Are You Listening? (A message from Yom Teruah)

There is a day of judgment coming. Are you ready to stand before the Judge of all? According to what will you be judged? What are “the Books” that will be opened at the Judgment? What kind of people should we be knowing that this event is just ahead of us?
In preparation for this Rabbi Steve Berkson asks the question, “Are You Listening?” He takes us to Deuteronomy chapter 4 to show the example of Moses exhorting the people just before they go into the Promised Land saying “And now, O Yisra’ĕl, listen to the laws and the right-rulings which I am teaching you to do, so that you live, and shall go in and possess the land which יהוה Elohim of your fathers is giving you.”*

Shalom! If I may refer to you as my Rabbi, too? The current Rabbi presiding over the Assembly at the synagogue I'm attending cleaves to traditions over Scripture.
