I don't know how many people knows about this but there is one interesting thing about the English title "Puella Magi Madoka Magica". Puella Magi in Latin means Magical Girl, but that's not the only meaning. Puella means "a young girl" but in certain contexts it can also mean "a female slave". Magi means "magician" with trickster personality, similar to Loki (from Norse mythology) or genie, so it can be translated as "deceiver". Then "Puella Magi" can be translated as "Slave of the Deceiver".
Although I love this interpretation, and how much I believe Urobuchi is a genius/sadistic writer... I really doubt they are well versed in Latin. I'm 99% sure they just look up mahou shoujo in latin.

"madoka magica's opening theme: cute and happy" And then episode 10 comes along when the opening becomes the end theme and you find out the true meaning behind the song...
There's actually a reason for that. The promotion team purposely tricked the viewers with bright colors and light bubbly visuals and sound. They didn't want anyone to know when the curveball was thrown. Edit: the songs should actually be reversed. Random fact that I forgot to include before.
You wit here this at first, but very soon. Anyway, I really would recommend watching this, as long as you have a box of tissues by your side... Also, it's much more "deep" rather than frightening. There will be shocks (eps.3) but the more you watch, the more you cry, the more you think.
Thing is, this wasn't just some random grimdark song they forced into the credits of Episode 3 out of nowhere. We heard this song as early as the first scene of Episode 1, and during the fight scene of Episode 2. The show warned you it would have shades of darkness from the very beginning. Once they start playing this song during the credits, however, that's what tells you it'll *stay* dark.
THE WINNER agrees 👍 Although despite it being THE WINNER'S 2nd time watching the series, didn't notice the warning from the music in eps 1 and 2 as till he read your comment and went back to confirm THE WINNER says! 😬🤔
I do so love this group because they have such powerful voices. There's kind of a trend that Japanese women tend to affect a higher pitched voice more often than not, whether that's a deliberate choice or their voices are just naturally higher than many western women. But Kalafina's members have a different kind of energy, and it feels like they invest more in their deeper range, and that's something I love to hear from a Japanese female band.
It feels weird to describe japanese women this way and to think they'd be that different from "western women". theyre women dude, like any other one with gorgeous strong voices. the trend of higher pitched gentle voices is because its what sells for semi cute feverish people who dont see japanese women as people
In my personal opinion, as a woman, it is easier to speak Japanese in a higher pitched voice. I have a very unique voice, nasally and slurred more than ~98% of the population and changing my tone changes the way I speak, so you can disregard that. However, I think it's also a cultural thing, as Japan definitely has It's problems with feminine standards, some unique and some similar to the west, especially America. I also see "guy protects soft distressed girl" more often in Japanese media. This culture also very much affects real life, especially in younger people, both men, women, and in-between. What's fascinating is that almost all the Japanese women I've met have a middle toned voice.
A while back, my friend was looking for a new anime to watch. I suggested that she should watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She said: "No, I want to watch something deep and dark." Again, I tell her to watch Madoka Magica. Again, she says no. Finally, after much pestering, I got her to watch it. When she got to the 3rd episode, she called me and asked me why I made her watch such a depressing show. My face then: :/
Skyrah1 I prepared a ton of tissue boxes for Rebellion. I found myself on my toilet, looking like I saw a ghost, and haven't stopped shitting for 8 hours.
Huge props to Kalafina and also Yuki Kajiura who did most of the other tracks in the series too. Most people know Kajiura from SAO but I’m personally most familiar with her work on Xenosaga II and III and all the amazing tracks she did there.
This song hits way different after seeing Homura's backstory. Early on, in the beginning, it's an awesome battle theme. Near the end, it's a prelude to a repeating tragedy that only gets worse each time.
Madoka Magica is like a candy shop build over a native american burial ground, on the surface, it's fun and smiles everywhere, but then you dig down and all the innocence just kills itself, in front of you.

