Wow. This is probably the most beautiful blue grass song I’ve ever heard. The singing is just out of this world and the musicianship is perfect. Well done. 10/10.
I heard this song on Bluegrass Junction in my truck..... TURNED IT UP! My goodness what clarity of vocals and an exceptional tenor lead.... one of the few with such clarity and you can feel this song all the way thru your heart. I am NOW an Authentic Unlimited Fan because of this song. Every vocal, instrument, and timing is absolutely perfect and the song is beautiful depicting the soul and genre of Bluegrass Music today. Hat's off to these guys for putting together this masterpiece of a song. PS - And Jerry Douglas put his magic of subtle notes in there to top it off.
Hey brother, I knew that sounded like Jerry, but where was he? I never saw the dobro! I just stumbled onto this band, but a long time Jerry Douglas fan. Thanks for saying what I wanted to say, but you said it better! Such purity. But where is J. D.? Glory to God! ☝️✌️
Jerry Douglas is not a member of Authentic Unlimited. He played on the song for them and although this video seem's to be a live performance the sound is actually not from the live performance.
@@danielbrott406 I hear ya, man. I thought of that but it sure looks like they're playing it. Lol...I'll watch again. I didn't think they would just patch in his part, which they could do, it's their recording. Very interesting thought. Anyway, thanks, I love Jerry & know he's not in the band. But he gets around! Lord bless. ☝️
OMG, when he hits that high note I get chills everytime. What a voice, and hell of a band. I just bought this and other songs yesterday by this band. I've played this song a dozen times in 2 days.
Such beautiful lead vocals and solid harmonies along with exceptional musicianship. Now that’s some solid bluegrass right there! Outstanding performance! 🎶👏
Congratulations!! To Authentic Unlimited!! 2023 Nashville IBMA Vocal Group & New Artist Of Year! IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards! Phenomenal job at the Bloomin Bluegrass Festival Farmers Branch 🚜 Tx Also !
I knew this young man since he was about 10 years old and hadn’t touched an instrument. My goodness, John!! You have developed an incredible voice and mastery of your instrument. Congratulations on becoming such an amazing artist! Bryan
John has a spectacular voice. I heard him singing "Jonas" on Bluegrass Junction the other day and was truly impressed. Great band with tight harmonies and outstanding musicians.
Authentic Unlimited has the best vocals in Bluegrass. They're fantastic musicians also. I keep listening to this song and never get tired of it. Love his voice!
If there is a perfect song, this is it. There will be a lot of tears shed over this one. It is effortless, gentle and easy. It immediately brings you to sweet memories or a memory yet to be.
Wow John! You have been very blessed with a beautiful talent and a great family! How many would quit their jobs and move to Hyden, Kentucky so the whole family could attend the Kentucky Bluegrass and Traditional music school? That’s deep love and support, and boy did it pay off. I hope you win a Grammy!
The Meador family is loaded with talent. Check out John's brother Jesse in Kentucky Just Us. Jesse won the national banjo picking contest in Kansas year before last. He is a songwriter/vocalist/banjo picker.
I live just a few miles from Eli and I have seen these guys twice at an annual fundraiser for a small rural community school. Not mention Jerry, Eli and Stephen with Quicksilver. These guys are as nice as they are talented, and we are lucky to have someone as talented and humble as Eli in our community. Hope you can make it again next year. I will be there lord willing.

This is an outstanding performance by the whole band with such beautiful harmony. I love this song and I can't stop listening to it. John's voice is awesome. I also love the songs , Hannah and Jonas . Thank you one and all!!
I cried the first time I heard this, the time that went into the lyrics and musical arrangement is at a level I haven’t heard in years. The Bluegrass World has been wide open and fast with great music and talent, but this, this has been missing. And it brought tears of joy to hear this brought back to the proper place.
@@swampshepherd Not Ireland. America comes from Ulster. That's our people. Mostly English, but the people of Ulster come in very close, EXTREMELY influential in American culture and life, anyone with actual American roots who say they have Irish ancestors likely have zero Irish ancestors and are actual Ulster Scot, uslter is IN Ireland, but they aren't of the Irish people, they are Scots. Another word for the Ulster Scots is "Scot -irish". But I hate that term because it confuses people. Our history has been systematically obfuscated.
I'm sitting here playing this over and over. It's amazing how good it is. This group played at my yearly homecoming back in September, I'd never heard them before. Every member is talented above measure. I'd had John Meador on my Facebook forever but never knew who he was. His vocals are absolutely angelic..I did get to meet them after the show. I'd played with JD Crowe for 4 years and went on to play with Keith Whitley for 8 years..I'd not listened to much bluegrass in the past 30 years but after this concert, I may be back on track.
Heartfelt... tenderness, regret but no animosity. Perfect expression of a relationship that doesn't work out. Only the good lord knows!!! Thank you for this healing
Jerry, Jesse and the boys are absolutely amazing. Tremendous vocals and instrumentals! They will be at Bluegrass First Class in Asheville in Feb 2024. I have been to this festival for many years and it is one of if not the best festivals anywhere. It is inside the Crown Plaza hotel there. For those who do not know, Jerry, Eli and Stephen were in the Last Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver band when Doyle retired. Jesse and John joined and the results you can hear!!!
Absolutely tremendous mandolin player. Harmonies make me love everybody. Just a rush of sparkling talent. I thoroughly enjoyed "Tall weeds and rust." Marvelous harmonies. Dennis Brayshaw Tampa, Florida.
I’m in similar awe listening to this as the first time I heard the Steeldrivers on Pandora before Stapleton blasted off. This song and this ensemble has no choice but to transcend in a similar way. Excited for bluegrass and for AU.
This group has the potential to be one of the greatest ever. Awesome vocals not to mention solid instrumentals. Accomplished musicians and spot on vocals.
This song is simply beautiful. I have enjoyed it so much. Would love to open for y'all if you ever need somone who loves to play guitar and sing country/folk music. I also have lots of friends thta love bluegrassy/folk music:)
My wife and I saw the same show,if ever there was a perfect band, these guys are IT! I didn't know a band could play live at their level of perfection. Love to see them next year, same place.

John and Jesse are ‘Like No Other’ when they are Together!!!!🎶🪕💙💙🎶🎶
My understanding of this is God called her home. Beautiful song and performance.
I agree, "reason why she had to go, only the good Lord knows" gives it away.
And her name may have been Autumn Ann-Marie

Eli lives in Del Rio TN. Not far from Newport.
I am in aww! What a beautiful and melodic song. John your vocals are stupendous. The harmonization is spot on as well as musicianship.
her name was autumn anne marie
knew she'd be the one for me
courted when the leaves were gone
future left yet to unfold
saved my money to buy a ring
planned the weddin' for the early spring
gentle years like summer rain
brought us to a fall of pain
seasons come and seasons go
Autumn left before the snow
she's not coming back to me
nothing's like it was before
i don't have Autumn anymore
but i still love the fall in Tennessee
when i step into the chilly air
i close my eyes and shes still there
walking in the autumn breeze
blows her memory back to me
visions of her smiling face
something seasons cant replace
the reasons why she had to go
only the Good Lord knows
seasons come and seasons go
Autumn left before the snow
she's not coming back to me
nothing's like it was before
i don't have Autumn anymore
but i still love the fall in Tennessee
seasons come and seasons go
Autumn left before the snow
she's not coming back to me
nothing's like it was before
i don't have Autumn anymore
but i still love the fall
-in Tennessee

Wonderful song. This is real country music. Pure anglo Celtic Americana.
I was going to say that I could hear Ireland.
