The problem I have with AlphaStar is that it's as fast as the programmers make it, and anyone can be beaten if it's micro is set to an inhuman level. Like it showed that it's apm was about 1/4 what a pros was, yet every action it's making is the correct impactful decision. Part of a pros high apm is unfortunately going to be spamming.
it has the capability to micro every zergling at the same time as it has no physical limits such as fingers. like burrow micro on every lings below 10 health n shit n perfect creep spread n shit or focus fires n shit
shame we didn't get to see much from Ragnarok here because his early game looks strong af. In game 1 even as Maru is barreling down on his 4th he is still teching and starting upgrades in the middle of it. Maru is just so damn good it's hard to understand.
@@mads4387 it's not a throw as much as Ragnarock can't hang with Maru past the early game. Even when Ragnarock didn't take any early game damage Maru still was outmacroing him
@@mads4387 except it is. If I play Maru, and for some weird reason I'm above in supply at a point in the game, but lose later, did I throw? NO because I never had a chance. God ? It's not true that Ragnarok wouldn't be able to take a single game off of Maru in any conceivable scenario. That's just not how StarCraft works. Everybody loses games from time to time, even Maru. In this case Ragnarok had a winning position which he blundered away, or more commonly referred to in gaming: throwing. I can promise you that Maru is capable of dropping games to players of Ragnarok's caliber. He's a top 32 Korean afterall
20:00 what a bad decision to make that push! Instead of taking the ramp that was open and hit the Terran sideways from left to right, the Zerg player chose the blocked ramp that was focus fired by all the siege tanks. He could have easily won that encounter and the game with it.
RagnaroK threw with the last push down the ramp in game one so close to killing maru and maybe changing the momentum. Poke with the blords! Don’t run the vipers into marines without casting! Great game but was really pulling for him after surviving that absurd tank position on his 4th
So, gentlemen and ladies, we are expert the comments from the youtube, we know that maru is very focusing about his strategies or ideas to against Serral, but we know that maru is an alien and Serral is a half genetic from the queen of the swarm.
Ragnarok played surprisingly well, but unfortunately Maru is Serral-tier, and there are only a handful of players in the entire world to challenge him right now.
SPOILERS: Ragnarok gives up game 1 with that push forward, and losing his hydralisks to the remaining army, when his brood lords were steadily at work winning the game for him. If he doesn't charge forward he keeps the hydras, which keep back the vikings, and gg. Instead he smells blood, and pays for it dearly.
@@blooddumpster3427 Because I don't want to ruin the game for someone who scrolled down to the comments. I know a lot of people say, "you shouldn't scroll down if you don't want it spoiled," but I disagree, and am doing my part to help keep things spoiler free.

Agreed
Ragnarok played amazingly well also. Hope he finds success in next season. Maru's play was impeccable.
"If your marines never take any damage, you don't need to split!" - Maru
Maru's micro in big engagements is so insane
How how how does he macro so sharply behind that?!
@@AllThingsFascinate (" ` " key) and hotkeys. He's incredible
My first maru match i watched was him vs Life back in the championship years ago, been a Maru-der since then
Watching GSL while sipping an ice cold Mountain Dew... life doesn't get better than this
Maru's splits and tank placement / targeting is masterful to watch, truly a thing of SC2 beauty.
RagnaroK almost took that first game. He got a too impatient trying to go down the ramp!

What a treat! I get to watch Maru!
As a terran player, I'm amazed, and also disgusted that he makes the race hard to play for the rest of us as he's one of the reasons we never get bufs
are you blind? what about cyclone and battlecruiser? check all the update log and compere terran changes with zerg idiot

Terran is OP already, T needs major nerfs if anything.
just play like Inno, Maru or TY and ull be fine :P
AlphaStar vs Maru please

Whats the song from 3.45 to 4.20?
what is that music 0:35 ??? I NEED IT
I like how he just split his army in the last game and set up the quick gg avoiding 10 minutes of tense micro
What was that opening salsa song??
Shazam said Alex Wilson but i cant find it
serral's brother in the crowd
Where?
A bit disappointing that this isn't 1080p, should be standard nowadays

I think, the first game was a throw by Ragnarok, when he engaged with his ground army without any reason
Yea he was winning. Don't quite get why the casters didn't acknowledge that.