I am not going to lie. It was this music and the scene in the first episode where Homura was duking it out with Walpurgisnacht that made it pretty obvious that this wasn't going to be your average Magical-girl anime. And when I saw it from Homura's perspective later on in the series it was just extreme nightmare fuel. watching her scream out to Madoka to not listen to Kyubey while she fell into the darkness was just disturbing. And then there were the end credits with the girls flickering outlines which was just spine-tingling every time

Hikaru's voice type allowed Kalafina to do more of rock-influenced songs. Different voice types have different strengths and allow you to expand the styles of music you write for a group. She was a worthy addition.
I saw someone on another video say that you never forget your first Kalafina song and I definitely think that's true when your first Kalafina song is *this*

Let me just say Kalafina is one of the best bands I have ever heard. I first heard them from Fate/Zero and I immediately fell in love. They're voices are like angels, the voice you'll hear when your in heaven. I watched Madoka recently and spent an hour looking for this beautiful song. One reason I love Fate is because I know this band will have some part of it. You go, Kalafina. The day they break up will be the day I die. P.S. For those of you who didn't know, Madoka and Fate/Zero are made by the same creator, but I don't think Madoka ties into the Fate series in any way.
I first discovered FictionJunction (Thanks to Pandora Hearts), then I discovered Kalafina (Thanks to FJ). I love both groups, but I admit liking Kalafina more....
From innocent to guilty, this is my taste. Steins;Gate, Madoka Magica, When They Cry, and Re:Zero are the best first warning episode to the real beginning!

Sailor Italy Your quote replaced my old Skype message about lying cake and not so much lying snow (with reference to when it was snowing and no cake was present).
Josh Leitzel You ever gonna watch knk? :( Went through all that effort...I haven't had much time to be online, but that's the one conversation since we started talking that I want to finish. xD
I'm starting to feel kind of like a dick now, so MAYBE I'll finally marathon it all before I have to go back to the institution. Honestly I don't think I've watched any anime all summer. I've been having a resurgence of interest in video games instead.
Yeah same here, I've been replaying fallout 3 and new vegas, and I'm always playing halo. I've actually made it a point to really only watch anime with friends, so that it's a social activity rather than a solitary one. I'm finding that it works quite well that way. The one major show I've been watching with friends is hunterxhunter, which I'm enjoying thoroughly. I've also started noragami, the art of which I am in LOVE with, and sidonia, which has been good, as expected. A few years back I was marathoning shows in a day, on almost a daily basis, but it got to a point where I said enough's enough. Since then, I've really slowed down to maybe 1 or 2 new shows a month, but I almost always enjoy what I'm watching. From my own personal experience and talking with others, I see that a lot of people treat anime like it's an endless well of amazing shows, when it's really not. It pretty much follows the 99% rule, as with anything else, so I much more like the idea of spreading it out for the foreseeable future, instead of gobbling it all up and coming to a day where I say "oh, fuck, well what do I watch now?" Anyway yeah, always looking forward to that conversation in the fuzzy future. :p
English again lol >.< I interpreted the "after watching this series" to apply to the OP, which meant that he (after watching the series) couldnt understand why people would want to be a magical girl. However, it can also be interpreted that the "after watching this series" applies to the people who want to be a magical girl. Hope it doesnt sound confusing :P
KHRrocks That's an interesting way of interpreting what I said. After reading my post again, I can see how you could read it that way. There's nothing to worry about. Haha
Homura continued to fight even when she had nothing to fight for. While magical girls were despairing left and right once they knew how awful the world really is once you're not a child anymore, killing themselves or others, Homura just ignored the warrior's pain. Even though she knew that she couldn't save Madoka or bring "her" Madoka back, Homura fought for all of us. Homura = Batman.
Those are indeed the best shows, especially when they're focused around children and teenagers. However, without the empathy to balance the sadistic joy with sadness over the events, you can't say you have enjoyed the show in full. I definitely loved the show's darkness. But it would have meant nothing without my grief for Mami and Kyoko's deaths.
@@JabamiLain I just mean all these people that didn't do any research and say how brutal it was hahaha if it wasn't I definitely wouldn't have watched it. This is in my opinion the best anime ending theme. And is it just me or does Kalafina make the best anime opening and ending themes? Madoka Magica, Arslan Senki, Fate/Stay, and Aldnoah.Zero just to name some. :D

