    Great video! Did you test how long can you run the light with the V-mount battery?

      Thanks, glad it helped a bit. I have found it lasts about 45 to 50 mins at full power on a 99 watt V mount battery. I usually have it about 15 to 50% and it goes for ages then.

    Great video, you’ve convinced me to want to get one of these but your link for the battery just brings me to all the battery selections for neewer. Which battery specifically do I need? Would a 14v work if the light says it’s for 16v? Is there one specific battery you recommend, or do I miss that in the video? Thanks so much!

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi, great question and apologies if I didn't make that clear in the video, I usually miss something... So your traditional V Mount batteries are 14.4v traditionally and they measure up to about 15.6v to 15.8 volt with no load on them if they are fully charged. So any 14.4 volt v-mount battery with a D-tap connection will work on it then you just need the cable then too. That's why I didn't point at a specific Neewer battery as they will all work once they have a D-tap connection. There is a good price difference depending on the capacity of the battery also. I have the PS099E, there is 30% off that battery atm as there is a new model coming out soon. I hope that helps a bit.

      Thanks for the reply. Figuring out batteries was driving me a bit batty so appreciate ya! I used ur Amazon affiliate links so here’s hoping they send some of that money your way cuz your video was pretty helpful for me trying to figure out a portable lighting rig. Cheers!

    Can I also use it with npf batteries or is v Mount absolutely necessary?

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  Месяц назад +1

      It works well with the NPF batteries and adaptor plate also. Just to be sure you know this... you need to use two NPF batteries at a time in the special adaptor plate.

    Thanks for the amazing review! What exactly do you mean : "135 Watts cause its powered via mains" ?
    It cant never go to 150 watts in any case scenario? Wich would be a real deal breaker. I mean....why
    advertise 150watts when you cant pass the 135watt mark, maybe im not understanding this correctly ... Thanks in advance.

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, it's a 150watt unit but some of that energy is not converted into light so it's really 135watts light output. It's one of the reasons I always look at the light output on lights especially RGB lights.
      A good few companies do this, it's one of the reasons I mentioned it in the review.
      I hope that helps clarify it a small bit. It's the LUX output is the real measure and in my mind there should be a standard measurement for that also. At least we can directly compare them then.

      I am not sure about that. I was playing with that a while ago but I didn't have the MS150C at the time.
      Common sense would say they should be compatible but with patents now you never know. Sorry I can't answer your question.

    Do you have to use dtap to use v mount?

    • @kieranhayesphotography
      @kieranhayesphotography  4 месяца назад

      Hi Mike, yes Dtap is necessary as the output voltage is higher. It's normally 14.4-14.8 volts so unless you have a DC socket with that voltage on your battery then you need to use Dtap. You can get cheap enough Dtap cables online. Or does your Vmount battery not have a Dtap connection?

      Hi, you can use the Neewer V-mount batteries with the Neewer MS150 and MS60 video light via the Neewer NC010 D-Tap to DC connecting cable which connects to the D-tap connection.
      I hope that helps.
