I used to live nearby. My memory is that the Cotswold Farm Park has the Rare Breeds Survival Centre. ( What you thought was a "Pygmy Goat' - with four horns - was I think either a Jacob's Sheep, or the Manx breed, the Loghtan.) If I've got the right place you were near the village of Temple Guiting (guy-ting); as usual with English villages, it's very ancient, and called after the Knights Templars. I believe it had one of the first water-mills in the country, in the 1100s!
That four horned sheep with very interesting. I was referring to the small goats like the miniature goats. We really had a lovely time exploring the Cotswolds. It's so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your time with us. 🤍 Jess x

Hiya Jess, Chris and family, ♥WOW what a trip my friends, I felt like I was on holiday with you as you explored another countryside gem. 💎 The pod looked very snug and cosy. I've heard that there is an Indian Summer coming so there's still a chance for some more late Autumn sunshine to come. So pleased you were able to meet some highland cows and all of your video's that involve goats are always so much fun. 😃. I absolutely adore your enthusiasm and once again thanks so much for sharing your UK adventures with us all. Looking forward to the car museum video later in the week. Have a super Sunday my friends, all the best with my love attached for you all. xx. ♥

Stephen, The adventure was a lovely experience to get out and explore more of the Cotswolds! This island has so many things to love about it. We're so happy you enjoyed the time with us. The pod was very cozy. We both fit on the top bunk. It offered a kitchen and toilet/showers down the way, all in wonderful condition. I'm with you about the goats and other animals. I could just be happy sitting in the field with them all day. It was a very nice getaway to visit another place. I will take another summer if it's coming. There you go, one should only judge after trying something! I do recommend Afternoon tea at the RITZ but somehow think tea at a farm open day will always be a more enjoyable adventure for you!!
We visited Bourton- On- The-Water last year. It was pretty busy as there was a charity football match taking place in the water. We had a lovely time walking around, we didn't visit the car museum but we did visit the model village. It is a replica of Bourton, you could even hear singing from the little church. What was funny they had a model village of the model village of the actual village of Bourton.😄
That was a very enjoyable post The Cotswolds are truly beautiful and you went off-season, avoiding the crowds. The drone footage was impressive and showed off the countryside at its best. Those pods on the farm looked to be the sort of thing that a backpacker might use. Barely any room, no facilities that were obvious and probably freezing at night. I think that sleeping together would be a must. Did they have on-site washing facilities? The rivers and streams are particularly clear because they filter through chalk. Love you all.
Glad you enjoyed it. The drone was able to get good views and we were happy with it. The pod was not that bad. Thanks for the info on the filter water through the chalk. Cheers, Chris
Great to see you enjoying the scenery of the Cotswolds. I couldn't help laugh at your weekend accommodation 😄- single bunk beds and a couple of plug sockets. I'm sure you made the most of it 😊
The mushroom-shaped stones are common decorative items in England (not sure about the rest of the UK) but they were originally used in the 1600s to support all kinds of agricultural structures. I think they mostly acted as a base to elevate various wooden structures from the ground, such as haystacks or grain stores, beehives, dovecotes, etc.
I remembered the name just after I commented. I used to drink in a village pub which had lots of old pictures of agricultural scenes on the walls, and there were lots showing staddle stones in situ. A local farming historian saw me take an interest and bored me to death about their uses for months. :-)
I had such a good giggle at your delight at seeing and meeting the animals, especially the little piggies! Another delightful trip, super drone views at the end, and lovely Bourton and the gorgeous honey coloured Cotswold stone. Lovely Sunday evening viewing. Thanks for taking us along. :D
I don't know whether you really appreciate how much these 'trips' mean to myself, and, I'm pretty sure , lots of other viewers. They are so relaxing and I just hope that you feel the same way. In the 50's a hoilday for my family meant one week on the east coast, either at Bridlington or Hornsea. We had a 'mystery' day trip, once a year, in a char-a-banc, we called them charas - pronounced 'sharra' - and your trips are reminiscent of those events. Cheers, Sheffield South Yorkshire.