I went into Madoka Magica completely blind, thinking I was getting some moe-blob SoL. That went completely out the window. At least with Doki Doki I knew beforehand it would get crazy. Still one of my favorite series of all time.
Okay, I love this song and I ADORE Madoka Magica. It has an amazing story, great animation and wonderful characters. But I hate it when people say that its the first dark Magical Girl anime. Did everyone forget about a certain little anime called Revolutionary Girl Utena? Or if that doesn't count, then Princess Tutu? Even some of the light MGs had dark moments. Sailor Moon was full of them. In one episode, the senshi were crucified! Even PRETTY CURE had dark moments. Have you SEEN Heartcatch? A mascot DIED and the girl who he belonged to fell into deep despair. Ojamajo Doremi, which is a cute witch anime, tackled subjects like divorce, trauma, miscarriage and even had a young girl DIE of CANCER! And she was much younger than the Madoka cast. So yeah, Madoka Magica is an amazing anime, but it is NOT the first dark Mahou Shoujo.
It's all about overcoming adversaries with a sense of humor. Why should only muscular guys get to battle those things? Show us what they're made of... that's the idea of these episodes.
THANK. YOU. Madoka Magica, in my own belief, got popular because it was marketed as a kid show, and doesn't seem dark at first glance. At least it isn't Magical Girl Site-
People say it it's dark because it is the first magical girl anime which is... actually dark. I never watched an anime made me feel like dark. Some other "dark" animes made me feel kinda empathic, sad and wierd. PMMM was just... smartly written and confusing your feelings mysteriously in labyrinth scenes, in the episode when Sayaka died, in episode 10 when Homura felt like she gave up but she didn't and tried keep going even how hopeless it was and in The Rebellion movie.
@@alexgainsborough4921 I'm actually being serious; a lot of the inspiration for his creations came from the fact he was a GIGANTIC racist. Mind you, he's from a time when that was actually socially acceptable... but he was still a massive racist.
Madoka Magica passed a lot of other anime on my top anime list and is now number one...my friend told me to watch it and i saw the op and was like "ew..." but im glad i eventually came back and watched it! I cried so much and I love how it all ties together at ep 10, then you can re watch the series to understand homura more. beautiful.
yeah the opening and the first two episodes trolled everyone hard and then you get to like episode 3 where the mami scene happens and then that wakes everyone up to what this show is actually like and was going to be totally different to what was seen before and then it's just a rollercoaster ride from then on where everything goes downhill for the characters but makes for a really good show.
You guys were trolled by the first two episodes? Let me teach you a basic rule of ANY MEDIA EVER. Whenever you hear the word "contract," run. Run away as far as you can. And then Mami showed them the SOUL Gem and I was like "yep, Kyubey's evil."
I kinda had a deep brain, which i knew at one point in any of the episodes was going to reveal the true nature. The two episodes where nust a warning. Enjoyed the entire season, worth my time
Let me be clear, I...DESPISE...the magical girl genre. I would rather gouge out my eyes with a vegetable peeler. I refused to watch Madoka for the longest time despite my friends almost rabid insistence to do so ASAP. Finally after being browbeaten and tricked into imbibing two thirds of a bottle of Scotch with him, I capitulated. I have never regretted it for a second since. A masterpiece of storytelling and visuals that profoundly challenged the paradigm of the genre. It delivered an experience like no other anime before or since (and I've been watching anime since Voltron, Our Star Blazers and G-Force). This series is a must watch and its sequel, Rebellion, will completely destroy you, leaving you hollow and shivering in the dark.
