Exmark is a brand under the toro company. According to their website. Toro is the parent company.

It got rid of the number of dislikes, so I’ll say I disliked the orange shirt guy and his opinions. Why would you want the bag that gets stuck, the 4-zone wheel adjustments, and the extra weight? What are you doing to the Exmark where the door comes off? I can’t see how with it’s design that’s even possible. I literally just bought a current version of the TORO today with a bad head that I’m replacing, and I have a 2012 Exmark. The Exmark is solid, it’s lighter, it’s got the same engine, it’s easier to adjust the wheels and remove the bag to dump clippings, and the cut is fantastic, that’s because you don’t have to adjust four independent wheels. You’re making claims, but I think you’re not being truthful or you’re misunderstanding something. Either way, talk to your guys, and have them take better care of your shit, or start taking the repair costs out of their checks. It sounds like it’s YOUR name on the trucks and YOUR machines they’re using, they should have some respect at least for themselves, and treat other people’s property better.

I’ve been in the landscaping industry since 1994 and I own a 2005 tomorrow proline three speed self-propelled mower with the blade brake clutch and the Kawasaki FJ180V engine with 1 gallon gas tank. I have run snapper and John Deere commercial and Honda hydrostatic commercial and I have to say that the pro line is excellent however, it does tend to clog up a lot more than I would like but the Honda has the same issue. The snappers seem to last forever and are very basic and I would say that that’s probably the way to go but I don’t see too many people use them. That being said I like my Toro and I think that the extra blade on the Honda makes for smaller clippings in the bag which means you can go a little bit longer before you have to empty the bag

Great video. I appreciate the detail. I own a Toro 21” and 30” for my business. Decided I’d give Exmark 21” a go instead of Honda Commercial.

I have a honda push mower and it's self propelled and when I go to back it up the back tires are locking down and won't back up. Have any idea what would cause that? I love Honda push mowers but this has really disappointed me since it's only a couple years old.

i have the double bladed honda and the wheels lock on purpose to keep it from rolling. I don't like it either it's harder to stipe

Thanks for the video, I like it when you show some of the choices that are available. One point that I think people should consider is service after the purchase. Toro seems to have the support and marketing in my area. I know people keep saying that Exmark is their favorite brand of mower but unfortunately I can't see myself buying something that I would have to travel out of my way when it was time to get it serviced/repaired. Its the same reason I am going with SCAG when I purchase my next ZTR. I would love to try Gravely and Ferris but the turn around time for the two dealers is very long for repairs and they are both more than 20 miles away. The SCAG dealer is a Pro-Gold Dealer with a low turnaround time and is only 5 miles away. I'm lucky like that.

+Gravel Back Mechanic Dealer support is certainly a factor to consider. I love Scag as a brand. Even better with a good dealer.

I like old Honda's a lot. I actually just bought the new plastic deck Honda with the Hydro drive and Blade Brake and 190cc engine and hated it. Most stuff was good but the deck got clogged on small lawns. I had to clean out the deck so often I gave up and used my old honda again. I talked the dealership into letting me upgrade into full commercial with their $1000 21" and didn't like that one neighter. It was much better than the plastic deck one it just lacked power. Eventually I sold that and lost a couple hundred dollars and got myself a Toro 30" Timesaver. I now use that and my couple yr old 21" Snapper with Kawasaki engine. I had to make a compromise but I don't regret it. Time saver for quick jobs and Toro for higher quality cuts. I also have a 10 year old Honda Harmony 215 and I showed the dealership how that thing was ten times better than the newer one they just sold me and they told me thats because my Harmony was a special limited time Mulching Model, LMAO. If you like the newer Honda's than good for you I just wanted to inform you that now days making a good lawnmower is easy every company can do it they just try to market everything to you and if they were all good they couldn't over price the people who will pay it.

i would choose the toro hands down, i do prefer my toro 22298 over the proline. the xmark and toro commercial are very similar but the 3 speed on the toro is better imo. only thing that would make it better is a side discharge for cutting supper tall grass. the commercial toros are stout. the only reason i didnt go with the 30 is its the same engine on the 21 and can have power issues due to cutting 1/3 more grass.

I just bought an Exmark 21 2 weeks ago for next season. I've heard very positive things about them around here. I also run a Toro Proline and Toro Commercial 21 and an Exmark 30. I have had success with all of them and actually recommend all 3 models to other commercial users.

The bagger might be getting stuck on the Toro because your Toro appears to have an Xmark bagger, lol. I wouldn't buy either but I was curious why they're so expensive and I still haven't learned it.. You know lawnmower technology hasn't increased since the 70's. You might think I can get a better Lawnmower than I could in the 70's but the truth is your falling victim to marketing. Consider Lawn Boy and the old legendary 2 cycle mowers they had. When the 2 cycle engine became illegal to manufacture they eventually had to scrap the entire mower. Not because you can't put a 4 cycle on the deck but because 2 cycles have a steadier power curve. That could be fixed with a simple small 2 cylinder engine because of the same ammount of power stroked per RPM with a 30% efficiency increase minimum. Also the Micro chips used in $30 drones at the Hobbie shop could be used to run fuel injectors and boost the efficiency and power even more. Easy 10hp 15Lbs torque and that would make a lawnmower almost worth $1000. Vortex drive deck similar to snapper put through wind tunnel experimentation to garuntee perfect mulching and bagging through testing. I wish I had a company to make my own Lawnmower decks I would change the market.

Good info. Maybe you can find an investor and make new decks for us all. I would say the invention of zero turn mowers has been a been upgrade in technology
