When practicing chord switches, always do one strum per chord and then eventually add in more strumming! Otherwise it might be hard to maintain the speed! And just practice with your favorite songs, that way you wont get tired of it if things dont go your way!
Strumming pattern is a little different, as soon as I get to G i try to play D D D U U D D D U! Seems complicated but try to approximately do it and then get your own feel for it!
