One thing i like about this song is that it actually makes the town sound great with some lines. "Because we do not separate ourselves by more then name." "We're all equal here. No one is superior." That's a tactic real life cults use, since you kinda have to make the cult sound good in order for people to join.
Every time I listen to this song, I think about the many little girls who probably parroted the line "you can't have a nightmare if you never dream" and scared the shit out of their parents.
I do understand that Starlight glimmer wanted to find a place in the world because she thought that her friend rejected her when they were kids but she didn't have to go as far as stealing the village ponies cutie marks and replacing them with equal signs but then again that's nothing compared to what actual villains like Queen Chrysalis and cozy glow have done but I am glad that Starlight changed for the better and I'm glad that she was able to mend her friendship with sunburst and make new friends along the way
I've been re-watching MLP and while I'm not on this season yet I just had to hear the song after probably over 6 years and this is so nostalgic thank you Starlight Glimmer for introducing me to the concept of cults
