"JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE" it sounded like when Scooby doo and the gang uncover the identity of the villain and say it in unison
Lol. I think I'm one of the only people who actually prefer Justin Timberlake's acting over his singing, lol.
And I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for youooohoohooooo meddling kids!!!
@@dibsdibs3495 "Would he have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and that dog of theirs?" "Who's to say?"
“JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE” Dumbledore said calmly
@manny0009 “Sorry, my Prada’s at the cleaners” -Dumbledore said calmly
Great in-scene storytelling when Eduardo grabs two beers for himself and Mark when working in the dorm, Mark walks to the fridge and only gets one for himself. The dialogue is about something totally different but tells you so much about their characters
Great thought
Damn I never noticed that before
This should won the best picture at that year
Its a crime that Fincher doesnt have any Oscars.
@@nathanpapp432 I wonder if it might have to do with his method of film making. Andrew having to break 35 to 40 laptops in the scene when he finds out that he's been screwed over. And that being how he shoots every scene. Can't remember where I heard it, but it was a podcast, his name came up. And the guy said there are instances of a lot of takes being appropriate because you needs something spesific and difficult to happen. Like he Spiderman 1 cafeteria scene. But the guy said something to the effect of the academy thinks that Fincher's method means that even though he's a great film maker. A great director should in their eyes able to communicate what they want the actors to do and execute. Rather than having them do it over and over until they get how he saw it in his head.
@@dcworld4349 I dont know why that should have any relevance. All that matters is the end product. Kubrick was the same way and hes widely regarded as one of the greatest directors.
With all due respect, this was a case of a movie that got exactly the Oscars it deserved in my view. Personally, I think both THE KING'S SPEECH and TOY STORY 3 were slightly better. The undisputed star of this movie was the screenplay IMO, which deservedly won. I personally felt that the script, editing, and score (incidentally the 3 categories it won) did much of the heavy lifting.
Also, it is worth noting that THE KING'S SPEECH was a bigger audience hit (it made roughly twice as much money at the box office than THE SOCIAL NETWORK did, and even won the Audience Award at Toronto Film Festival).
I actually think that Fincher should've won for THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, where the direction did a lot of the heavy lifting in that case (the main problem was the premise, and Fincher made the movie a whole lot better than it deserved to be).
Or Inception
If you like biographical movies that are very true to the real life story, you need to watch The Big Short. Very, very accurate and incredibly well done.
Also, The Founder is another decent one.
And "Steve Jobs (2015)!"
No WAY you didn't show us your reaction of THE COLDEST LINE EVER "I like sitting next to you Sean. Makes me look so tough"
most of the dialogue from the examinations for the two lawsuits was taken directly from the transcriptions of the actual examinations
“Sorry my Prada’s at the cleaners!” God Andrew Garfield is such a good actor
Amen! His acting primarily carried a lot of the film imo.
That is my favorite scene!!!
He is a mediocre actor.
@@Brian-qn7fn mediocre comment.
@@TimothyMills77 his acting was great but it did not carry anything. The film is flawless in every other aspect
''Ew, is he eating canned Tuna?''
That ain't even that bad, there's also Pasta/Spaghetti/Noodles with Ketchup.
Being broke at college is a thing.
how else would you make tuna sandwiches right?
50 cent cups of ramen noodles (or they were 50 cents when I was in college). Sometimes on special for 5/$1 as the semester started. After seeing how they were made (in the USA), I never ate American ramen noodles ever again. Japanese ramen noodles 🍜, yes. 👍🏽
Wait. I’m sorry. Since when is it wrong to eat tuna straight out of a can? 🤨
@@bamboosho0tfunny part is they are made similar 😂
God bless u people for going despite the heart break and struggle it’s likely not that easy I don’t know or don’t want u guys or gals did the struggle is real
"I think somebody can still have talent even if they're a terrible person" (about Kevin Spacey)...well that's a fitting quote for this film
Didnt the kevin spacey stuff get cleared up?
Andrew Garfield is easily one of my favourite actors of this generation. If you like war films, he's fantastic in Hacksaw Ridge as a non-combatant medic. Great movie, and an even better performance by him.
He is a mediocre actor.
@@Brian-qn7fn And who do you like? Who; in your opinion; is a great actor from this generation?
silence>>>
4:40; Fast-paced dialogue is classic Aaron Sorkin (22:19; his cameo) who wrote the movie which absolutely deserved its Screenplay, Score & Editing Oscars, but should've won Best Picture too ahead of The King's Speech!
