A cast of incredibly beautiful warrior women who all have different personalities, conflict and befriend each other, with the perfect amount of fan service and sword play. I'm shocked why this hasn't gotten a sequel and a spin off yet.
When I first encountered the show I saw it was mostly female sword ladies and expected it to be fan service or devolve into some harem crap. I was FLOORED by how the characters were well written and had depth. I went digging for mud and instead found gold. I went in expecting generic trash but found something that's at least as good as FMA.
The anime ended early because the manga was a monthly release not a weekly shonen, and the anime very quickly outpaced the manga. I really, really wish someone would go bad and give it the FMA treatment now that the manga is done though, as I fucking love this series and the later manga chapters were equal parts brilliant and hard to read so the anime treatment would really bring it to lice
the ending surprised me so much! the opening song was so boring imo and the ending is this bombastic masterpiece with flute, organ and an epic guitar solo!

Manga was the anime was cut short and deviated drastically within the final 2-3 episodes. Been a while since I've seen it but the manga is better than Berserk in my opinion.

The anime is 1% as good as the manga. Y'all, go read the manga. The anime is crunched as hell from the Pietá battle onwards because the animation started when the manga was 1/3rd out, so from there on everything is pretty much invented by other people than Norihiro Yagi. The anime isn't bad in itself, but the real thing with the real characters is in the manga. 10/10 stuff.

Thats the only one on top of my head right now. Unfortunately, not a lot that have the same vibe as Claymore. Norihiro Yagi really did a gem with this one
i first read the manga in the early 00s and it left quite an impression on me even until today. from time to time i often think about it. I am honestly surprised that this manga is not picked up and talked about at all since feminist movement grows stronger than ever today. This should serve as a good inspiration for it. I certainly love the themes that it promotes. A brilliant story. I wish there's a continuation or a remake.

@@cheeks_of_the_boreal_valley not only that considering it was made back either 2001 or 2007 it has not have feminist agenda that in the setting it used to have male claymores but females awaken quicker according to the organization. so yeah i have to say that i recently discovered and getting into this hidden gem this is way better than winx club(it's not like i watched it)