I refused watching Rebellion of this anime till summer. Because I have a feeling if I watch it now... I will have problems with studying... Because I'm going be completely destroyed.
***** Typically speaking the magical GIRL anime genre focuses on... Wait foooor it.......G I R L S. If your looking for strong male lead characters, I'm thinking this isn't the genre for you...just saying. Try Dragon Ball or Naruto...Darker than Black maybe if your like a psych twist in your anime.
***** Unfortunately there are very few anime that feature both. I will keep a look out, if I find any that have both male and female leads I will let you know.
i love the whole song, but the percussion in the beginning before the lyrics start is my favorite bit. if "Connect" demonstrates what _Madoka Magica_ look like on the surface, then this exemplifies what it really is
''This is horrible!'' was what madoka said when this music played. then she fell to despair and destroyed the world in 10 days after turning. its official, haters are the bain of everyone's existance.
Remember dear scaredy cat, when you spot baddass anime theme like this, no matter how sweet the art style is, run for your life. If they didn't joking on making this kind of music, imagine the original story
A word of advice for anyone who wants to watch Madoka Magica: If you are prone to panic attacks and anxiety, I would not recommend watching it because once it gets to the third episode it gets freaky and messed up and it may trigger panic attacks. Just a fair warning. If you are not prone to panic attacks and anxiety, I STILL recommend slight caution when watching and possibly a box of tissues for all of the tears you will shed. ~enjoy~ p.s. If a little alien cat thing comes up to you and asks you to make a contract, do. NOT. say. yes. if you value your life in any way whatsoever. If you do, however, say yes, I BEG of you not to make your wish "I want to go to Disneyland" or I will bash my head against the wall until it falls off and I bleed out like Mami
everyone gangsta until a discombobulated looking cat pops up in your house and asks you to make a contract with it so you can have 1 wish come true and in exchange you become magical with a risk of losing your life each time you fight things called witches and familiars
I think... I think I like Kalafina. I like that almost operatic metal feeling they give off. The voices are just so damn gorgeous, and backed by guitars and strings just enhances the power of their presence all the more. I wish US radio stations were allowed to play J-Pop and J-Rock, just so people wouldn't be so close-minded and find they can appreciate that sometimes the best stuff isn't even in English.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica shall ever be known in Anime history as the one who broke the Magical Girl genre. You think being a Magical Girl is all flowers, justice and fun? Think again. Nietzsche was right. The world sucks and the only course is nihilism.
hereLiesThisTroper Nihilism is for the weak. Those who succumb. This is what happened to some of the magical girls when they found out the truth. Strength is finding the light in the dark. The world is whatever you make it, whatever you want it to be.
***** That's the idea, and that's what you should do if you can! You have to find the positive and find the joy in life. There will ALWAYS be people suffering. But there is also a lot of love in this world. What I love about Madoka is she focused on love and the light in life despite all the darkness around her. Kind of the theme in Harry Potter as well.
***** You go girl. If you wish to make a magical girl story, throw her into the abyss of a nihilistic world where there is no hope and meaning and make her overcome it. Not by doing the cliche, 'if there's no meaning in the world, then I'll make one', (that's a philosophical contradiction) but letting her realize that Nihilism is a completely bankrupt and absolutely wrong worldview. So, let her teach the villain that nihilism is unlivable and that people indeed have intrinsic value and meaning.

