It just keeps getting better and better! I'll never get tired of it! That RV had massive hang time!
Umm I missed it. What is the point of this?
If you have to ask, the answer probably isn't going to be satisfying. Peace, Bro.
It looked like Olympic Gold with the distance and hang time and a perfect landing. Another Gold Medal for the USA!
USA. USA. USA.!! I LOVE MY COUNTRY!!!
This is a gold medal event and an awesome video.
From a Japanese perspective, it's intriguing to see how Americans can enjoy sports and competitions like this. If all the spectators were Japanese, I feel like everyone would be more reserved and calm. The level of excitement and enthusiasm they have for events where things explode or collide and break is indicative of cultural differences.
That's just the residual effects of the radiation. The Japs used to be the same way.
A large part of the American national identity is centered around mastery of our environment through big acts of creation and destruction. When America needed to establish itself on the world stage, a lot of that was done through stuff like exerting our will over the whole of the country ("manifest destiny"), building big things (damming the Colorado river, Mt. Rushmore, etc), or reshaping the landscape to our whims. Combine that with the fetishization of the military that resulted from a war of independence, a war of national survival 30 years later, and then one of the bloodiest civil wars in human history, and you have the perfect recipe for a love of building huge complex things for the hell of it, and then blowing them up just because we can. It's very paradoxical.
@@daveemerson6549
It seems that the mindset of enjoying large-scale exploration and destruction has strongly persisted among Americans throughout history. In fact, there are even instances where women partake in such enjoyment.
On the other hand, this cultural perspective is quite difficult for Japanese people to comprehend. Japanese women, in particular, are believed to have little interest in destructive shows.
Japanese people are often seen as too reserved, not expressing their enjoyment openly, which sometimes raises questions about whether they truly embrace and enjoy life.
@@gonbenanashino2652as an American I do get excited by destruction and exploration, but I have a deep appreciation for the Japanese. They have incredible passion for certain things and incredible attention to detail. They seem to display incredible craftsmanship, passion, and dedication in almost every aspect of daily life. I love Japanese tools, cars, and appliances for example because they are built with such care yet are so balanced and well thought out.
I'm a US Citizen, and I'll be honest with you...I found this apaulling. But, maybe it helps to understand Sarah Palin and the MAGAt mentality.
Congratulations Alaska. You were voted the Best 4th of July Celebration in America with this Car Launch! 👍 🚘🚙🛻🇺🇸
Coolest July 4th tradition in the nation. Yes to previous suggestions for cameras and drones.
Video 1320 did more cameras and views and just released it two days ago.
You americans know how to have have fun and entertain people. Great show! Greetings from europe.
Hello friend
The launch crew is on point. Lots of cars making it all the way to the bottom!
Launch crew need to get more in the pond for the big splash and standing ovation! 🇺🇸🙏
Practice makes perfect.
I think a fully loaded semi is in order for next year filled with red, white and blue balloons.
Yeah, wouldn't that be a great accomplishment? Gives "making it all the way to the bottom!" a new meaning!
I'm from Arizona and I visited Alaska in July 2020. After seeing this in an episode of Roadkill I decided I had to see this for myself. I was not disappointed, it was a blast!
fffff
I've been wanting to go to this for years. I'm going next year 2024!
2024 I’m going.
I missed the event, I didn’t know anybody would uploaded this, thank you. The Subaru forester in the beginning is mine!
Sweet
Launching cars off a cliff with amazing views of the mountains sounds like my sort of paradise!
I agree
As a Brazilian, I would love to see this car launch in Alaska some day, in your 4th of July, be with you and ur culture, with all the respect. I love America.
Yeah, the culture.
USAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
Awesome video. Alaska leads the way on fun exciting events. Just fyi all debris and trash is completely cleaned up after the event and all cars and parts are recycled.
Fall Guy truck and Barbi Corvette
Were awesome. Thanks from America!
I love this event. Thanks for posting
I'm irish but i always get hyped for 4th of july because of this event haha. Definitely going to go some year.
I’m definitely going next year.
I’m European but damn I love the U.S.
Btw. Admission is $20 and BYOB and free parts are available after the last car launch.
AWESOME.!!! One of these years, I'll have to make it up there. Hopefully they'll jump a minivan.
This is a great fun event for everybody. Great video,! Thanks.!!!
1320video just came out with a great video of same event.
This is like Beavis and Butt-Head went to heaven...
