@TansyPanda what else are they supposed to do? I understand they ruined her luggage but they can’t let everyone go if they feel they need to check further. Even if they ruined someone’s luggage but it also means that hopefully people carrying wrong things would be caught and not just go free because they don’t want to ruin people’s luggage. Also people don’t like it when they pat people or tell them to raise arms so they can check them properly. If someone didn’t do something wrong, they should not feel bad, the security is only doing their job and if they don’t check people properly then someone who really is wrong, could get away. I never take it personally if they want to pat or put some device to rub my scarf as I wear a scarf on my head. They should check everyone carefully. Once they told my uncle to pull out his shirt because they felt something on the scan and they pat him twice. Then they said everything was fine and they thought part of his clothes was showing unclearly on the scan. We never thought bad or angry about it or thought they are discriminating, etc. However, some friends do feel bad and angry if that happens to them but I feel the security is doing their job and it just means that hopefully a dangerous person would not go through security if they check everyone properly who they feel they need to check further.