"madoka magica's opening theme: cute and happy"
And then episode 10 comes along when the opening becomes the end theme and you find out the true meaning behind the song...
There's actually a reason for that. The promotion team purposely tricked the viewers with bright colors and light bubbly visuals and sound. They didn't want anyone to know when the curveball was thrown.

"I was so stupid"
(tears up) *"So stupid."*
The movie does a lot better job at waiting to reveal the mood of the anime than the show did
THE WINNER agrees 👍
Although despite it being THE WINNER'S 2nd time watching the series, didn't notice the warning from the music in eps 1 and 2 as till he read your comment and went back to confirm THE WINNER says!
And their songs have a unique taste too. I can hear a song without knowing it is Kalafina’s and can guess it’s theirs.
It does have similarish vibes to the PHANTASM stuff (the group who sang the ED to Steins;Gate and a lot of other EDs to the Science Adventure VNs)
It feels weird to describe japanese women this way and to think they'd be that different from "western women". theyre women dude, like any other one with gorgeous strong voices.
the trend of higher pitched gentle voices is because its what sells for semi cute feverish people who dont see japanese women as people
I agree so much, I love the deeper range of this a lot!
She said: "No, I want to watch something deep and dark."
Again, I tell her to watch Madoka Magica. Again, she says no.
Finally, after much pestering, I got her to watch it. When she got to the 3rd episode, she called me and asked me why I made her watch such a depressing show.
My face then: :/
There's deep and dark. And then there's PMMM.
I literally laughed after reading your post. Funny friend you have.

I said it before and I'm gonna say it again but Madoka Magica has the best soundtrack in anime history
Huge props to Kalafina and also Yuki Kajiura who did most of the other tracks in the series too. Most people know Kajiura from SAO but I’m personally most familiar with her work on Xenosaga II and III and all the amazing tracks she did there.
They also killed it with fate, there's definitely a common trend or vibe but it always hits hard
Юки Каджиура - ГЕНИЙ! Другие её работы не менее потрясающие.
they are amazing but in the history of anime is a stretch
There are a LOT of anime with great soundtracks though
This song hits way different after seeing Homura's backstory. Early on, in the beginning, it's an awesome battle theme. Near the end, it's a prelude to a repeating tragedy that only gets worse each time.
Homura is the definition of Insane. Repeating actions over and over again hoping for a different result.
Madoka Magica is like a candy shop build over a native american burial ground, on the surface, it's fun and smiles everywhere, but then you dig down and all the innocence just kills itself, in front of you.
Also known as life. Great analogy by the way.
The anime itself spit on your face that fellings are the real enemy and not kyubey or witches.
A bit specific with the type of burial ground, but good analogy anyway
Darth Godzilla it’s because Native American burial grounds are a common symbol in horror for impending doom
So. Wait. You mean. It's like higurashi? I uh. May have to check that out then
When this song played after episode three you knew the show just took a left turn.

And then there were the end credits with the girls flickering outlines which was just spine-tingling every time
Hell yeah. That's called good writing!

Hikaru's voice type allowed Kalafina to do more of rock-influenced songs. Different voice types have different strengths and allow you to expand the styles of music you write for a group. She was a worthy addition.

Madoka Magica Darker than a Night without Moon.
+Carlos Herrera Shining with countless stars, tiny rays of hope, fighting against the darkness in enless void... Yup, definetly Madoka.
Sailor moon to be exact.
how is it sailor moon? ive never watched that show, but i thought it was for kids :P
No its Madoka Magica is a night with a half moon in the sky. There's definitely darker stuff, such as Berserk and 177013
Nah, it's just that Walpurgis Nacht is covering the moon.
RareFairyRaindrop I love you for making that comment.
I first discovered FictionJunction (Thanks to Pandora Hearts), then I discovered Kalafina (Thanks to FJ). I love both groups, but I admit liking Kalafina more....
RareFairyRaindrop Yuki Kajiura should work exclusively with the Urobutcher, because the SAO soundtrack was vastly inferior to both Meduca and Fate.
MusicMakesYouBraver Er don't you mean Madoka instead of Meduca? XD
LayLyann Tarabay Irizarry I don't understand what you mean.