Hope the drivers are safe and no one got hurt !
They only let Alaskan State Inmates serving Life sentences drive the cars off the cliff….all good
@@bleedinblue5675 nah. There’s no one in those vehicles, so they are probably launched by pushing, remote controlled or something else.
@@bleedinblue5675 🤣
@@NotBrainywoosh! 😊
There is no driver bro
Most Gen X thing ive seen ever!!
And I love it!!
That second one had a PERFECT flight and AWESOME landing!
It was a Ford Taurus, I owned one of those tanks and i missed my calling!
I love Alaska, I've been to Alaska, I went huntin' in Alaska, but this takes the cake! Holy smokes this is wack! Fantastic.
If that even doesn't define what America is, I don't know what would! That was spectacular!
Hell yeah 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸!!
Muricaaa FCK YEAH!!
Way more fun than fireworks or hotdog eating contest! Lol
Y'all got it right! The heck w/ racing, just go straight to the wrecks....😆😆👍👍🇺🇸
Alaskan Nascar with no waiting. 🚗🇺🇸
Never seen a standing ovation for a car hitting water 😂😂 Americans are a different breed
Merica!!! "Oh your car looks fine , I'm sure that will buff right out!" Love this! Thanks for posting.
This brought an immense amount of joy to me lol. Thank you for sharing.
This video and event was awesome for 99.9% of the people there and who viewed the video. We the people loved every minute of it. 🇺🇸
Thanks for this video, from France !
Y hope one day y Can come see this in person !!!!!! To be whith you at the party !!!!
Whith love and respect .
What a beautiful area
The Jetsons moved to Alaska! We finally have flying cars!
Thank you for recording this horizontally, unlike every other spectator I see with their phones up.
Vertical vidiots.
Yes. Awesome video. Thanks
Because fireworks on the 4th of July are too mainstream
Considering in July much of Alaska is dealing with 24/7 sun I feel like fireworks would be pointless
@@InSaneRome yes, that’s why they use cars. Fireworks don’t work with sunlight
I just added Glacier View to my bucket list!😅
2024 Glacier View, AK or bust!
This is america. These are my people. I was at the NHRA drag races in Ohio recently. Same great feeling. And I'm an envious canadian and forget Vegas, I going here next year.
Somehow this is more 'Merican than fireworks, love it!!!
Correct... Fireworks are Chinese.
That looks like a lot of fun and a backdrop is incredible.
Envious I am
2024 Launch getting closer every day! Can’t wait.
Makes me proud to be an Alaskan!
Im jealous!
Sarkasm?
I'd be ashamed!

I’m going to guess this person said this event was another thumbs up awesome event. I couldn’t have said it in German or Latin any better!
You are not alone
So simple yet so captivating. Who would've known.
Awesome event.
I was there with dragon, wasn't sure what to expect lol, but was not disappointed at all!! First time visiting Alaska and would definitely do it again if I ever get the chance!
I hope all the drivers are okay.
You're joking right?
No he is serious!! Bruh!
I think only 19 of the 20 drivers were injured. The driver of the silver Taurus walked away unscathed!! They still have not found the driver of the Dodge Motorhome. 🙏
Most American thing I’ve seen in awhile. Love it!!!
My condolences to all those driver's families! They were so brave 🙏
I think they should be paid more. 👍😉
Driver less drive.there is no driver
God, I love this country.
Exploding motorhome was the best one.
3:53 👌🤣
What a great tradition this has become. I do fear however that it will grow so big that it won't be as fun in ten years from now.
You obviously have no idea how few people live in Alaska, or how hard it is to get there.
It’s like that anymore
There's 350,000 people in the Anchorage Matsu metro area
How did this start?
@@davefroman4700 .....What I mean to say is not that it will grow by hundreds of thousands....But will become big enough that you will have to sit far enough away that it's hard to see etc. I live in Utah and plan to ride my motorcycle up there next year to see it.
I will be donating a 2007 Honda Odyssey Van next year for this event. Any suggestions on paint schemes or themes etc? All suggestions are welcome. Thank You.
Oh ah*t forgot about this
Thanks !!!! 🎉
Love how the videographer starts with "OH my gosh, where am I at?" But within minutes is "HA,HA,HA,HAA, WHOOOO! HAH, HA, HA...." 😂
My thoughts exactly. Compares to championship wrestling.
I love how the patrons etc all cheer and give standing ovations say if the vehicle makes it to the pond. 👍
Good thing they have a yellow safety rope.
