Thanks so much for watching!
Advice from an old woman...watch some of the YT prepping channels to learn how to slowly, over time, build up a stocked pantry so you don't run out of things. It will reduce your stress level. In today's world, it's never a bad idea to have a couple of weeks of food on hand to feed your family in case of an emergency. Even at $5 a week, you'll have a nicely stocked pantry before you know it. Good luck!
We actually have a few things stocked up for that! We keep it all separate from our regular food though.
Couple of weeks supply… I have stashed 36 months… hidden and buried. If you’re a prepper, tell no one 👍👍👍
@@JenniferA886 Smart! I didn't want to overwhelm anyone by saying, "get a year's worth of food." But you're right! If for no other reason than to save money. What you buy today is cheaper then it will be in 6 months.
@@playinatlife5778 exactly… however, the general population has no idea. I used to live in the uk with my ex girlfriend, and we started prepping, and gathered up a few weeks of food and supplies. She accidentally told her brother, the brother informed his girlfriend, that girlfriend informed her family, and before we knew it, we had people at our door calling us weirdos and selfish to the needy, desperate and hungry. Within a week the food and supplies were basically gone, and a week later my girlfriend and me had split up over it all. Now I live in a remote area of New Zealand, and I’ve hidden and buried all my supplies and food preps. I’ve told absolutely no one, and I’m ready for any shtf event. Essentially, when it comes to a natural disaster or a nuclear event, there’ll be chaos and riots… tell no one. And use OPSEC. It’s the unprepared that’ll end you. Great idea as well regarding prepping channels… my favourite is Canadian Prepper - he has a RUclips channel.
Best of luck to you. Careful who knows about your preps, as when it all happens you’ll have many people turning up, and remembering you as “that crazy but prepared old lady with loads of food”. When it comes to disasters and nuclear incidents, friends and family will rapidly turn from “normal” to insane and wild animals with no morals 👍👍👍
Awesome recipes, thanks 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
You're welcome!! We loved these.
Love your channel.. I will be trying both of these recipes! 😊
They are so good!
I love watching you! You cook like I do. When teaching my daughter, she would get a notebook to write down recipes. She learned quickly, I don’t measure anything. She’s an excellent cook now.
YES! A dash of this and a dash of that!
So yummy!!!
Thank you!
I Love that curry paste!
Isn't it great?!
@@FeedingtheByrds That meat etc would be delish on naan!
I didn't even think of that!! YES!!
I think I would have broken up the noodles. I can't wait to make this recipe, I have some sausage I need to use. Thank you for another great video 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
To make your Dutch oven look less “well-loved”, clean it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or better yet the dollar store version-much cheaper). I cleaned my Dutch oven that was covered in smoke from the smoker-came out looking new again from the blacked color the smoke added. Just be sure to wash it with regular dish soap when your done! 😊
No way!! I had no idea. I am going to try this!
My nana always did pinch of this or that!! Love both recipes. I too love Italian sausage, which does have lots of fennel. I use coconut milk in recipes too, lots of Good fats. ❤
Yes!! We love good fats!
I've used the paper towel trick for years. Love your recipies
It's so good!
I absolutely love those wide noodles! The taste and texture is very good. Cooking them in the sauce is the secret to making great pasta.
Thanks for sharing these recipes!
Absolutely! It was so delicious
They all look so delicious
Thanks so much!
One pot dinners yay! Trying to take something out of our freezers every day hurricane season will be here before we know it. 😊 Have a great weekend!
Oh, good planning!!
Good girl! Love your presentations! 😊
Thank you so much!
I found that powder Bar Keepers Friend brought my dutch ovens back to life if that was something you were looking for.
Why didn't I think of that? So smart
Thank you!!!! The pasta looked so yummy! The noodles were beautiful. Great job! You are so talented at playing up your meals. Go Amber! ❤️
Thank you so much!
Looks delicious thanks ❤🙏🏾
You're welcome!
I love these! Thank you so much! I’m thinking of making the curry but substituting another protein or possibly chickpeas and peas or lentils. I love beef but I’m on the “rice and beans pay down your debt plan”! 😂 I also love to use papperadelle noodles! I love the way they cook as well as the texture- yummy 😊🌻
Listen, I love the "pay down your debt plan"! A few years ago we buckled down and got really really tight with our finances so that we could eliminate debt and I do not regret ONE THING!
