Problem with Paul’s whole “he won with Shaq” bit about Wade, is that Paul needed KG *and* Ray to get his *one*. Add to that, those three AND Rondo entering his prime, with KG still in his defensive prime- lost to Kobe in that second Finals trip. He had two Top 75 players on his squad and lost to a guy who, while he had a good team, didn’t have a player of that caliber on his squad. Not only that, Wade’s peak was significantly better than Paul’s. Paul is a HOF player for sure, but he’s not on Wade’s level.
Be real. He didnt lose to just kobe in 2010. That Lakers team was NASTY. In game 7 the celtics literally lost their starting center, relying on an old and out of shape rasheed. Pau also said to be one of, if not the best pf around that time (partly because kg and duncan were getting old by the ). Problem with Paul’s whole “he won with Shaq” bit about Wade, is that Paul needed KG *and* Ray to get his *one*.
Add to that, those three AND Rondo entering his prime, with KG still in his defensive prime- lost to Kobe in that second Finals trip.
He had two Top 75 players on his squad and lost to a guy who, while he had a good team, didn’t have a player of that caliber on his squad.
Not only that, Wade’s peak was significantly better than Paul’s.

More importantly, Kobe shot 6/24 in that game. His teammates carried them to the win, not Kobe himself. Who hit the clutch jumper to give them the win? Not Kobe, it was Ron Artest. In fact, people were calling for Pau for MVP. Pau in that season was better than KG and Ray for sure. They also had artest odom and bynum, that lineup was insane at the time, despite them not being big names like kg and ray. Bynum was consensus the 2nd best center in the league after that season too. Pau also said to be one of, if not the best pf around that time (partly because kg and duncan were getting old by the ).
I think wade had a better career, but paul’s “he played with shaq” comment has some merit too. KG was really good, but shaq’s dominance was consistently on a different level. Even more so for ray allen

Wades peak was better than Pierces, but Wades stats fell off hard after age 30-31 while Pierce played pretty consistently into his mid 30's.
I thought Wade's decline happened a little later but I agree. And I have Wade just slightly above Pierce but won't dispute those who'd have them equal. When Pierce was at his peak he was fire.
To be fair, Wade acquiesced his role to LBJ because that's what LBJ needed to be his best self & for the Heat to win championships.