Safety first.
Driver job applications now being accepted for 2024 Car Launch.
Please have references for past experience!
I am going to assume the impact area isn't as close to the crowd as it looks in the video...
Yeah it's deceiving from that angle, but this event has been going on for quite some time without incident
Gotta be some MAGA hats there.
Yeah they definitely have a tendency to know what a good time is without all the woke whiney headaches running around complaining about being looooozers at life.
We are always looking for new drivers. Apply at the front desk.
Thank you.
Staff.
Glacier View Alaska
Drivers needed for fun 4th of July event. No experience needed.
$19.00 dollars an hour.
First hour pays $100 bonus! Lol
Because it happens every year when the video gets released ill head it off now. This is not bad for the environment, they completely clean up the mess after every event, its not dangerous, theyve been doing it every year for a long time now, Its just a way to get rid of old cars in an exciting way and use it to celebrate the birth of our nation. Dont think about it, just enjoy it.
I agree 100%. This is an awesome event. The vehicles and debris are immediately picked up by the next day and trucked to the recycle center.
It's not as close as it appears on video, but, you still won't find me in the front row.
Great camera work! Smooth. There's vid from another year that includes footage of all the prep stuff on the top of the cliff. Very intense. And giddy. But serious. But fun.
people are way too close
@@NickyD Video angles from others show a creek and 20 yards of land in between. There's some unintended Hollywood magic going on here. But still...Alaska. The last bastion of reckless abandon in North America.
Video is depth deceiving. Actually about 50-100 yards away from crowd when vehicles stop.
You know this will be good when theres an announcement telling the crowd to move out of the way of flying tyres !!
The tire thing is real. Lol. Several videos have a tire rolling down disconnected from the vehicle.
Thank you, RUclips algorithm.
Re-watching this again ... can't wait for this year show video
I was here with my family, was a once in a lifetime unique gathering I will never forget.
July 4, 2024 I’m finally going.
Great video guys! I enjoyed watching it.
Would love to see the launch side of this too!
I didn’t realise that the crash pit from Regular Show is a real thing.
Why was there no fire and explosions on impact....OH WAIT, THIS AINT THE MOVIES!!
RIP to all the drivers that gave their life for this
Applications for new drivers for 2024 are now being taken. $20 for first hour and $100 for all other hours.
The pedal is pushed down by a brick
This video should be the very first thing extraterrestrial life should see ! 🤣🤣👍👍
Thank you, that was awesome!
These people sitting under an easy up with no cover 😂
This is yet another reason why America rules!
God, I love America!
Grüße aus germany ❤
That was awsome👍👍👍
Do they do this every year?
Yup
Yes
Salvage Title runs great
The cars really need drivers and a full load of passengers.
nice camera work, thanks for the vid!
Best video I saw this year. Great job!
Can catch salmon and watch cars fly off a cliff all at the same time. Murica 🤠🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🤘🏻
If this doesn't make you proud to be an American, nothing will.
The Chevy at the beginning. Like a rock!!! I was strong as I could be!!!
3:54 is the hardest hit in this event's history
I agree.
I wish I knew sooner this was a thing! Now I've got to get myself to one of these
They should class the cars and add bonus points for onlookers taking wheels to the head.
I finally figured out where they be going in their free time now LOL
What a crowd
That's awesome!!!
Beautiful day indeed!!!!
I wish they did this in Alabama!
Only in America 🤣🤣🤣
We drive from ky every year to see this and stay a week its awesome and the people are to
Can someone in the know please give the attendance numbers at this event. My best guess would be
5k to 10k. Thanks.
This could only be more American if the people at the bottom were allowed to shoot at the cars.
I think you've got something. That's a great idea! Hopefully next year
Recorded horizontally😀👍
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Awesome Video
Gotta love Alaska.
Never buy a car that has been rented out in Alaska!
How have I never heard of this until today. This is the most American thing ever
Hello, Matt's offroad recovery? How about a free trip to Alaska? It's a small recovery job. Well... Yes.. Bring that. Yes... I think we'll need that, too. Tell ya what, bring every recovery vehicle you own.
Well done video my friend!
the people driving those cars off that cliff sure are brave
First car: "Where am I?"
Motorhome: "Whoooo"
The Motorhome was so graceful in flight!
And we support all those who will pick up car parts, clean up the soil and replant trees so that nature remains clean after an event like this...
