My top 3 trainers are: ASICS Novablast 3 for everyday training so comfortable. Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 great for racing as got 2 x PBS in 10K and Half Marathon, Adidas Adios Pro 3 for long runs up to Marathon and great durability (can be expensive). All great prices on Sport Shoes at the moment.
Saucony Endorphin Speed (2) for me. I've tried and sent back many others.. Machs, Novablasts, Pegasus, but the Speeds just fit great! Incredibly comfortable and great at all speeds. The toe box upper busted around 400km but other than that excellent durability. Approaching 500km in them now and looking for a replacement. Great videos Ben!
The Pegasus 39 has been good overall, and they go on sale a lot. But I had to put in longer laces and use all the lace holes to get the heel nice and tight. The included laces weren’t long enough to do that.
I’m using Hoka’s ATR6 @£70 for my budget every day shoe. Great for everything from driving the car to running an ultra. It’s not great on mud, you’ll need Speedgoats for that.
Fun video idea! And well executed as always ;) Favourite daily shoe: ASICS Novablast version 1 (I bought 4 pairs in total, and they last well over 800k for me, approaching 1000k for the first one) (unfortunately having blister problems with the praised version 3, both at the heel and in the toe box)
Since I have to make my shoes last, I originally went to get a novablast. They had none, so wife let me upgrade to the Superblast. I have not looked back. Love running in the shoes so much. I am debating a cheaper shoe to rotate in, currently thinking the Adidas SL trainer.
I love the Superblast was able to get mine for a steep discount but the shoes are worth the money. Incredible stable for the stack height and you will not miss the carbon plate!
For Daily Trainers, I would say Adidas SL is my favorite in the $120 USD range. I know some people think it's too firm but it's only firm for the first 30 miles or so. I actually prefer a firmer ride. It's super responsive and it does last around 500 miles. It's also on discount quite often.
Puma Velocity Nitro 2 for me. I've paid as little as £45 for a pair but I would pay RRP for them if I had to. Puma's excellent Nitro foam paired with their superb grippy Pumagrip. Good enough for summer lowland trails. Love 'em.
@@davidpage8147 I take the Ride 15 for a little quicker runs, and/but the Velocity Nitro 2, if I want more comfort. So, I wouldnt pick one over the other in general. They are too different, especially in the midsole!
Agree with the Mach 5 and Novablast 3, got them both and prefer the Mach 5 as they're more fun to run in. But the Novablast 3 offers way more value in term of durability. Got my first pair to 1100km while I had to replace the Mach 5 around 650km. Can't justify the purchase of a more expensive shoe like the Superblast or NewBalance SC v2. Don't think they're worth it for me as I really enjoy running in the Mach 5 or Novablast. Better save that money for a true racing shoe.

I have arthritis damage in my feet, so need a rocker midsole, so it’s Hokas for me, Clifton or Challenger, but I’d love to try the Bondi for the extra cushioning. I usually get the older models when I can, but they often seem to sell out in my size 😢 Luckily our local running store usual has a discount on the newer models!
Ben, I’m looking for a road to trail shoe which will allow my toes to spread ( class myself as have slightly wide feet but don’t need wide fitting shoes) but I don’t need the volume of space that wide fitting shoes seem to give. 4-8mm drop. Any suggestions? Thanks
Love the mach 5 but durability is poor outsole was pretty worn by 600 or 700 km ..novablast 2 I like not great for fast paces but can cheap now cos old model and getting 1200km plus a pair I'm going on to my 3rd pair if I can find them..really tempted by superblast but probably out of my price range 😢
My two cents: invest in a shoe that has a Pebax midsole. That shit is eternal. You're more likely to bust the upper or grind through all the outsole rubber before you lose any bounce. Saucony Speed 3 would be my go-to all around shoe.
The triumph 20 for me just love it but couldn’t resist the reebok floatride 5 at £44!!! recently just as a short run alternative. Thanks Ben great video
I never ran in the first two versions and its my first pair of ZoomX shoes so with no expectations of either its been great. I actually quite enjoy a slightly firm ride.
Was thinking of trying the Hoka Mach 5 but was wondering if the drop is a bit low at only 5mm. Just starting my road to Valencia so on the long runs where you've parts to pick up the pace would this or something else do the job

Difficult to pick a favorite for daily runs! I’d say it’s either the Asics Glideride 3 or the Hoka Mach 5 for me, depending on how ‘fresh’ my legs are feeling 😊
