    There are a lot of problems with airless tires that they won't talk about. Like how the air inside a regular tire actually helps with heat dissipation to keep it from overheating, especially in extreme heat climates. They also have a problem of getting crap stuck in them which can lead to balancing issues (seriously, can you imagine having to clean those spokes?) and if a rock gets wedged in there and suddenly flung free, it could cause damage to something... or someone. They also don't offer the stability that regular tires do because there is no sidewall, meaning they have a tendency to not hold well to the road when cornering, even worse at high speeds. I've seen them used on big equipment and that makes sense, you're not traveling at 55mph down the freeway and you don't have to worry about getting flats due to sharp objects or rocks/sticks (though a lot of normal tires on big equipment are rated almost bulletproof, depending on where you're working, of course).

    • @slick-zq5hj
      @slick-zq5hj Год назад

      They'll get better perhaps. Yeah but not having a sidewall rules it out for anything designed for a speed above like 15mph, especially if turning.
      The solar panel cars were a good idea too. There's not a great reason for it costing a fortune either when car manufacturers could easily implement the sorta thing for probably cheaper than any other business could... But the licenses and royalties would cost a fortune to be able to use the tech without getting sued by everyone and their mother

      And that is why there is a billion dollar company using their money on research and development.
      Plus every thing you pointed out is 15 year old misunderstanding.
      So the air IN the tire helps with heat but by your logic the air all through the tire doesn't.
      Sharp objects and rocks getting stuck in them...going down normal paved roads.
      Oh the horror.
      And you can bet the TIRE company knows about sidewall flex and is putting serious effort into the design, material, cut, thickness etc to keep grip as needed or guess what...DOT won't approve it.
      But im sure you have bested the engineers and researchers with your mastery of materials, blends, pattern, airflow, density, elasticity, cut pattern to keep it strong and to keep air flow where needed, oh and pizza party fridays.

    The narrator clearly isn't familiar with the cost of healthcare in the US: The average cost of non-surgical treatment for a broken arm is US$3,000 to $5,000, with surgical treatment involving at least another $16,000. The only real question is whether or not you have insurance and if it will cover it.

    • @itsROMPERS...
      @itsROMPERS... Год назад

      Yeah, but a fiberglass cast only costs like $20 in materials, and does not need to be pre-fabricated.
      A printed cast would require scanning and modeling of the limb, then printing, then finishing, then fitting/applying. Insurance would probably not pay for it.

    • @itsROMPERS...

      The point isn't that the 3-D printed cast would be too expensive at approx. $500, it's that compared to the overall cost of treatment in the US it's barely noticeable. On the other hand (no pun intended), in almost every other country with universal healthcare, US$500 would be a major expense.
      The ultimate solution, as some of you have already pointed out, would be to create and manufacture your own for a fraction of the cost.

    at 0:58 I think you have an error. I could be wrong but I have had 7 broken bones thus far 5 of which i needed a cast for and 6 of which i got treated. (one was a very small crack that my parents didn't feel necessitated a trip to the doctor.) But usually the cast materials where cheap but it was almost always a multi $1,000 bill to have my limb casted. That is a very high price compared to as splint you can have a doctor design then print out at home. Just saying. I'm not very knowledgeable about 3d printed casts but i do know that the plaster casts where shockingly expensive.

Como los perros de SanBernardo les sugiero un nombre al DRON: FLYBERNARDO 😉

    I don't understand why new modern EV cars are not built with integrated solar panels (on the roof & hood) and a modern dynamo system that can be deployed or engaged on long motorway trips to produce and recharge the car batteries..,like if they did not want us to produce our own energy and use it while driving ,but instead making sure that we'll be obliged to buy it from their superchargers with high electricity prices..!!

    • @camgere

      2023 Prius PHEV can be ordered with solar panels. It adds weight to the car and only adds 600 miles to the range if you leave it in the sunshine all year. A solar car port, which doesn't add weight to the car, is probably more of what you are looking for.

    • @danc2014

      Solar might add 3 miles to your range. It cost more than it can help.

      Solar panels aren't efficient enough yet and probably won't ever be to make it worthwhile.
      As for a dynamo... If you drag something or spin it, it costs more energy than it generates.

      @@itsROMPERS... well today's wind mills are big dynamo ,i was thinking more of a secondary power unit for all the car's accessories like an EPU on an airplane...head lights ,heater & AC ,seats..i'm certain something could be fabricated (size & power) with the proper ratios of pulleys to make it easy on the main E source ,therefor the main battery would be used only for range..same for the solar panels (efficient ones) ,producing enough to keep the inside of a car cool in summer when parked for example..to then not use high consuming AC to cool it down and suck-up the main battery ,it just might be too expensive for now..but not completely out of reach..

      as it gets caught in the tire the netting gets tangled around the axle or suspension and locks the wheel down from moving.

    Some of what was said about the helicopter drone is contradictory. Initially it was said it could be used to pick up cell signals even if the phone is turned off but at the end it was said it was to avoid airplane collisions.
    PS I wonder if you could avoid detection by switching to “airplane mode” and then turning the cellphone off.

    A cast isn't meant to be convenient, its meant to provide strength and support to the broken bone while it mends. Those 3d printed ones coming out of murica sound like something aimed at requiring a lot of expensive after care and readjustment surgeries on top of being way more expensive than a traditional cast.