@@FeedingtheByrds Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
Respect❤
Your recipes are varied and well researched...not typical on RUclips, so many recycle the same ingredients only to give them a different name. Can't do all that fat on a regular basis, been a caterer for decades and have an idea of what people like, you could do my job, I'm sure❤
I have been catering our church dinners on Friday nights for about 35-50 people. OH my goodness. I have such a greater appreciation for that job. As much as I love cooking, I am not sure catering is for me! It's a completely different ball game!
@@FeedingtheByrds it's not an easy job, that's for sure, just wanted you to know I think you're a good cook, even without the recipes
That pasta looks delicious! I also use tongs and paper towels to drain the grease from my meat, it’s the easiest way!
So easy!!!
Hello I LOVE your channel! A quick little tip:I recently discovered the rolled metal sponges work so well for stains for pots. It also works amazing for sheet pans too, And I love your idea of a flour shaker, why didnt I ever think of that!😋😋😋😋GENIUS!
I am so glad you enjoy my channel! I am so thankful for your support.
cool
Thanks!
Love ❤️ 😍 it!!!!!!!!
So glad!
Great recipes Amber, I especially liked the Italian Sausage dish, I can't buy Italian sausage but I make my own using just pork links, de-skinned and I add all the herbs, including fennel, it turns out pretty good. Thank you for sharing xxx
Absolutely! Sometimes I will just buy ground pork and do that too! Love this idea.
a behind the scenes would be great!
It would be funny! That's for sure
We have loved every meal we have tried you've shared. We give them all a 10/ 10.
That's amazing!! Thank you
@@FeedingtheByrds you're welcome, sweet friend.
I made burgers tonight, went to grab the buns and they were gone. I remembered we had sloppy joes last week. I had a couple sandwich croissants left so we used them. So good!
Ok I love croissants so this sounds amazing!
Everything looks great! It's OK Amber....im pretty sure most of us have a circus behind the scenes too❤
Good to know I'm not the only one!
Everything looks Delicious! Do you taste the Coconut Milk in the Drip Beef meal? Thanks for sharing.
I personally don't. I feel like it just adds a richness.
I'm going to make the roast tomorrow and will do it in the slow cooker, it should work right? Thanks for sharing!
I definitely think it would!!
@@FeedingtheByrds I went ahead and put it in the slow cooker this morning and it smells heavenly! So excited for dinner today!
YAY! let me know how it turns out.
@@FeedingtheByrds It was delicious, served with Jasmine rice, so good, today left overs served with mashed potatoes, again, sooo good! Thanks for sharing it!
Yay!!
...." Wait ... I have a flour shaker thingy .." I was chuckling, thinking.. yep. I do stuff like that often...I call it it " hitting the Blondeness Quota ..." ... 😁
Everything looks yuummmmm. .. I love braising roasts, short ribs, etc , especially in the oven. ( which I prefer, but things can be braised on the Stove top).
I think it's actually fine to substitute whatever is on hand , if you don't have that specific meat / other type of ingredient....why go to the Market if it's not " critical " , lol.
The Behind the Scenes sounds like it's own " Entertainment Video " ! 🙂😁😊
Oh it would be entertainment for sure! lol
And yes, I am the queen of substitutions.
@@FeedingtheByrds ..... Indeed, lol ! 🙂😁
That’s A LOT of noodles
Yep. We all got to have it for lunch too!
If I could afford $8/lb beef I'd make this in an instant! Any more budget friendly curry type recipes?
Not on this channel, I did some on my old channel, BUT, I do have some planned!
@@FeedingtheByrdswooo! I usually just chuck stuff in the pan and pretend it's a proper curry. The recipes I see online are overwhelming. Def looking forward to it!
I think you could use chicken thighs or legs in that braising liquid and it would be good.
@@lwalt6428 I usually use bits of chicken thigh to save money but the thigh and drumstick are really fatty. I usually just toss in whatever spices and veg I have on hand, not a real recipe. Sometimes I even use squash to take the place of meat, Using this braising liquid might be nice, you're right
Chicken thighs would be DELICIOUS!
😷💚
I enjoy and look forward to your new videos but it seems lately you are just piecing previous videos? 🥲
Both of these recipes were new.
There are times when I will post a "best of" video, but I try and keep those to a minimum so it isn't a lot of repeat.