boi finally someone with my type of anime
I love that this is basically a Homura character song-the lyrics are so good. T-T Here's my translation:
Someday the light of love
Burning in your eyes will transcend time
And surely only bring destruction to
This dream of a world hurrying toward ruin
Swallow up your hesitation
What is it that you wish for?
Is there some fleeting future that would
Fulfill this greedy yearning?
Like the ancient magic
I saw in my childhood dreams
With a power that shatters even darkness
I want to reach your smiling face
Clutched within these frightened hands
Is the courage of lost innocence*
My aspiration is all that I can rely on
A wish
That calls out to wake that light
Someday you too will desire that power
For someone else's sake
One night,
when your heart is seized by love
Those nebulous words will emerge
If I can proceed unwaveringly
It’s fine if my heart breaks
I want a spell to fight against
The tragedy that’s
Always before my eyes
You, a still-dreaming memory
Me, a sleepless tomorrow
I will continue on to fight toward
The miracle of our meeting
Clutched within these frightened hands
Is the blade of lost innocence*
My aspiration is all that I live for
A wish
Brandished by my heart
That shining time of captured sunlight
When I loved that book about Wonderland
I used to believe in those fairytales
That tell us dreams always come true
(Within the light and the shadow)
Quietly disturbed from blooming
The ancient magic gently whispers
That the power to change the world
Is in your hands
Let’s live in an unending dream
Of the time I’ll spend with you
My aspiration is all that I live for
To build that life
Is my wish

Haha, his reactions should be fun to watch.
It pretty much follows the 99% rule, as with anything else, so I much more like the idea of spreading it out for the foreseeable future, instead of gobbling it all up and coming to a day where I say "oh, fuck, well what do I watch now?"
Anyway yeah, always looking forward to that conversation in the fuzzy future. :p
Corranhorn122 That's a good idea, I should do that too. Even though I knew there was some kind of twist around episode 3, it still surprised me.
Not me coming back to feed the hype pre-september 10, Madoka fandom will raise upon the grave

KHRrocks The original poster stated in his comment "after watching the series". Besides, I was just agreeing with him.
Everyone is all emotional about Madoka Magica. It was exactly what I signed up for pure darkness. Same as 'when they cry" great shows.
Am I like the only one who likes this kind of music?!?!?!?! Because I feel like I'm the only kid in my entire school who listens to any music like this and adores it. Please someone let me know that I am not alone!!!
My entire playlist is filled with j-pop and anime theme songs. You're not alone
I hope it has Kalafina in it
***** I absolutely agree 100%
Homura Akemi "Do not forget, as long as you remember her, you are not alone"
Yohimo Asakura I know I will remember Homura...
Another song I'm gonna have a hard time stopping replaying... :P
after all these years this song still slaps SO hard
In my opinion, these lyrics are written from the perspective of Homura. Just read the translated lyrics.
TOTALLY TRUE OMFG
Oh yeah, they absolutely are. In a bit of brilliance the visual cues to make you initially think it's from Madoka's perspective, and it's not until things really start revealing themselves that the reality of it comes into focus.
well, madoca might be the center of the story, but homura and her actions are the driving force while madoka is almost a mcguffin for most of the plot making in the end homura the main character.
ah Magia~
The song that haunted most fans of madoka magica at 2011
and paved the way for dark moe anime
Madoka Magica -
QBEY - MAKE A CONTRACT WITH ME!
Humoora - NOOO DUNT MEGUKA
Meguka - Ok
Humoora - Rage quit change
QBEY - MAKE A CONTRACT WITH ME!
Humoora - KILL IT WITH FIRE
Meguka - No Humoora

