I said the same thing! I'm actually OCD so I bust my butt to make it perfect and spotless for every guest. The ones that arrive early drive me crazy. If you rush they will be the very ones to complain about something so no thank you. I will do my job and you can plan better.

I travel a lot for work, some times I arrive at the hotel super early (like 1100 to a 1500 check in time) and most of the time they're chill and get me in without charge, other times they have to charge like $40 to check in early and then there are the rare times they can't accommodate. I never make it their problem, I say thank you and then find something to do until my room is ready. The point of my comment is that Jessica should have stopped and ended the conversation the second the dude said "Sorry, I can't" and respected the rules and him saying no. She had a car, she can find a Starbucks or local cafe with free WiFi and spend her time there.
Once she had the audacity to go to the neighbors instead of going to a cafe or a diner to hang out a bit, I would have canceled her reservation but then I later found out it’s a skit… However, these things can happen in real life
Wow! She was early. Go walk the mall, go get something to eat, go see a movie, sit at a warm and cozy coffee shop. Go to the google and enter “restaurant near me” then go hang. Three hours of down time to catch up on emails, RUclips, a book, write your grandma a letter at a coffee shop or restaurant. So many ways to fill that time that aren’t sitting on the couch watching people clean. …

You can’t just come early and demand them to accommodate you. Drs wouldn’t take you 3 hours early if you decided to get there early. You knew what time check in was. Okay to ask, but not be pushy AND go to a stranger/neighbor house to sit there for 2!hours. The entitlement is astounding.

Not only did she try to make HER Problem, the Hosts issue... but the audacity to bring the neighbour into it?! 🙄🫨🥴 All she had to do... was make a simple Phone Call to the Host, at least 30mins PRIOR to her arrival, informing she would be arriving earlier than expected. The one phone call would have given her and the Host time to discuss her options, since the previous renter had just left when she arrived, such as : ¹ Waiver to have the house cleaned if she wanted Early Check-In, with E.C.I fee. ² No E.C.I, Host could give her some suggestions on where to go to kill time (which he did) There is a reason as to _Why_ there are specific Check-In and Check-Out Times. Hotels can accomidate Early Check-Ins, mainly because they have plenty of rooms, and staff to do quick cleanings. But a HOME is a whole other ballgame. AirBnBs are not Hotels, and really shouldn't be treated as such.

How is it bad customer service? . If she stayed at a hotel the result would’ve been the same. You show up early, you find something to do until check in time. If this was a hotel she could see a concierge who would give her the information of where to go and stuff to do. It’s not his responsibility to keep her busy when she’s early. He apologized and told her why but he was nice about it. Her demanding kind of limits how nice he can be if she’s being so pushy.