Agreed on Best Picture. King’s Speech is a very, very good film but this movie absolutely should have won. It’s arguably one of the best/most important movies of the 2010s
@@JeffKelly03 👍
I respectfully disagree. I actually preferred THE KING'S SPEECH just slightly more (the tone is surprisingly rather dark for the latter, not to mention the fact that the unusual directing style actually working perfectly for the material). As a matter of fact, the acceptable alternative for me would've actually been TOY STORY 3 (one of the only times I think an animated movie would've really deserved the win).
My personal favorite film of 2010 was a tie between THE KING'S SPEECH and TOY STORY 3, with THE SOCIAL NETWORK right behind both.
@@JeffKelly03 I like The King's Speech too, but it winning Best Picture over this film, as well as Inception, Toy Story 3 and Black Swan is just crazy
22:07 Surprised Holden didnt recognise her as Aunt May from the PlayStation Spider-Man games. She's the actress and face model for her. 😊
I knew she looked familiar! Thanks!
This is where Dakota Johnson(madame web) got her first start and as we all would know be the lead in the 50 shades series.
Fincher is a master of fast paced storytelling and they told him his movie was too long, so they did a table read of the entire script to see if they could finish before their time limit. Once they knew they could do it, they made sure the scenes were still as fluid as possible.
And now she’s hit her peak with madame webb. Can’t believe it made 10 Webbillion dollars!
I mean, technically she got her first start from being the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson but yeah, this was one of her first roles.
They didn't do a table read, it was Sorkin recording into a cassette.
As someone who grew up on the Suite Life shows, it blew my mind seeing Brenda Song in this, doing what she does in this movie
What'd she do???

This is one of my absolute favorite films ever!
It is also the film that made me want to study the craft of filmmaking. The day I saw this movie was the summer of my 16th year. I had rented several films to watch, wanting to catch up on some I had either missed previously or found interesting. That day, I had been working outside chopping wood for hours. Night fell and I went inside exhausted and with no desire to watch anything, but I needed to return the movies the next day and guess which one was the only one left?
By the time those two hours passed, I was wide awake.
This movie energized me, as though it had brought me back to life. I was on such a euphoric high, and it came from watching a movie where people just talk! For the first time ever, I asked myself, "how did they do that?". How did this movie work such wonder on me? I had to know.
So I became obsessed with this film! I researched everything I could, from the making ofs on the home video releases, interviews with the cast and crew, I watched countless video essays and read just as many written ones on this one movie. In the process, I became aware of the processes behind editing, choosing shot sizes, sound design, and constructing dialogue, amongst many other elements of filmmaking I had never even considered before. This movie unlocked a new appreciation of cinematic craft that has blossomed into a desire to really study film and one day to maybe make one of my own.
This movie has changed my life, and that is no exaggeration. It has become such a part of me that it is no longer just a good two hour diversion. It is an experience to savor, a well of nourishment, a nostalgia trip, and a flawlessly constructed work of art!
_This is one of the greatest films ever made!_
10/10
Definitely one of the greatest film ever made!!! Even I can't think of any other film that get's as flawless as "The Social Network". Perfect to a T.
The Natalie Portman song popped up right as I was already singing it lmao
Another good movie written by Aaron Sorkin is "Steve Jobs" on bring this up because of the reference to Steve jobs charisma compared to Mark made me think of that movie.
I love Holden saying is the music like a techno kind of stuff and Jenn just simply saying ,"It's Trent Reznor."
😂😂😂
In the commentary Fincher always refers to them as characters, "The Zuckerberg character", "The Eduardo character", so on. This is not a bio pic or a documentary, some of the legal stuff and the hard facts are brought from the real world but these are fictional characters. It's a great movie.
One of my favorite Fincher movies and the Oscar Winning Score was immaculate. Such great dialogue and acting especially by Andrew. I love that this movie doesn’t focus so much on Facebook, it’s more of a backdrop, but this movie does an amazing job of helping define an entire generation. Great reaction as always. 🎉
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross made a masterpiece of a soundtrack for this movie!!!
This is Fincher's magnum opus. Much like "Goodfellas" is to Scorsese, the "The Social Network" might be the film most exemplary of Fincher's style. Its not my personal favorite, but this movie a masterpiece.
Funny thing, The Social Network and Goodfellas are my 2 favourite films of all time! 👍👍
Wow, LOVE that you both haven’t seen this. I had a great time rewatching this with you 2. Have a great day!
20:56 so no one on screen here remembers her name, great 😂
This movie has been credited with a huge surge in people going to school for tech. Been looking at bootcamps myself, lol.
5:47 Hahahahaha, yes, Mark Zuckerberg is indeed an alien trying to be human! This is the best description of him I have ever heard 🤣🤣🤣
Since y'all liked this movie so much, y'all should see "Steve Jobs (2015)," starring Michael Fassbinder, ASAP!!