Hameru can win?
I wanna be a magical girl
Till this day, this song (and so many songs by Kalafina) is my all time favorite to listen and singalong. It’s so good. And I really love every live performances.
what a pity that they no longer sing all together :( we lost such a magical group
This is in my opinion the best anime ending theme. And is it just me or does Kalafina make the best anime opening and ending themes? Madoka Magica, Arslan Senki, Fate/Stay, and Aldnoah.Zero just to name some. :D
+Friendly “Jokivirta” Claw They were big many years ago when they first debuted in Garden of Sinners and also made their way into really mainstream anime like Madoka. Their success rely a lot on their mentor Yuki Kajiura who was actually the one responsible for getting their singing into these great anime, but Yuki Kajiura has been inactive for a while now. I heard she is going to be involved in a new anime soon, so I hope to see Kalafina get some more exposures.
+Gundam Magic Inactive?
I guess you're talking about her doing OST for animes .__.
Kalafina recently realesed a new album and all their songs are composed by Kajuira Yuki.
Kara no Kyoukai is the big one
black butler
Yuki Kajiura is a goddess lol she doesn't miss on anything
For those planning to watch Madoka Magica, prepare for a sudden drop into a dark labyrinth and tears pouring out of your eyes.
I just did, and yet I am not shaken.
Nonono, you have to tell them it's a bubbly happy super artistic magical girl anime, you can't just go and spoil it. I was told this that it's a well-written happy-go-lucky magical girl anime with elements of faux-Czech animation, and that hooked me. Then you go in for the kill come ep 3.
I'm too dead inside to be here
Type Here me neither, guess being dead inside pays off sometimes
At least the madoka world are not as fucked up as real world 😂
I guess I'm the only one here who's sad because Kalafina disbanded...
I'm sad about that too :c
It is sad. My only confort is that I got to see them live before they disbanded.
Why they disbanded? ;-;
@@thehealingwordswriter1716 the main composer for the group is retiring. Since the group's songs (and the group itself) were exclusively created by and for Yuki Kajiura, since Kajiura herself is retiring they have to disband too. Don't worry though, they're all coming back as solo artists.
@@norasyikinali6283 Is she really retiring??? I heard she left Kalafina because she had a falling out or something with a new higher-up in Space Craft (their label/agency)
I went into Madoka Magica completely blind, thinking I was getting some moe-blob SoL. That went completely out the window. At least with Doki Doki I knew beforehand it would get crazy. Still one of my favorite series of all time.
Because this couldn't be awesomer enough.
_It also surprises me this song is the ending of a Magical girl anime_
Sєуcнєℓℓєѕ But: have you seen said magical girl anime?
_yep_
That fight with Walpurgisnacht was really something.
_Yeah_
yup
nononono
Back here again in 2023... to feel some genuine dystopia vibes.
Still a true masterpiece I recognize.
Omg I fell in love with these guys from black butler. I didn’t realize they also sang this!!
☝️
At least it isn't Magical Girl Site-
It's true!Sailor Moon is dark too(a little) !
AWESOME
if h.p. lovecraft wrote sailor moon
Except the characters wouldn't have been moe girls.
@@YamiAi Nor Asian because, let's be honest with ourselves... Lovecraft was racist as hell.
@@SeanStrife I agree: he fiercely hated fishmens.
@@alexgainsborough4921 I'm actually being serious; a lot of the inspiration for his creations came from the fact he was a GIGANTIC racist. Mind you, he's from a time when that was actually socially acceptable... but he was still a massive racist.
But so are so, so it evens out.
the anime’s look: 💕🌈✨
the anime the more you watch it: 💀🖤🥀
Sister: hey watch madoka magica it’s cutesy and adorable
Me: okay
*third episode* :imma end this girls whole innocents
Cookie_ Crazer I did this with my sister, the psycho laughed when Mami’s head got bitten off
I KNOW THAT WAS SO UNEXPECTED
My Dream is to have a live like these girls..........
Rehan Zainul Abdeen wait wut
Mami just couldn't keep her head in the game
Enjoyed the entire season, worth my time
Sailor Moon + evil creatures + fucked up world = Madoka Magica
The world is fucked up already as it is :3
Sebastian Petruška The world is fine and there is nothing wrong with it, the people are the fucked up ones
+Keiko Kitten You forgot Despair
Oh my friend you do not understand. Madoka Magica is way more complicated and messed up then that.
+guns&explosives. Tons of them.
Everybody, please stand up for listening the national anthem of my life.
I have a big flex
My first listen to this song is on TV when I was 6yo as it aired midnight :)
