with you. As a kid i remembered getting the impression that the Sheriff actually owned the jailhouse and paid DD's salary...The sheriff's car also had a Landau roof ( luxury feature). I forget the episode. But i think DD somehow wrecked the Sheriff's car or drove it into the pond😆
what the absolute fahk are you on about, man? They're fkn animals. How the hell can you tell they're of color? Jesus, I feel lees intelligent for even responding tho this crap! LMAO!!
Goodiesguy- Ha! I watched these as a kid in the 1960's on a Black and White TV. Notice i said "a" TV, because there was only one TV in the house...And only *rich* people had *color* TVs in the 50's and 60's. And no VHS, we had to watch whatever was broadcast over the airwaves ( no Cable) at the time. PS- I've also got a few VHS of DD, but they are not faded. (Heckle and Jeckle too)
@@cmans79tr7 me also 1961. and don't forget only 3 stations to choose from nbc/abc/cbs..right black and white television..july 30th. 2023 5.49 pm cst usa
Deputy Dawg - Heat Wave 2256pm 19.7.23 some cats have been suggesting LSD and the like is where it's at... i say, this kindda tv must be watch those cats watch when they're coming down from a hefty dose of that LSD...
& Vincent van Gopher was purple? Whoever heard of purple gopher? But the Great Grape Ape from the cartoon series of the same name was purple too. Dinosaurs might've been purple; there were reptiles. Reptiles do come in different colors more so than mammals. The chameleon for exaple can change it's color to fit the environment it's in to camoufllage itself.
I finally figured out who Vincent sounds like - the kid in South Park who was selling steroids to Cartman. He has a big, dumb companion he's always with (think "Of Mice and Men"). Can't remember his name.
I still love this show at 61 years old!
Deputy Dawg is SO underrated. I loved this as a kid

Oh my, that music. Haven't heard it in years but remember it so well.
even back then it was global warming???
I loved watching these cartoons when I was a kid. I wish they'd put them all out on DVD in a box set collection like other cartoons have been.
Deputy Dawg is one of my favourite cartoons & so was others including Touché turtle as well as the old classic Tom & Jerry
What great memories, love that Deputy Dawg's accent. "Oh my toe bones"

Things in the world are so screwed up now. This reminds me of a much simpler time and makes me smile and forget for just a little while.
Sharkbiteleft Although, it occurred to me that the US was waging a vicious and ill-fated war in Vietnam at the time.
It's known as your childhood ;-)
Howard Turner yeah funny how things never change, the US waging war somewhere that is.

I loved this when I was a kid. This show and terry toons were really cool.
Anything Terrytoons I was all over as a kid...Mighty Mouse, Heckle & Jeckle, Tom Terrific and his mighty wonderdog Manfred, etc.... lol

We had these in England, as well as Astronut. Such a charming cartoon. I'm beginning to wonder if Sheriff J.W. Pepper was based on 'Ol Deputy Dawg'.
My dad watched this as a kid. My kids will definitely watch it.
i feel like a time traveller
This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
this brings back some very happy thoughts, used to love this as a child, thank you for posting it up.
Wow I thought these were lost forever! Thanks for posting
Yes, his full name was Vincent Van Gopher (hence the beret ... artist, Van Gogh), and gophers have poor eyesight.
Such memories
Oh my this brings back memories phew!
I love Deputy Dawg cartoons.
And The 2 Black Crows.
Used to watch this on the Army TV station in what used to be Germany.
it still is Germany
🤣😂😅🤣😂😅
perhaps you mean west germany? ahh, the cold war...those were the days, eh?
Taken years to remember this, Yay.
"WHAT HAPPENED...WHAT HAPPENED??"
What happened? What happened?
This cartoon seemed to start out in a Florida setting, with an alligator, swamps, Spanish moss, references to Miami and Rte,. 301 tourists, etc. As it progressed, mountains started appearing in the backgrounds and it became a more northerly "South".
Money
DD and huckleberry hound are my favorite cartoons
Deputy Dawg could've allowed Musky and Vince to stay in the ice box with him and cool off.
had this on vcr with woody woodpecker
Me 2. Possum: ' it's possible! It's possible!!!" Ha. Nostalgic....
Ohhh my i mssed this cartoon brings back memories
This is fun! I haven't laughed so much in many years!
Deputy Dawg needs to catch a break and enjoy the ice cold water
LOL@ meeting a guy who sounded just like Musky! OMG...it sounds so funny to hear him!
Deputy Dog originally ran from Sept.8,1962 to May 25,1963...
That's when I watched it. I was 8 or 9, and this, or Popeye, Huckleberry Hound or Yogi Bear were on ITV before the news.
"What you say I do not know, so let's get on (hyuk! hyuk!) with the show"
I don't remember this particular episode. Fun.
Oh, very funny & very original!
Don't give up the ice house

Wish Boomerang network would put this Deputy Dawg on, fat chance Cartoon network doing it
Dagnabit as Deputy Dawg and me would say
I loved this cartoon as a kid. Would look at it now but it's not in the lineup when it should be. Take away some of the bugs bunny, some of pink panther and road runner. Insert Deputy dog. Please
It's been a while, but Vince was blind, right? Hence holding onto Muskie's tail while on the run.
Being a mole, he had poor vision.
“It’s possible, it’s possible.”
Is it me or does Ol' Deputy Dog remind anyone else of Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane?
Aww Musky was so much sweeter before he bought twitter
What I always wondered was why the Sheriff had his own private Ice House to begin with.Maybe he afford it from all the graft money he took in,and refused to share with Deputy Dawg.

& Dino was a purple dinosaur & so is Barney. I'm pretty sure no dinosaurs were purple. Besides Hoppy, Betty & Barney Rubble's kangaroo, was green.
😅the irony of this cartoon is true for me living in the south. Especially these past few weeks. It has been hot here, whew 😅!
Just watched this for first time ever . It's 97 degrees out right now in Colorado.
Hand drawn animation 100 times >>>>>>>> than computer animation
Good Stuff.
Someone had to give Eddie Large a career.
Now that will do!
Believe it or not, this cartoon has actually created controversy! A white southern sheriff & Vincent and Muskie, 2 animals of color. Go fig!
what the absolute fahk are you on about, man? They're fkn animals. How the hell can you tell they're of color? Jesus, I feel lees intelligent for even responding tho this crap! LMAO!!
Deputy Dawg is interesting comedy.
What happened ?? What happened ??
"nnnnnope"
-deputy dawg
I came across this cartoon thanks to Waterboy.
Not mention of global warning here. It was just hot.
So weird seeing this with full colour. The VHS copies I grew up with were from washed out film prints.

All the voices sound familiar but I don't remember ever seeing this cartoon.
Good point but please don't use bad words on youtube or anywhere else!
Yes...
I just noticed that Deputy Dawg and Seth Rogen have the same laugh.
Have you played all the American blues book yet ?
I guess there could've been purple dinosaurs. No one's actually seen a real one, of course.

Muskrat!!!!
truly insane
What do you mean? Why is watching something on youtube funnier than watching it on TV?
scott richardsons food
michael douglas acting rude
jody in the mood
I Love Musky
At this point how many counts of burglary did Deputy Dawg have on them.
Anyone have any idea why when I make comments on youtube & people respond to them the responses don't show up in my inbox anymore?

Lenny.
To all those asking why there's a fire hose in the ice house...
..
The building is made of wood. Durr.
Why would they have a fire hose in an ice house?
It can make huge ice blocks
@fabio40 You're absolutlely right.
Classic!!