The only problem I had with this movie is they portray the only reason mark wants to create facebook is to show up a girl that dumped him. Like the only reason people build cool stuff is to get girls. In reality Mark was in a long term relationship before he even started the site.
Really? So why did he build the site?
19:59 this is Josh Pence and his “face cameo”. He plays the second Winklevoss twin before they CGI’d Armie Hammer’s face over him.
You should watch the Steve Jobs movie from 2015. Written by Aaron Sorkin who also wrote The Social Network.
"JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE?!" X2
That was funny as hell lol
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's a movie that any time I see it playing on TV, I can just go to it and watch any amount of it. My sister got really annoyed with my dad and I watching it all the time
That's how my cousins felt about me watching movies over and over as a kid, lol. I got annoyed with them watching movies over and over again, too, so it's very common, lol.
Y’all should watch hacksaw ridge. I believe it is Andrew Garfield’s best performance
If you want more you should go on a Sorkin binge after this Moneyball, Molly's game (which has Michael Cera playing Tobey Maguire) his Steve jobs movie not that god awful Kutcher version. Trial of the Chicago 7, Charlie Wilson's War.
Moneyball is so underrated, another of my favourite films of all time. Wish we got more Sorkin scripts. 👍👍
Moneyball is one of my favorites!! So freaking good! Aaron Sorkin is the goat
I know you're gonna hate this, but I couldn't help focusing on Holden's beard for the intro because the right side of his face looked like it wasn't groomed or combed properly, or he just woke up or something because the hair is just sticking so far off his face. Unless it's just normally like that and I'm just now noticing. Either way I'm sorry for pointing it out, it just gave me a laugh and I decided to type this lol, and I'm also sorry for the people reading this comment and looking at it and noticing it as much as me now.
I saw that too! Found that super odd.
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ collaboration on the score absolutely put this movie over the top 🤘
One of the best movies ever made and one of the first films that made me LOVE cinema
8:22 Holden does his best sarcasm I have ever seen! Go tuna loving people!
The dog on Jen's lap is so adorable!
8:19 Holden’s response made me laugh so hard 😂
I know the guy you pointed out as an extra in everything as a character in Chuck. Funny thing is that he's in the show so much, but he's basically an extra for the show as well lol
16:22 the articles in the Crimson are word for word.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER ITS SO GOOD AND THE MUSIC ROCKS. ONE TIME I WATCHED IT 5 TIMES IN ONE DAY
Love this film, a great character feature.
You guys should watch Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny if you haven’t seen it. It’s ridiculous and so fun.
Might be Jack Black at his best.
I was 14 when this came out and remembered being just blown away. Top 10 movies of the 21st century imo.
Now these are the kind of films I'm here for. Genuinely a modern masterpiece
I nearly died watching this movie. Part way watching this movie, I had a headache went up to get an aspirin when I had a sharp pain in my right shoulder, arm, and jaw. Went to the ER to find that my aorta had torn. Didn't get to finish the movie for a few weeks.
This is not the usual type of movie I’m used to watching you guys react to. It did get me interested though. Clicked on it as soon as I saw it 😃
I don’t know if anyone has said this but they filmed it on the Johns Hopkins campus. The only reason why I know this is because I went to college there and I had to look it up and verified it.
YOOO THIS IS A FREAKING TREAT! YOUR REACTING TO MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALLLLLL TIMEEEE!!!! HECK YEAH!!!
4:42 - it's not just that it's Fincher. Maybe not even primarily. It's Aaron Sorkin. That is absolutely his style. From "A Few Good Men" to "The West Wing" to "Moneyball" to "The Newsroom," that rapid-fire dialogue is a Sorkin staple.
Mark Zuckerberg went onto SNL and interacted with Jesse Eisenberg, playing him in the skit.
Oh my gosh, yes! He’s so great in ‘K-Pax,’ and I struggle with that too when I show people that movie. Oh, it would be great if you did a reaction to that with Jen if she hasn’t seen it yet 😃
The lady who play's Zuck's atty is Rashida Jones, the daughter of the legendary Quincy Jones. She is also in Park & Recreation and The Office.
"he was so good in K-Pax" is the most Holden thing ive ever heard.
3:52: Rooney Mara, one of my favorite actresses and cinematic crushes ever.
Yes that is dragon tattoo, the girl from Her, Carol herself.
I love Jens shirt! Shoutout from Minnesota ✊🏻👌🏼
Sorkin wrote a Steve Jobs film too. It’s amazing.
Watching "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", the memory of Rooney Mara in "Social" completely vanished from my brain...until she painted her eyebrows back on near the end. I was like, "Oh yeah, Erica!" Also, for years afterward I felt weird seeing Armie Hammer in new movies where there was only one of him.