Madoka magica forever
I've finished watching this anime an hour ago and I can say I feel your words :(
I refused watching Rebellion of this anime till summer. Because I have a feeling if I watch it now... I will have problems with studying... Because I'm going be completely destroyed.
There's no way rebellion can be worse than Neon Genesis Evangelion in terms of mind fuckery :p
Madoka Magica really filled the hollow that Fate series left me with
i love the whole song, but the percussion in the beginning before the lyrics start is my favorite bit.
if "Connect" demonstrates what _Madoka Magica_ look like on the surface, then this exemplifies what it really is
Modaka Magica. Looks like a cute and bubbly anime right? WRONG! SO WRONG! EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS A LIE!
Oh god the ending!!! I cried, not gona lie ;_;
***** Same here XD
Ikr!?
Sirenswift Me too ^-^
Yas im not alone!!
''This is horrible!'' was what madoka said when this music played.
then she fell to despair and destroyed the world in 10 days after turning.
its official, haters are the bain of everyone's existance.
XD
hehe. proof that light shines in the darkest of places
Horribol? encerio men?
nalorcs Price?
+Eduardo Marquez Enserio*
Remember dear scaredy cat, when you spot baddass anime theme like this, no matter how sweet the art style is, run for your life. If they didn't joking on making this kind of music, imagine the original story
I would say this was kalafina at their best but honestly, their whole career was full of great music. I hope they have a reunion tour one day.
Being Meguca is suffering...
hameru pls stahp
So? You think I don't know that?
Coobie!
i become Meguca!
It's "Madoka".
Jeanne Dumaplin wooosh
A word of advice for anyone who wants to watch Madoka Magica:
If you are prone to panic attacks and anxiety, I would not recommend watching it because once it gets to the third episode it gets freaky and messed up and it may trigger panic attacks. Just a fair warning.
If you are not prone to panic attacks and anxiety, I STILL recommend slight caution when watching and possibly a box of tissues for all of the tears you will shed.
~enjoy~
This has been a PSA
no matter how many times you listen it's always as good as the first time 👏
everyone gangsta until a discombobulated looking cat pops up in your house and asks you to make a contract with it so you can have 1 wish come true and in exchange you become magical with a risk of losing your life each time you fight things called witches and familiars
And then your Soul Gem goes dark and WHOOPS!! Now YOU'RE a Witch!!
The world sucks and the only course is nihilism.
hereLiesThisTroper Nietzsche hated nihilism almost as much as idealism.
hereLiesThisTroper Nihilism is for the weak. Those who succumb. This is what happened to some of the magical girls when they found out the truth. Strength is finding the light in the dark. The world is whatever you make it, whatever you want it to be.
M. VL He hated it because it was the logical truth of the world.
Yuki Kajiura is the probably the best anime composer around.
The apocalyptic love song I never knew I wanted.
Hey guys, wanna have a wish fulfilled?
+Cleaveage Tenshi I wish for a second season.
+Nirvan Abbasi Nice reply...but I disagree. It's too good to be ruined by another season. I'm glad I never picked up the mags.
+Nirvan Abbasi
*A second season is created, but it sucks*
Now, your existence as Nirvan Abbasi has reached it's conclusion, all that is left for you is to give in to despair and become a witch.
That statement is false. Madoka Magica cannot suck.
Nirvan Abbasi It can if Urobuchi quits and they hire a different writer. Just look what happened with Psycho-Pass season 2.
I wish I could become a magical girl....
You now nothing girl!!! (kyubey liked this) ( ◕‿‿◕ ) contract?
yes.
yes i would.
How dead are we talking?
i dont know man, for some awesome powers, a theme song and all the Eroge ever made i think its a fair trade.
that would be for like an hour, until i transform into my kickass outfit, fly around and put a witch in the dirt because reasons.
I KNOW WHY YOU'RE HERE, JAILBIRDS
Yes. I'm back here even though i always have this song on repeat
Me and my girls going out to goth churches wearing our witch outfits making soft hand ballet in front of red drapes
Is it just me, or is the lead singer like extremely beautiful? She has such a unique look! I'm so mesmerized by her.
I feel like her nose is the Chanel statement of today.
omg the violin it just gets me all the time UGHHHHH!!!
A piece of time that exist solely for madoka's story more importantly homura's suffering
Still a good anime and song till this day
This song still gives me chills! EPIC!
Totally chills
IT'S AVAILABLE IN MY COUNTRY! YES! I'VE BEEN WAITING!