There are talks of a sequel which is very poetic that you guys are watching this.
7:45 2nd from left. It's Tim from Jurassic Park, Eugene (Sledgehammer) Sledge from The Pacific, John Deacon from Bohemian Rhapsody. Josepth Mazzello.
Please watch whiplash (2014) it’s amazing , Jk Simmons best role and miles teller
One of my favorite films of all time. Love this film.
Please give the Star Trek franchise a chance. 🖖🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿
Which era?
@@alexkramerblogs They don't have to watch everything! Maybe: top ten Classic episodes = Star Trek 1 to 6 = top ten "The Next Generation" episodes = Star Trek 7 to 10 = the three J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies? ✌️
@@martinbraun1211 i think the movies would be the best bet.
If you like this film, since it was written by Aaron Sorkin, you should watch Steve Jobs, also written by him
I have an amazing request for both of you whenever y’all have time, but it’s called chronical. Great movie about what would happen if kids got powers. Great story and great camera work since it is found footage style. But they tie that in with the powers and the story. It’s great. Greta vid as always too🙏🏽
Super underrated movie. Great acting and dialouge.
Imagine saying you're a big fan of Spacey's work and the first title you mention is K-Pax.
Its a good but for sure not his best
I love this movie I watched it so many times never gets old
True story. Many years ago I came home from work and found a live chicken in my bathroom
4:40 The scene and the dialogue are fast paced because of Aaron Sorkin, not David Fincher.
Fun fact the lead singer for nine inch nails went to high school with my father
This movie is so freaking brilliant!! Aaron Sorkin’s script (as usual) is unbelievable. It feels like an action flick, but there’s no action. If you haven’t seen other work of Aaron Sorkin, he also wrote “Steve Jobs” and “Moneyball” (my favorite baseball related movie).
Also the musical score is so good!!
Trail of Chicago seven
Solid reaction, Holden and Jennifer. One of my favorite David Fincher films and one of my favorite movies ever. This should've won Best Picture but entertaining great film. Yes, that is Rooney Mara from Fincher's version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
22:26 is the brilliant writer of the film :) Also Facebook now worth 659.527 Billion which is insane
Did not expect a Kpax shout out 😂
It is the girl from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
If you like biopics, you'll love _Weird._ It's the most accurate and touching biopic I've ever seen.
8:22...haven't watched this movie in years but I seem to be recall that he was eating custard of some kind.
I don't know the name of the song in the movie, but if you want the inspiration for it "Faithless - Tarantula"
06:50
Great film
Let’s goooo more Aaron sorkin gotta watch Steve Jobs (2015)
You should do Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Since it’s biographical about the creator of Wonder Woman.
This movie was written by Aaron Sorkin by the way, it's not David Fincher
LETS. GO. FINALLY.
That chick you were drawing a blank on is Dakota Johnson and she was also in 50 shades of grey
Good eye on Jen recognizing Rooney Mara being from “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”
You keep asking "I wonder if this is true" most of the movies dialogs are taken directly from the transcripts of the 2 lawsuit deposition. The inaccuracies occur when they seem to dipose both lawsuits at the same time. Another inaccuracy is they seem to incur he was starting facebook to impress the Albeck girl. He was already in a committed relationship to his now wife when he started facebook
another great biographic movie is 8-Mile or Rush
You guys should watch Tick Tick Boom!
Another amazing movie Andrew Garfield is in
MN ? Are you from there? Thought you were in FL. I'm from MN and also in FL
If you love David Fincher, I highly recommend watching the “Zodiac” if yall haven’t seen it. exit the movie based on the true zodiac killer story from the 60s.
Aaron Sorkin has said he wants to write a sequel to this movie because he wants to document the way Facebook has been twisted to help spread misinformation and (directly or indirectly) has led to the divisiveness we have in the nation.
I remember when this movie was blowing up all over my Tik Tok fyp, and as soon as I saw Andrew Garfield's acting, I just knew this would be a good biopic. I think this and Hacksaw Ridge is where Andrew Garfield's acting really shines. He's very much an underrated actor, imo.
Hella underrated, he has an oscar nomination, I think he should've won but still a nomination is a great feat

Would you please react to Grand Tourismo (2023) that movie is definitely worth a watch
Y’all should do the original green street hooligans
Trent Reznor just did the score for Challengers starring Zendaya as well
Echoing that if you enjoyed this, another film you might enjoy watching is The Big Short. Very funny and very interesting dramatic take on the lead up to the financial crisis. The acting is superb, particularly of Christian Bale and Steve Carell.
